Ok, this season was basically tournament with people vs people plans underneath it, typical of the genre, but I liked this season because it brought back things I love about the first series of Vanguard while having the new things grow still. The fights are being played as actual fights in the series before and not that completely garbage, should have been kept for the movie only, fighting that they did in the first season that basically kept me from watching it till I marathoned it. I'm very, very happy about that, but not as excited and happy as I was to see even more
...
of the cast of the first generation coming back into the show and showing exactly what the second generation has to climb over while also, obviously, helping in stopping the main antags from doing whatever it is they want to do with the Units from Cray.
This season is really just about the continued growth of the main three characters and set up for what must come after which is why things ended the way they did and why events happened the way they have. Anyone who is reading this I hope you got that beforehand because it lets me know that you have been in this genre long enough to get it. The bgm is better than before, the looks is still Bushiroad, and Ren-sama is still legit best guy ever so fuck it come watch this thing.

This came out in 07 and ended in 08, which is honestly surprising to me since I thought it was earlier, and for what it is and only seeing the English dub for it this wasn't bad. Being dubbed by 4kids would send people away usually, but actually sitting down and watching this really helped me to see that 4kids wasn't a BAD thing since it did bring a lot of anime to places where it isn't regularly around at that time and making good memories to look back on.
This series is one of the good ones to look back on because the dialogue
...
is pretty good, you get to learn about dinosaurs that aren't brought up by other famous things, you get a reminder that this was a card game as well that fell under (like Chaotic), both uses of animation in it is good, and it has two seasons for you to sit through and when it's funny I hope you'll see it too. The ending is pretty typical for this kind of anime though and there are recurring jokes, one in particular that I fucking hate. Watch it or don't, this show is on Netflix and ready for anyone to view at other places available and I'm done.

(Know that this is only about the anime and not the light novel) After seeing all the reviews and it being recced on my anime page I had to see it and I expected it to not be to my liking, now honestly I'm more disappointed with it. I do like this anime and I think it could have been good if it wasn't thanks to possibly multiple things like not having enough episodes to flush things out that needed it or they were banking on people going to some manga or novel source where it comes from to get the money. Whatever it was
...
it I don't know, but this anime was something I know could have been better if handled right all the way through.
1. The story - I think people only saw this as a harem sort of anime, probably because of the cliches showing on top, but when I watched this it's not really and the only ones who showed interest in the MC like that was Misora and Yuri who outright loved the guy.
This is actually an underdog story like the movies some of us grew up with let's see if you can see the tropes: 1. There's a bunch of misfits with personal problems in an area that they are outclassed in by others around them and no one believes in them. 2. A badass top tier that has been shamed by his soon to be justified actions becomes their teacher due to circumstances. 3. They have a rocky meet. 4. They train in their interest sucking at first and in their personal lives to overcome their own inner weaknesses. 5. They are challenged by the higher than them antagonist the whole way. 6. In the first official competition they get into they lose. 7. After a bit more training, the team is ACTUALLY ready for the upcoming tournament. 8. They win in the next one and rise through the ranks in montage and then their main antagonist opponents are last to overcome and they win.
Does this NOT sound familiar to you now? Do you SEE what I'm talking about now? That's what this actually is no matter what anyone but me tells ya because I pretty much summed this whole thing up beat for beat and since I like this kind of story I think it's good.
2. The art - The art is ok, it's nothing stellar, nothing you really say is the best thing about it though I give them some credit on their use of CGI on the monster enemy from hell, it's no Fate Stay Night nor is it Rakuen Tsuihou. It's right on the average middle that's good for anime. Special note on the way they die, it is glorious to see I recommend looking at the opening episode just to see how that it. The people's anime is anime hair, faces are faces, the things I like most though is the weapons which are, like RWBY and unlike it, are to the owners design and interesting to look at, but they aren't also a gun.
3. The sound - In terms of VAs it's all around fine, the background music is pretty MMORPG-like, boom when action is there, light and flutes and violins all around when there's character time. It's pretty ok.
4. The character - The characters are of their own trope and cliches: Kanata Age: He used to be the best, but thanks to things happening he's now known as a traitor. So to redeem himself, he has to make the worst team of Sky Wizards in terms of grades and skills a skilled and powerful one. Despite being marked a traitor, Kanata works earnestly to help out his girls and as a teacher fitting a trope he is a good one. He has an annoying habit though in that he forgets to mention crucial stuff to people before it actually happens.
Misora Whitail, she's the tsundere and after a very harem-like meeting with Kanata the two are off to bad start, but don't let that fool you. While her character may look simplistic or unattractive for some, the reason she fights and her dreams are what makes her genuine. Living with her Muggle dad and neighbors when her mom die (Disney notes taken) they don't remember her existing at all (Not explained deeper in the anime) and it conflicts on Misora and her dad's relationship, but this is also what drives her to use her mom's blade gun and become a great Sky Wizard, to be a reminder to those who don't remember her that she was great and amazing.
Lecty, she has the highest potential to fuck your shit up in a fight, her only problem though is that she's incredibly shy and lacks confidence thus ruining her potential. Once you get to know the pressure she has, when you know where she comes from, it all becomes understandable. You even start to sympathize with her if you yourself have been there. Over the course of the show, it constantly puts her in what can be seen as fanservice moments, but it's a different kind of fanservice that actually HELPS the character to grow and works in the plot around her.
Rico, the self-proclaimed goddess of the group. She believes that she is the perfect human being, in terms of looks and skill there's no counter. Never forget, everybody has their weakness and Rico isn't an exception. No matter how she tries to play it off, she isn't perfect, in fact, it's her inferiority of her sister that lead her into this arrogant way of thinking that gave her this mind process. Her growth comes in the form of letting her inner-self come out and being able to work with her team and getting over the loser mentality that she doesn't let known.
By the end of the series it all comes to a helm with all of the characters better than they were before and on greater terms with each other and the payoff is needing to be seen.
5. My enjoyment - I typically like series like this one and as I said before I like it, but am disappointed by it as well. The villains needed better explanation done onto them, one of them is needlessly made into a villain when he didn't have to be, and the end of them tournament is astounding. I will be rewatching this again though since it's still fresh in my mind and I want to take another look at it with the knowledge I have while making this review and I hope some of you also acquire this mindset when looking at it or looking at it again.
That's it.

