Liar game is a manga that is able to fool the reader and do it in an entertaining way. At first you see the main character, Nao Kanzaki as a weak, gullible person that happened to be in an awful situation. She entered a game she knew she couldn't win and that's how we met the second main character, Akiyama who is convinced to help Nao.

the characters. Every loophole is found and exploited by the characters which makes the story so interesting. The readers don't get every detail given to them so they are forced to think about what could happen and what the character is planning. It is made perfectly so that it isn't annoying, it feels satysfying when you finally get the idea and see the plan. Both the games and characters ideas are written so well that I was shocked every chapter which made me want to read it more. Everything makes perfect sense and there are so many plot twists you yourself won't be sure what to expect next, is the thing character is saying a bluff or maybe is it true?
Even though the story is amazing the characters are even better. I really like the contrast between always-doubting Akiyama and overly gullible Nao. The relationship between them is the best in the whole manga because it isn't really friendship or anything romantic. It's something you can't explain in one word. They have so much trust in each other, they have a great connection, they act like they can read each other's minds sometimes and they trust each other so much that they won't doubt each other even in the weirdest ideas or plans. It makes their relation special because it's so deep. I also love how they change because of the other ones influence. Nao is very honest and gullible and Akiyama doesn't trust people, what happens is that Nao starts to think critically and doubt people and Akiyama started to think that people might not be so bad after all. It's really great because they change but their beliefs stay, they just take another perspective into consideration, Nao still wishes to save everyone without leaving anyone behind and Akiyama still wants to destroy the people that take advantage of weaker. They are so different yet so similar, they couldn't succeed without the other one, Nao makes people do things they normally wouldn't because she is so honest. She makes them her allies which helps her and her team much in the future games. Akiyama is really smart and knows a lot about psychology so he can predict how the game will go and he is the one that makes sure to win the game.
The rest of the characters are great too, even though some of them appear only once they have their own story and personality that fits them well. Their interactions with other characters are well-written and unique.
The main characters are always challenged, sometimes things don't go the way they want it to go and its really interesting how the writer shows us the characters reactions, even panicking looks different to every character. The characters always find a way to turn things around to make their plan work and to win.
The artstyle fits the manga perfectly and makes it both beautiful and hilarious. Characters are very expressive, you can exacly tell what they are feeling and often these feelings are very intense. Some of these reactions will send shivers down your spine and some will make you laugh because how absurd the expressions can be. Some of the panels look a bit silly but overall it looks great.
One thing that dissapointed me was the ending. It wasn't bad as an idea but I felt like it was too rushed, I felt weird after finishing the whole thing. It made sense but at the same time it didn't and I still had questions that weren't answered at all. There were like 3 chapters dedicated to the ending and I felt like it was too short, the way the LGT office gave up also felt not worth the time spent on reading? It felt too plain, almost as it was too easy just to make the game tie and the office do nothing about it, just give up.
Overall I think the manga is absolutely amazing. The writer does their best job to make the reader want more. The characters are well-written and unique. The plans character think of are so interesting to read, it's all really smart and things I wouldn't ever think about. It shows how honesty and trust can be used as the best weapon against those that use violence and manipulation. I would describe the whole manga as a piece of art that makes you think and leaves you craving more.

Honestly i can say one thing about this manga. It was the worst one I have read in my life. Its so shitty i had to force myself to finish it. Every chapter had at least one gross scene and it was just painful to read.
The story is decent if we dont think about the fetishized main character that has to dress up as a woman. There were many scenes where the emphasis was put on a private part of a character and in my opinion it was disgusting. I didnt expect it to be so frequent and explicit, in most parts it was just ... |
