This was arguably the best anime I've ever seen. The art was spectacular. If anyone knows of an anime with more beautiful backgrounds than this one I'd love to see it. The animation was top notch, just basically everything from a technical stand point was simply astounding.
You can tell from the very beginning that the visuals of this anime were special which got me excited about what the writers would do with a story in such a beautiful setting.
The story is... I can't even find an appropriate word for it. Moving, touching, real... The characters felt alive and I was really able to ...

OMG... so... damn... funny...
Unless you liked Kai Doh Maru, or you're a person that seriously does not like to laugh... you WILL love this anime.

I was skeptical when my friend rented this from the store because I was never really interested in the Lupin series. But wow... I laughed so hard during so many parts. The story is actually pretty cool, and the main character is funny without being annoying.

Good times, Lupin FTW.

Mixed Feelings
OK... I'm sure you can tell by the scores I gave this anime that I found this anime to be RIDICULOUSLY overrated. I've watched it maybe 5-7 times in my life. First time was just to watch what all the fuss was about, 2 through the last was "maybe I missed the reason why people thought this was so great." the very last time I saw it, I remember saying "Nope, I was right. Still weak."

When people say "arguably the greatest film of all time", I'll be first in line to be on the arguing side. The two main characters of the story are both ...

I was a little kid in the Philippines when this anime aired on television, so it definitely has a nostalgic appeal that gives it an unfair advantage when I compare it to other giant-mecha anime. I rewatched this series in Japanese with English subs, and I saw it in a whole new light. I think this anime is the quintessential giant robot anime.
I really have nothing bad to say about it. Other than... with old-school robot anime like this, you either get it... or you don't. OR you're Filipino and you love this anime because you used to sing the opening theme song with ...

This is definitely in my top 3 favorite anime of all time. HnI is amazing. There's not too much drama so the story isn't exactly deep. But, there is lots of humor and the action is loads of fun to watch. The main character Ippo is probably one of the most amicable characters I've seen in an anime. Many people can relate to him, or can find inspiration in his determination. He's driven, but not to the point where it gets annoying.
Usually, in underdog stories like this the main character takes up the bulk of my interest but with anime I was surprised to ...

This anime quickly made it to the top of my list. The characters felt alive with strengths and weaknesses, and the story fleshed itself out to being ridiculous but not to the point where it becomes a turn-off.
I'm a little biased, because I'm incredibly partial towards giant mecha anime. Especially colorful, fun, over-the-top animes like TTGL. There's tons of humor, drama, and action. Only a few episodes dragged, but for 27 episodes the overall experience was amazing. The last two episodes are truly epic.

If you try and take this anime too seriously, you might be turned off by the style. But if you ...

Preliminary (25/50 eps)
If you're looking for something engaging, with thrilling action sequences and a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat at the end of every episode, then go ahead and skip this anime. It's the ultimate definition of a mediocre anime. I had to force my way through every episode. The hero of the story is not likable, and the character Niijima is the equivalent of Jar-Jar Binks in Episode 1. Actually, I take that back because I hated Jar-Jar less. The boob jokes get old, and the action sequences are weak. You can find SO much better. If you want to ...

Kai Doh Maru (Anime) add
I absolutely hated this anime. There is nothing good to say about it. It felt as if I was watching a child playing with its toys that were made in the early bronze age in a room with rubber walls. It was a struggle to finish this anime from the start. I can honestly say, that I have had workouts that lasted an hour and a half that were less physically demanding than sitting through this anime.
Absolutely ridiculous. You can tell that incorporating CG was not something the company that produced this garbage was used to doing. The colors were horrible. Perhaps the art ...
