IMPORTANT !!! - If you are watching at Cinema, Please stay until the very end, we know there are always bits and parts after the ending song, but it is specifically important for this year. It is so gutted to see people leaving when the song hits, true Conan movie fans always stay.
Story: 6/10
Surprisingly short Conan intro for this year. Overall, the movie feels like a cat and mouse game, more than ever. Yes, there are still riddles solving crimes like other movies. Yes, there are also catch and mouse games like other movies. Somehow for M27, they are really putting a lot of screen
...
time in chasing around each other, more than chasing the BO... One notable missing cast member is "THE CRIMINAL", my man in shadow is missing from this movie, someone send help! Not a fan of solely solving the riddle in a movie, prefer finding out the bad guys in movies and solving riddles for anime episode style.
Art:8/10
It is a standard for movies like this caliber. Absolutely love the final part when the stars light up/glowing, the color and toning is gorgeous. All in all, Nice.
Sound: 10/10
Oh my... The exclusive soundtrack that being used (解けゆく隠し場所の謎/The Mystery of The Hidden Place is Solved) on the finale part when they reveal the motive behind all the ruckus and explaining/resolving the crime puzzle, is a godsend, holy moly. Not only is it extremely euphonious, it fits the scene, drama, and situation perfectly. Definitely an all-timer here.
Character:7/10
Momiji = W. Also get to see some unique faceplat/emotion of Ran like the tears of touching/sweetness right at the end. But yea for most people, one cannot miss when there is Kaito Kid flying around right?
Enjoyment: 3/10
I always dislike it when they bring in local Japanese culture into the movie, I find it hard to understand. At least this time around it is not excessive like movies 07 or 21, absolute minimal and not complex. What I am disappointed about is in all the Conan movies, there are always 2 bad guys, one getting caught halfway toward the end and the real mastermind is at the end. For M27, they seem to be trying a different approach, maybe experimenting or setting up M30 style, who knows?
Overall: 6.8/10
Always strict in scoring when it comes to Detective Conan movies because the standard they set throughout the years is soooo damn high. But for this year, although it is not bad by any means but it is just not it, an average for the franchise quality. Based on the 15 second PV at the end, it seems they are doing things out of their comfort zone, without centering around their big selling character for next year. Personal viewpoint is that they are using this movie and M28, 29 to harvest data and experiment for the big M30.

Certainly one of the more interesting one in the recent year without any hype of FBI/Kid/Black Organization
Story: 9/10
I find it more direct, easier to understand, while keeping it as a movie instead of series/episodes, so probably the younger audience will not have a tough time enjoying the movie.
As usual, it adopts the style of past movies (two different parties are trying to solve a case or solving a case via two different places) but one notable change for the story style is there is only one main event compared to the past. (main event which lead us to another grand finale event)
Art: 7/10
It is standard
...
for a movie like this caliber. However anything with blue+red/pinkish would definitely be gorgeous to watch.
Sound: 6/10
The annual opening music (the first 15 second unique tone) is sub-par in my opinion. Apart from that, it is normal throughout the movie until the closing part of the movie which soundtracks were extensively used is noticeable. Glad that the rare vocal main theme was used with another new version of it.
Character: 9/10
When there is a Russian ethnic female appearing in the series, you can expect how she gotta look like. Yup, this one is no different than the rest. Joke aside, if you are looking for a character development outside of the main series, NO, if you are a fan of the police department, this serves well as a character side-development/past.
Enjoyment: 9/10
Find it very enjoyable and exciting, easy to follow, and 2 hours just past in a pinch. There is no excessive or partial part that only the local Japanese would understand/popular within Japanese like movie 07 or 21, so it is a huge plus for the global audience. STAY UNTIL THE CREDITS/ENDING SONG IS OVER, meme is great.
Overall: 8/10
Still, the legendary Movie 06: Phantom of Baker Street remains UNTOUCHABLE, hopefully... HOPEFULLY, next year movie 26 with the hype of B/O, this time around with Gin + fan favorite Haibara (Sherry involved confirmed) would make it at least slightly closer to it.

