Mieruko-chan is a comedic-slice of life series with hints of horror, al though having "creatures" all over the place it is more focused precisely on 3 main characters, the protagonist and friends. Each episode brings the constant struggle the protagonist has to deal with while keeping the ability to perceive such monsters a secret. Some circumstances are wholesome and get very deep in lore regarding certain characters. Many of the interactions and situations are funny, making it less heavy for people who might want to enjoy soft horror, to put it into perspective.


The opening doesn't has heavy visual spoilers which is good if you ... like you enjoy it or are having a bad time skipping. It is more a symbolic visual. The ending on the other hand, does have spoilers from characters or details that will be shown ahead. Not the best songs ever, personally but still catchy and in mood for this kind of series. Comedic-horror based. Make sure to stay after the ending as it always give extra content or context from the episode. It can always give you a laugh or two.

Good animation, acting and storytelling, even if it looks simple, it does it's job. Good plot twists that you might not expect. Overall, a good series to enjoy alone or with company!
