Attack On Titan is an anime series that has turned heads since it was first released in 2013. From the moment I hit play, I was instantly engaged by the harsh, gut-wrenching, and action-packed story. Accompanied by some of WIT Studios' best animation work and Linked Horizon's amazingly composed soundtracks, I knew this show would inevitably become something great. Even despite being new to the anime genre at the time, I still felt how much potential this story held after finishing just the first season. Now, a decade later, I think it's more than safe to say that my gut was right.
AOT is the

tragic story of a young Eren Yeager born into a titanic hell of his ancestor's making. Eventually, by what seems like fate, this boy is given god-like power. This power allows him to transform into a giant being that he uses to help his allies defend against the plague of his ancestors. Through a long and arduous journey of death, betrayal, and anger Eren Yeager becomes a warrior set on the ideals of freedom and vengeance.
This story resonates with me in a way that many modern shows fail to do in the sense that it isn't afraid to show the gritty reality of AOT's world. Over the 10 years that this show has aired, I've gathered that the core purpose of this show is that there is no happy ending. AOT's story uses the repetition of history to depict the cycle of hate and its consequences. This hatred and selfishness that was curated by a single person ultimately begins the domino effect of an unforgiving world that endlessly molds unforgiving souls. A world that constantly shapes seekers of freedom leading to never-ending ideals such as to fear or be feared.
Today, I am a sophomore soon-to-be junior in college. I have grown up with Attack On Titan for 10 long years and although the thought of it finally being over is heavily bittersweet, I can confidently say that AOT has solidified itself as a generational masterpiece. I truly believe that Hajime Isayama, WIT Studio, MAPPA, and every key animator and music composer that have worked on this anime, have come together to create a show that will ultimately go down in history as one of if not the most Legendary series of all time.
This is my first and most likely only review for an anime I will ever write. However, with the end of such an amazing series being upon us, I felt it necessary to express how much this show has impacted me throughout the past decade. From tears to laughter to being on the edge of my seat, thank you for being a part of my childhood, Attack On Titan.
With that being said, thank you for your time, and remember.....