Story: 6/10
A little bit sub-par, certainly one of the worse in recent year's movie, felt that it is like a "forced" in conjunction of the Tokyo Olympic. Most of their movies tend have a huge main event right off the beginning to spice things up and then went into the Introduction at around 10-15 minutes marks but not this time, the Introduction is pretty late into the movie and the opening is not as excited as its predecessor. Ending wise is pretty straight-forward and direct.
Overall it just feel like the story would better serve as a special 2-hour anime episode instead of a movie.
Art:
...
9/10
Animation and graphic wise no doubt definitely a huge improvement in every aspect. Personally consider the best by far compared to all of the previous movies.
Sound: 5/10
Doesn't feel like there is any special new outstanding soundtrack. Just the original typical Conan soundtrack.
Character: 5/10
The introduction scene is not enough to explain the whole Akai's family situation. It is not recommended for first timer. It is either you do keep track their anime's storyline here and there or you will be forced to watch their sub-movie "The Scarlet Alibi" to fully get the grasp of the Akai's family situation that played a part in the movie.
Enjoyment: 6/10
A little bit disappointed as I am having high expectation on this movie since its related to the Olympic. The story is just not good enough, luckily they decided to involved Akai's family or else its a dumpster.
Overall: 6.2/10
The pacing is just not right for their typical franchise trademark movies.

Re:Creators the definition of CREATIVITY! Everything about this anime is unique and special especially the recap episode. From mecha to magic girl, any types of the character that you could ask for will be appear in this anime.
PLEASE DO NOT SKIP THE RECAP EPISODE!
Story: 10/10
Just when "Isekai" trend is everywhere, this anime use the concept of reverse Isekai where the character from the fantasy world coming out to join the real world instead of the protagonist blend into some parallel world.
Art: 9/10
The animation is not the best but is good enough in the year of 2017. Nothing outstanding but you will realize that the
...
working team is giving out their all into the art after you watched the recap episode.
Sound: 10/10 - STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!
One word - Epic! Both opening theme song are awesome but the first one is better. Moreover, several soundtrack could just simply become one of the best OST in 2017 like AL:Lu, brave the oceans, layers, here i am and god of ink. Hiroyuki Sawano, you are a legend!
Character: 10/10 - AWESOME!!!
This anime got every types of character and its actually insane! What is your favorite type of anime? Mecha like Gundam? Female knight like Saber in fate series? Magic girl like Madoka Magica? RomCom like Toradora? or even wizard, princess, yakuza, gunner, delinquent, psychotic murderer, military, tragedy. Yes, you read it right. Every single one of it will be appearing inside this anime.
Enjoyment: 10/10
Me? Of course, I am extremely enjoying this series. In my personal opinion, this is the best anime that I had ever watched. Outstanding in the music and the idea of fitting every single possible types of character into one anime. The ending is kind of like a little bit unexpected but it also stick with the anime's concept which is being unique and special.
Overall: 10/10
They do not copy. They are not lazy. The soundtrack is awesome. The character design is marvelous. The story is special. This anime is really unique. For example, the way they had done their recap episode is not like the other anime where the working team just cut and edit the past scene. Re:Creators's recap episode is one of the protagonist recap the past scene for us with the mixture of the protagonist's point of view and the working team took the opportunity to criticize the negative opinion toward the current anime industry in Japan and complaining their current workload to the studio. In my opinion, I think I just witness the birth of the most OP character ever, ALTAIR!
Doubt my review? Why not give the first episode a try?

OK, this movie is stunning enough to make me write a review for the first time. I just came back from watching it. It was a full house at the cinema. It is rare to see a full house in my country when the theater is airing anime. This was a total shock!
Story: 10/10
The story is great. It is sort of like a mixture of tragedy, comedy and romance. Its sort like the mixture of SAO, ALO and GGO but mainly it revives that kind of feeling after you watch the original SAO. It makes me feel nostalgic.
Art: 9/10
For me, the art can
...
be considered good enough and at certain parts the coloring is mind blowing especially when they defeated the monster. The animation also looked more lively compared to the recent GGO series. A great improvement overall.
*Wagnaria Cafe (www working!) made a cameo !
Sound: 9/10
The OST is not as great as SAO, but they did use some of the SAO soundtrack (mainly Swordland) and even made an improved version for certain situation.
Character: 9/10
In Chinese philosophy, whenever there is Yin, there is always a Yang. But for this movie, they neutralize it perfectly. There is no real main evil guy here. All the character had been well design and created with lot of background information. (You can dig deeper to see how much they took into consideration before creating a new character such as Eiji) The MC, Yuna is so kawaii (you will know what I mean once you have watched the movie). A little bit fan service as usual between Asuna and Kirito.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I really enjoyed the 2 hours in the cinema and I do think that you probably need to watch the original SAO series first before watching this movie if possible try to finish ALO and GGO as well.
Overall: 9.4/10
Overall score is 9.4 but I will definitely round it off to 10 instead of 9 because of the story, the comedy, again Yuna is so kawaii, the art and coloring during the FIANL MOMENT when the monster is defeated and the BGM being played at the right time at the right moment. I would definitely recommend any SAO fans to watch it, you will never regret!
* For those who plan to go cinema and watch it, do stay until the ending song is finish. You will be rewarded :)
