Jianshi X really grabbed me in the first chapter that was released because of all the Naruto simularities. If you haven't read any other reviews that talk about what Naruto and Jiangshi X have in common, here are the things you will notice within the first chapter. If you are a Naruto fan you may enjoy these simularities, or you might not, but that is for you to decide. This will be a long one, so grab your popcorn.
Right away, we are introucded to our main cast of characters. Xiaohu, Jiuli, and Chaoyun are three young students training to become Daoshi of the Shenxian Village.

I was one of those people who grew up not seeing a single ounce of Dragon Ball because my parents were too strict to allow me to watch Toonami when I was a kid. After watching other titans such as Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, I decided it was time to tackle the Dragon Ball universe. If you are one from the rare breed who hasn't seen Dragon Ball, here is my review on Dragon Ball Z.
Like I said in my introduction, I never got to watch Toonami as a child. I wish more than anything I could have grown up watching those classics everyone ...

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

I usally watch anime, then go to manga if I really like it. This time, I 100% recommend just reading. The begining of Boruto really had a tough time stepping out of Naruto's massive shadow but eventually it finds it's own footing.
The very first arc envolves the use of "Scientific Ninja Tools" which seems very uncharacteristic for something set in the Naruto Universe. Tech just doesn't really fit the vibe. I HATED the ninja tools myself. I thought they were super lame and kind of a cheap way to fight in a universe that revolves around Jutsu. They got away from "technology" right away ...

If you have seen the Anime, do not let it make you think the manga is as boring as season 2. This manga is straight heat!
Saitama isn't even around really for quite a long time from where Season 2 ends in the manga. The rest of the cast was so interesting and unique I completely forgot about our main character. The art on the other hand, UNMATCHED. The panels are absolutley breathtaking. The details in some of these panels seriusly make me zoom in and appreciate the art of little rocks you can hardly see!! Its not talked about enough. I need to know if ONE and/or ...

One Piece lives in my head absolutley rent free and I have zero compaints about it.
The way Eiichiro Oda has built this universe over the last 20+ years is absolutley insane to think about. How in the world does he connect some of this stuff. It is so much fun piecing everything together throughout the adventure. Once you start learning about Anicent Weapons, The Will of D, The Void Century (and oh boy there is so much more), you might even forget about Monkey D Luffy's goal of finding the One Piece and becoming "King of the Pirates." I don't even know how to review this ... |
