Hey there! You can call me Shu. I got into anime back in high school, it started as a way to cope with moving to a new city and not knowing anyone. But before I knew it, I was completely hooked! I've binge-watched more anime than I can count. I even used to keep track of everything I watched in a notebook because I was always running out of new ones to dive into.
I'm especially into action and romance genres, and I’ve probably gone through most of the big titles in those categories. After a while, I either ran out of good anime or just got a little burnt out, so I ended up getting into manga and manhwa. It took some getting used to, but the first manhwa I read, "Solo Leveling" had me instantly hooked. Since then, I've been exploring more stories and expanding my horizons with both manga and manhwa, and I’ve grown to love them just as much as anime.
I’m still working on updating my MAL list (wish I found it sooner!), but there’s just so much I’ve watched and read that I’ve forgotten a bunch of names already!
I’m always open to new recommendations, so feel free to send a friend request or drop a message, I'd love to chat and get to know you. Thanks for stopping by, and take care!

Thank you for such a kind and thoughtful message — it really made my day! I’m also super glad we connected. It’s always awesome to meet someone who shares the same love for anime and manga!
Haha yes,
I’m the same, I keep adding stuff I remember watching as a kid or things that randomly pop up.
And omg, “Elfen Lied” was also my first anime on youtube.. and he is my Master the same.
But to be fair, it does have a very emotional side underneath all the chaos. Definitely one of those unforgettable early anime.
And thank you so much for the compliment about my profile! That seriously means a lot. 💕 I kind of just messed around with it until it felt right — if you ever want help customizing yours, I’d be happy to share some tips!
It sounds like you’ve got a really nice balance going on, which is honestly so impressive. I totally get the struggle of juggling life, work, and anime time (the eternal triangle 😅). I’ve been doing something similar — catching up on older series, scrolling through Interest Stacks at 2 AM, and trying to find those hidden gem manhwa.
Lately I’ve also been getting into some slice-of-life stuff, which feels like a warm hug after a long day. Other than that, I’ve just been working and trying to enjoy the little moments in between.
I’d love to keep chatting too — feel free to message me anytime!
Wishing you an amazing weekend ahead, filled with good vibes and cozy anime nights
Take care!
Omg I'm so happy you started The Apothecary Diaries! Isn't it just adorable? The art and the color scheme are lovely, and the characters just suck you in right from the start. I'm so happy you're enjoying it already! Hope the rest of the episodes keep you entertained. And I totally agree with you—the English dub is actually great! Always such a relief when that happens.
And yesss, I couldn't agree more about those excessive intros in historical or murim-type anime. This one just glides you into the world with charm and humor instead of chaos, which is so refreshing.
I'm also happy that you brought up Tower of God! That webtoon has an extremely special place in my heart. I remember being so invested in the early chapters, and yes—Bam's long hair era was peak! The tone's changed a lot over the years, but it's still worth reading when you're in the mood for some high-stakes storytelling. That being said, I haven't been keeping up with TOG in a while either—I've been in a bit of a reading slump, so I just read a bit here and there when the mood strikes.
I've been watching some older anime such as Monster lately, as well as keeping up with new seasons of Wind Breaker and Black Butler. I also started The Kowloon Generic Romance and Witch Watch—they both have such great atmospheres! I'm always up for new recs too, so if you have anything interesting you've watched or read lately, let me know!
I cannot blame you as I don't really care for it, but apparently the future seasons it gets better from what I hear. Definitely Episode 5 & 7 stood out so you have that if you ever want to watch it. ;p Maybe best to watch while waiting for Season 2, they seem to have "Split" the Season 1.. Like you will definitely be pissed off when you end up waiting for a Season 2 haha, it started to be interesting to me especially... BUT always feel free to reach out with your thoughts if you watch!!
Episode 7 might be a contender for best episode of the year & there was a moment from EP5 that made me think, "Wow, I really like these characters." (Still not fond of MC-kun though!! His VA annoys me slightly, do you feel the same way? :c) Momo best.
Lord of the Mysteries looks really good for it's LN ratings, I wonder if it's just a small fanbase that inflates it hehe. Will give that a watch. ^^
You'd be disappointed if you are looking for more C.C. & L.L. They aren't featured other than one scene that wasn't really meaningful IMO, kind of a big bait since they lazily copied the OG, but without capturing the things that made it.. good. Roze is Princess Sakuya actually!! If you remember the Princess obsessed with Zero from the OG, this is why I thought it would be interesting because she had the opportunity to be fleshed out aswell.
Reading is Bleh, Manga is fine!! XD but mhm, you can take it at your own pace & it's less of a commitment than paying attention to an episode. Just preferences. I will watch the OVA afterwards for sure, Elfen Lied had an.. interesting.. OVA too. :D
Added & nw!! That's understandable. I've seen some of these Arts, the 7th Anniversary is my favorite one you've sent!! :>
And yesss, The Apothecary Diaries! I'm so happy you brought it up. It's such a gem. The romance is slow burn—so subtle but actually rewarding if you're one for witty banter and that classic "will-they-won't-they" vibe. It's not the focus, but it adds such a sweet richness to the story.
