Distant Sky is like Murphy's law, when it can get worse it will(for the characters). Overall it's kinda shit, half of what happens doesn't really make sense. The ending was really stupid. Still, it was really good at keeping tension throughout most of the story. The art is a little messy, but there is a lot of time and effort put into it. The story is kinda messy, but there is a lot of time and effort put into it. The characters are kinda messy, but you see where I'm going. Where it lacks in ingenuity it makes up for in pure effort. It ... deviates from any normal book, by a lot due to this, and is certifiably a new experience. The reason I have it rated so high is due to that feeling if by chance I had maybe felt that it was so original or wild of a ride. It would fall really far for me, but if you are not too familiar with this type of comic, I would definitely recommend it.

If I had to compare this to fire punch I’d give this the W on the account of its consistency as Fire Punch felt like a wild ride that continually made you go wtf!? One thing I’ll say is that this manga isn’t complete without a second read, as some of the details fly by due to info coming in kinda quick. Art is pretty good, I like the way he draws the eyes. It’s pretty unique. The characters feel lived in for the most part. They are all a little insane so it’s hard to relate to them all that much. The story is ... really solid, it takes a interesting unusual direction and runs with it. Definitely a new experience. This is not by any means a “light” story though, but if you don’t hate a scary movie for being scary, then you shouldn’t hate a chainsaw manga for being gorey. Overall it’s a 10/10, wouldn’t put it above berserk or SBR though.
