So I saw the first season of the anime and did not find it all that interesting. Someone said the manga does a better job. And its also rated high. Maybe I'll get more underwater scenes.....maybe better jokes.....All that in mind, I got the first 10 volumes and dived in expecting a wonderful time.
But instead of the expected scenario of me rolling on the floor laughing, I was swiping hard to get through it. Nothing ever happens in this manga. Its the same repetitive cringe inducing and cliched "jokes" throughout. Relationships don't progress. Incels don't change. No one talks about studies, even though they are

literally enrolled in a college. They don't even seem to take classes. And an anime about diving, rarely talks about diving. I was expecting to see more ocean, instead I got to see the pathetic lives of people I don't care about....wait that's too lenient......instead I got to see the pathetic lives of people I now hate with all my heart. And did I mention the blood related sister who spies on her brother through a webcam?!
Yes, you either leave Grand Blue after season 1 or you stick to the manga long enough to see yourself hating these boring, two dimensional characters from the bottom of your heart. There are no laughs to be had. If this is comedy, I am the funniest person alive. I don't know who these people are who give it a 9. I don't want to meet them ever in my life.
