Romance, Gangs, Comedy!
Honeko Akabane's Bodyguards having read the ending about 3-4 times made me realise that the show was mainly just focused on entertainment and fun although they were fighting for thier lives the whole manga, the cast may not be totally captivating but the reader would grow to care about each member.
The romance was straightforward without very much competition and the show definitely had me laughing, but brought up some plot twists you wouldn't see coming, what i liked was that the story was just very cleverly thought out and was a smooth read from start to finish. be open minded and expect a typical fast paced shounen with funny characters and alot of fights.
The manga does its best in trying to represent everyone as a group but also each individual, with about 7-8 characters having quite alot of depth and backstory to them, which makes you understand them more and how they would feel in those situations, especially with Ibuki who never slows down with full determination and drive eventually ending up doing everything his own way till the end, the fact that he had an answer to literally every situation although just being a civilian a year back.
I would say that the author definitely really liked his cast cause in more than one situation where I thought a character would've died (sumihiko, dokudami and yamahime's mom for example) They turned out fine so there definitely wasn't any high stake losses but the manga still stayed entertaining with different situations building bonds and characters together. especially with the different emerging villains before they finally focused on the Kodo family who as the main villains were getting dismantled before the main fight (with etsu and yuren eventually joining 3-4.
Overall I would give it an 8.5/10 (definitely a good read)
