Hina Tachibana is the sister of Rui Tachibana, step-sister, and teacher of Fuji Natsuo. Hina is also the ex-girlfriend of Hagiwara Shuu. Hina is also one of the main heroines of the series, as she appears in the first chapter of the series. Natsuo also has a clear crush on her.
Hina's cheerful on the outside but underneath all that is a conflicted young woman, ever caught between what her heart wants and how she thinks she should behave like an adult, teacher, and older sister.
She started having genuine feelings for Natsuo way before they even got together, which only grew stronger in time, to the point where it was getting hard for her to suppress them, and starts having an actual teacher and student taboo relationship. Initially, she's still hesitant due to their social standing but once he shows how serious he is, she's all for it. The two dated briefly for around 3 months, start planning out their future but eventually get caught and forced to separate and Hina leaves home and switches schools to prevent a scandal from coming out.
The heroine in Natsuo's award-winning story "Well, see you." is modeled after Hina.
Further manga spoilers:
When she and Natsuo meet again on the island of Izu Oshima, she tells a lie and "rejects" his feelings due to not wanting to put his future as a writer at risk.
Being more family and relationship-oriented rather than career-driven, Hina eventually gives up being a teacher and returns home, settling into the role of Natsuo's big stepsister, or at least trying to...
Hina's feelings for Natsuo become even stronger after he risks his life for her against a stalker, and she's determined to see him succeed as a writer but still doesn't reveal that she has romantic feelings for him. She becomes increasingly more "domestic" after that event, in particular, doing everything she can to support him and his writing.
During the climax arc she once again protects Natsuo's future from a potential scandal from a reporter looking to get a scoop by revealing the very photo that got her and Natsuo separated earlier on, while also saving Rui's life from an accident. Said event also ends up being the catalyst to reveal the full truth of her feelings, though not by her directly.
