This movie did everything right and did an excellent job adapting the manga. It even elevated it with the animation, music, and voice acting.
All though the story can seem short and not have enough development for characters and mite seem like a typical sad story. The main premise of the story is a metaphor for Fujimotos self struggles and how he was torn on what direction he should go in life. He ties his own struggle into this beautiful story about 2 kids drawing manga. The two girls represent a different half of Fujimoto (Fujino and Kyomoto) which spell out his name if put together.
