Is it a bit cheesy? Yes... Does it lack a lot of originality? Yeah...
But is it entertaining?
Absolutely.
I think Ninjas outside of Naruto are a bit cringe, but I actually enjoyed this. It has a lot of drawbacks, but the animation was good, special effects and explosions were very satisfying, and the background music was good. I definitely got goosebumps more than once. I liked the characters and the story was good. It's not a masterpiece, but it's worth a watch. Younger audiences might enjoy it more since they haven't been jaded by society and might still believe in the moral message, but I think ... it's worth a watch if you've got the time and you want something that isn't too heavy and is mostly just ninja awesomeness.

You know when you find an anime that feels like it explodes your brain and opens your eyes to the world around you? One that literally feels like you got punched in the gut because of how well it was written and told? This was one of those for me. It was my first suspense/,mystery anime that made me absolutely fall in love with the genre and start watching more and more.

Erased is a great example of a supernatural mystery. I think the characters are adorable and I fell in love with each one of them. The storytelling was ... masterful. It does a great job of leaving you just enough hints. I finished this anime and immediately rewatched it to look for all the hints, then made my husband watch it with me.

I was really looking forward to this one, but it was kind of a let down.
To start, it's Chinese, so for people who hate listening to it, don't even bother starting this one. The art style was nice, but there are times when the fps is visibly choppy. We're talking 6 fps. The sound effects aren't very good either, and it was much easier to actually just mute the show and read along than trying to listen to the actor's failed attempts to portray emotion.
I dropped it halfway through because I could tell our characters weren't ever going to grow or learn much and that ... the big pull of this show was just going to be some fight scenes and our plucky main character showing off.
Is it bad? No, but with so many better options out there, it really isn't worth the time to slog through the predictable and underwhelming world that is Another Journey to the West.

This anime was generic, slow, and hard to get through.
The animation was pretty enough to look at, the fight scenes were fine enough to watch, but it was obvious they were cutting corners. The music was less than impressive, but not grating on the ears. It's not horrible. Maybe someone who had never seen anime might like it and appreciate all the explanations and not mind how slow and lame everyone is, but anyone who has seen quality anime might end up wincing more than once as they watch this.
Our main character had potential, but he's just too...polite. Like, he's willing to let ... people try to kill him all the time and he's like "Oh, hey, that wasn't nice. But I'm not angry, just please leave so that you don't hurt someone else." Also, our title promises that he is the strongest, but even after watching the whole season, I'm not convinced. His punchy clothing-impaired sidekick seems much stronger as long as she isn't damseled purely for plot purposes.
The plot was so slow, and it was obvious that there were just long stretches of time where they didn't want to animate more, so they'd throw in some stares or silence. Or have the characters stand and talk about obvious stuff like.
"This is a magic crystal."
"Oh! what is is used for?"
"Magic things."
"Wow! You're so smart and knowledgeable about the world!"
Barf. Pass on this one.
