This anime was so popular that there is not much to add. The story is nothing too groundbreaking and the show is your typical shonen (even tho it has a big difference to many in that family is the main focus rather than the protagonist having a love interest or wanting to be strong for no important reason).
That said, even not having a really original base they did everything DAMN right. I have been disappointed about anime in general since HxH 2011 finished airing and Demon Slayer (honorable mention to Vinlqnd which I think is as good if not better) gave me some faith that

Wasted opportunity, this show had potential to be way better than Angel Beats (which wasn't aiming that high to be honest) but had an underwhelming second part and ending.
Good animation, opening (Based Lia) likeable main characters and seemingly interesting plot at the beginning, all this didn't help the final product. They tried to fit everything in 13 episodes but wasn't enough, ep 13 was one of the worst endings I have ever seen, I felt empty. This needed 24 episodes at least for a good character development, at the end Yusa & Takajou weren't relevant at all, I wanted them to take a more important ...

I seriously struggled to finish this anime. Half way through it I wanted to drop it but kept watching.
The pacing is terrible. After 13 episodes I feel like nothing happened and wasted a few hours of my life. Show tries way too hard to be philosophical or make it seem like there's always tension but fails miserably because like I said nothing really happens. This series could have worked a lot more as a standalone 13 episodes show, 24+ episodes plus a possible 3rd season/ovas is just too much. I don't think there's anything else to add since people watching a sequel already knows what's about. ... |
