A short animation based around the Morinaga caramel product celebrating it's 100th anniversary.
The story is quite endearing if yet charming about a mother looking after her small baby, she is eventually led by a floating caramel cube being held by a small invisble child, later on in the animation it turns out to be the mother as a child and shows her mother before her giving her the same product when she was little.
Overall it's nicely animated and tells a very short and sweet endearing story about family and tradition that still holds dear in the hearts of many 100 years later which

Not sure what this is supposed to be other than a short animation of a woman's face turning into an expression of pure pain and mental anguish?
Repeated watches make this short animation feel like an existential rubik's cube. Overall is there a deeper meaning to this? Or is this just some kind of 7 second shit post that feels like an intentionally bad meme? I guess it's up to the viewer to decide what this animation is supposed to be. Gave it a 2 because some sort of minimum effort was made, even though it came off as confusing and strange.

After hearing about this absolute train wreck of an OVA my curiosity was peaked so it had to be checked out.
The story is an absolute mess and has the subtlety of a large neon light encrusted house brick being thrown at you, basically alien invasion humanity fighting them etc, there's a twist at the end that's so typical and cliche that it made me laugh out loud and ironically made me wanting more to see where else the absurdity of the plot could go to. The character designs look kinda cool though for a mid 2000s OVA, the voice acting is really bad and ...

A short informational animation that's meant for cleaning your VCR explained by Shinichi Kudo/Jimmy Kudo AKA Conan Edogawa/Detective Conan from the case closed series.
Each step has Detective Conan explain how a VCR head gets dirty and why it causes issues with the tape inside the VCR, he has a few of his friends dressed up as parts to explain the tape cleaning process, this is pretty fun, informative and well animated. An odd short form anime series that has Holmes not solving cases and doing nonsensical things to avoid paying rent and working in general, much to his assistant Hudson's dismay.
Kind of hard to recommend this one even to puritan Sherlock Holmes fans, the anime hinges on being a whacky comedy. The subbed version I watched also had a few translation errors that made the show look even more low budget and amateurish. Interesting concept I guess it's essentially anime girls transforming into vehicles in various episodes and a kitchen based machine in episode 5.
As fun and quirky as this little series is (which feels more like an animation project/short reel) it's hard to recommend it to someone who is new to anime, however I would recommend it to someone who's into anime waifus and transformers I guess, as much of a specific niche as that sounds. Highly enjoyed this show as well as it's ridiculous humour and comedic timing, each episode is short too and the plot is really easy to follow.
The chemistry between the cast is great and the chaotic nature adds to the funny moments. The swimming episode is my overall favourite one out of the show. The art style is great and makes each of the cast adorable and endearing, the soundtrack is a nice touch along with the sound design that flows well with comedic timings as well as the build ups. Kaguya is best boy. In conclusion a great bite size short format anime masterpiece. |
