Cage of Eden is a mixed bag of seemingly ever extending ambitious mysteries and tiresome shounen tropes at every turn.

From what I understand this series got axed and it's good to take this into consideration when evaluating it. Regardless, cons are cons no matter the cause.

+ Story is initially interesting. You are presented with a huge mystery and action-packed sequences from the very get go.
+ Art seems fine, though a tad generic. Especially girls and middle-aged men(also known as 'ossan') are hard to tell apart.
+ Science bits about various natural phenomena and extinct animals are actually interesting(though I have confirmed some of the theories ... presented in this series to be debatable).

+/- Fan-service is plastered all over this like grease; even someone as insensitive as me started to feel slightly overwhelmed. I see this manga is listed as 'ecchi' here and that's what it truly is.

- Shounen tropes, too much is simply too much. Once you get into the 'flow' of the author, you can start predicting a lot of things. You'll know when a character is about to die; you'll know when someone is about to get attacked; you'll know when a chapter is about to end in a cliffhanger. Despite being a mystery manga there are very few surprises; everything is foreshadowed, creating a feeling that the author is constantly holding you by the hand. This is not a good thing.
- Character development is abysmal. Most of the characters are like NPC's; completely meaningless unless the MC needs them for something. The character developments that do happen mostly involve deaths that don't really make you feel anything because that character was not that essential to begin with.
You will also probably notice that most deaths involve males as the women are too busy joining MC's harem.
- Despite tons of ecchi content prepare yourself for teeth-grinding frustration as the MC and his #1 wife candidate repeatedly flirt with each other and tease the readers about some potential development- before finally returning back to square one. Repeat this enough times and I was ready to skip these sequences.
It's like watching Ash on his eternal never-ending adventure in the Pokemon titles.
- The series got axed as I mentioned before and as a result the ending is a hot mess. Prepare to the fact that many of the mysteries will remain forever unresolved. Reading this to the very end left me with just an empty, unsatisfied feeling.

Ended up giving a 6 for this show, could've been a 7 with some major changes to the plot. Then again I don't really like pure romance/drama series so I could be somewhat biased against this but I really don't feel like this deserves a 7.

This is a time- travelling series about a girl who has lost her ability to see colors for reasons I cannot mention without spoilers. Her grandmother sends her back in time in hopes that she could experience a more fun youth, instead of moping around being super pessimistic(this is her the entire series). You'd think that time- travel sounds like ... a super risky gamble where a billion things could go wrong but none of the characters seem worried so neither was I.

+ Great visual values. The characters look kind of generic but the buildings and landscapes look simply gorgeous. I personally liked it a lot.
+ Great music. I really liked both the OP and ED and listened to them on my own a couple of times. There is also some awesome BGM during some of the animation "wow"- moments. Overall adds a good bit of spice.
+ Some great movie like "magical moments" I had to go back and rewatch.

+/- Voice actors seem like good picks though the female voices' high pitch tends to tire my ears out as usual. MC's voice is very bland.

- The plot... there isn't really a lot of it? I can't really talk about it without risking to spoil the little there is but, no, this "story" is just about nostalgia and memories, nothing really happens here.
- The characters are, like I said, the fairly generic, ultra-positive Japanese High School students. 13 episodes being short enough as it is, it's hard to get emotionally attached to these talking dolls.
- The magic element seems like it was just slapped on the top of this show, don't expect any Harry Potter- level of depth from this magical world. People don't seem to use magic for really anything else but some light entertainment.

I gave this a 4/10.

+ Okay animation quality, looks clean.
+ I like Nasuhara-san.
+ Some funny moments here and there.

+/- Music/OST is nothing special.
+/- Seems to have a really hard time deciding between censoring or not censoring the nipples on tiddies.

- The little sister trope this anime is built around gets old very fast (believe me, you don't want to hear the word "imouto" for a while after watching this).
... - MC is the usual bland, generic and incidentally super dense harem protagonist practically drowning in you know what. Makes you wonder what the girls even see in this poker face machine.
- No other interesting characters besides Nasuhara-san (the blond girl).
- Harmless joking aside, I personally do not really warm up to incestuous relationships.

Overall a below average harem piece in my opinion. Nasuhara did make me laugh though^^

After finishing this series I was immediately swept over by a wave of disappointment due to the lackluster and, frankly, horrid way this series decides to end itself. The anime adaption does not cover all the events of the original work, though the ending there is even more disappointing I dare say.

First of all, this series is listed as a "harem" but that's not true at all. The MC is cockblocking himself from what seems like a would-be harem. I strongly believe the story would've been much more coherent had they not tried going down the harem route and limited the number of romantic ... interests to two. Now I get the feeling they tried to do harem but gave up halfway through, ending up with this confused mess.

The animation itself is nothing of particular note, openings and endings were nothing memorable as far as I'm concerned and VAs got their job done.

I rate this a 5/10 due to how bad the ending is; it makes a lot of the plot and character development from the previous season plus this season meaningless.
