Protagonist is a girl of noble birth who is not always behaving traditionally but rather chooses to act in unexpected ways. They oftentime think in rather practical ways and are kind to everyone despite their origin. Both protagonists are seen working on a field which is unusual for a noble girl. Both protagonists are starting off as female villain characters in their stories. Both anime's setting is medieval like world and the plot of the story is mainly situated around royalty and aristocrats. For that in both animes we can enjoy protagonists wearing many various dresses on balls and occassions. Altough for different reasons, both protagonists have knowledge of what is going to happen in the near future and are trying to avoid it.
