Despite being from different genres, (Chihayafuru is sport and Nana is music)Chihaya Ayase from Chihayafuru and Nana Osaki from Nana are both determined to achieve goals set for themselves from since a young age. Even with challenging situations and relationships in their lives, they push forward. Overall, the two anime portray the feelings of their respective characters perfectly, whether it's happiness, vulnerability or sadness.