Character development is chef's kiss. Maomao is so intelligent and sassy in an absurd way, and watching her navigate around the court with all of her brains and snark is such a delight. The side characters are rich as well—it's not all puff; there's a good ratio of intrigue to heart.
If you've been procrastinating, I completely get it—but it's totally worth jumping in when you're in the mood for something different!
Mhm!! Only if you wish to check Roze out or want something new, but honestly it doesn't hold a candle to the OG, so you'd be better off rewatching R1/R2 tbh. Thank YOU for allowing me to talk about something I enjoy! :D
No worries! Mediums are all preference really, being able to read at your own pace & enjoying the paneling is a completely different experience. Hopefully Brilliant Healer doesn't fall short for you & I was unaware of a new Bunny Girl Senpai season. O_O Will probably finally watch it before it airs!! It could be fun to discuss with you about as episodes air. & Mirai Nikki reminds me well of Elfen Lied haha. I know all the craze about Yuno..
I won't add too many recommendations to your NEW neverending list aswell as I think it's best to watch whichever you want to at the moment. But welcome to the club! A goal of mine is to finish all these before I croak & it will be fun watching your progress too. Just take your timeee it will all be layed out nicely soon enough!
Discord or MAL comments, I really don't have a preference!! I check MAL when I can, but I don't seem to get mobile noti's here anymore for some reason. :<
No pressure to have in-depth chats all the time btw, short & long convos are both lots of fun. I don't mind!! Hearing others talk about their passions brings me some of the most joys in life. :D
Those arts are really nice, I'm going to save some thanks.
Ayyy, glad to see another BGS enjoyer. Bunny Girl Senpai was so good, I can't wait for next season when "Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus" comes out.
My first anime I watched was 11eyes and i got my attraction from shiroi with her silver hair and red eyes and the first proper character i liked was remilia scarlet, But i've lost interest with red eyes and now like eye colours related to the hair colours I like too.
i don't find it that much but thank you, though I'm still trying to improve. I'm sorry to hear that though I suppose it is safer (to some level) to have it digitalized?
Well I could say Shiki but it's kind of a slow anime (imo at least) so I'm not sure if you'd like it (I didn't like it that much though I'd say it's one of the popular ones)
Couldn't agree more! I especially like the OVA that she was the center of attention (if you couldn't tell from my favorites lol).
About Tomodachi Game -the anime itself is also among my favorites lol-, I personally like such psychology animes that make you question something while watching alongside the characters (if that makes sense) and if you do, I'd say you'll like it
Thank you! I hope you'll have a day!
Code Geass is VERY popular, I'm a bit surprised actually but it's always nice to know someone with similar interests. :p
Hehe if you hear my honest opinions, I would be bashing it within our first conversation!! But it wasn't ALL bad things so I will give it that. My rating is just giving the show the bird for the blatant & low-effort Anime Roze is, I really don't want to spoil haha so I'm holding back, but it COULD have been something!!
Disappointed. :<
I'm not too sure about recommendations for you PERSONALLY judging from your favorites as I do not know many of them. But I will think of some, there isn't much airing recently that I enjoy nearly as much as my favorites, but I'm curious if you have kept up with any Seasonals these past years & ones that stood out to you. :D
There are a few of your favorites which have intrigued me & always wanted to see, Bunny Girl Senpai & Mirai Nikki especially. But for your Webtoons & Manhwa, they're a little foreign to me.
Will be antsy to see you update your list as you remember!! Starting a MAL late is very annoying, I understand as it's hard with all the stuff we consume. TwT
C.C.'s hairstyle here is PERFECT. Take more!! >///<
Code Geass is my passion hehe. C.C. <3 & ofc!
mhmm. I have seen Roze, hehe's. Personally not very fond of it.. But ehh!! Things happen & I'm just being difficult, lol. It could have been very very interesting to me & was exciting early on, but sort of lost interest half-way. Maybe it was because it was weekly as Seasonals tend to do that sometimes, but who knows, you might enjoy it!! x.x
Dw, I won't spoil in case Shu wants to watch, & I LOVE this gif btw. One of my favorite moments in Code Geass. Snow is white.. ahh!!
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts Shu if you ever do watch. Will try my best to remember the parts I enjoyed if you reach out. hehe.
Manhwa is likely the thing the person recommended me but as you said it's rare to find a book like it, I wouldn't bother going online to look at them as that defeats the purpose of having a book to read.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was actually one of the first animes I completed and with your point about spoilers, if i read mangas I would likely already know what happens in the anime (unless the company changes some things in the anime) so watching it knowing what to expect is how an anime becomes boring fast for me as I like curiosity and unexpected situations.
thankies for the compliment, I do like purple and blue haired girls too but white haired ones get my most attention ^^
I did buy a manga of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" but I barely read any of it because the lack of colour even though I know the appearances of the characters as I watched the anime.