If I should thank anyone it will be Netflix bc that is where I watched this. When I saw this on there I knew I was going to watch it eventually and when I did I ended up watching it all the way in one day and in eng dub. Thank god for it being good.
Well the story is Sadao, basically Satan, with his 2nd in command, Ashiya, go to Earth Tokyo, of course, after beating narrowly beaten in their homeworld by the hero and the forces of good, then tries to gain power there, though he is working as a part timer at
...
a parodied McDonalds and trying to rise in the ranks there till eventual takeover of the world... omg I just realized how Invader Zim that sounds. Anyways, they are not alone as other members of their world comes to Earth as well including the hero, Emilia, who tries to figure out the reason as to why Sadao doesn't just evil it up in this world like he did before.
The design of the characters are pretty stellar to me, nothing about them really got on my nerves and even the background no name characters were honestly good to look at. A few of my favs are Ashiya, James er I mean Sarue, and Suzuno. As for how the characters are, just get in there, watch the anime, see if your personality allows you to like them like mine does.
Sound and enjoyment are pretty top since I never skipped either op or ed and the ost is something I need to hear more of on youtube.
On a side note, that seal punch Sadao did on Lucifer was just amazing in execution.

Tenkai Knights is a show that you would naturally expect from Studio Bones, something worth seeing and unexpectedly good. I didn't think I would ever get around to watching this series because of how it came off to me while on tv; fortunately it was being featured on a website I go to for cartoon watching as well as anime and I am looking to watch more things this year than rewatch.
Anyways onto the brief (as well as I can) review of this series:
Story: The story of this series is a basic good force vs evil force, evil force trying to rule all and good
...
force trying to beat evil force and make everything peaceful. Though this is simple setup it has done better than most by having multiple things happen that you wouldn't expect unless the outright show it or you are good at guessing.
It can get pretty heavy for it's demographic at times, but it's stays in it's rating.
Art: Man this series looks good. If this series has anything really good about it it's the art; on the humans side the characters design looks different from one to the other, the lighting and mixing of colors is on point, and the design for characters is just right.
On the Quarton side, it isn't meh. The cgi (I guess) is better than series that use it and can't make it work especially given the fact these are Lego Blocks they are using. The fights are incredible; immersive, fast, slow, strategic, head first, whatever it wants to be ep by ep it looks good. The transformations after the going into the Quarton one are cool and by the second part of the series it gets better.
Sound: In english it's not much to talk about as the intro is the cliche 30 sec op with meh lyrics, the ed is the same op with no vocals, and the BGM was unnoticed by me. I have looked up the op and ed in japanese and of course it's better. Why? Because they don't sacrifice quality for commercial time that everyone and their gilf grandma hates (I hope there are people who understand where I'm coming from using gilf for that one and get a luagh from it) and those are good.
Characters: The characters have their own defining personality; Guren being a leader type, having a heart of gold while being forgiving and sympathetic and but can be too caught up in something to notice whats up until someone else clues them in.
Ceylan is the chuckle head of the group usually the one to crack wise and slap stick, often enough he gets someone on him that sets him on track by words to get him to take things more seriously when needed.
Toxsa is the techie gamer usually making references to ones he's played and especially one that makes me hate him when he brings it up which is nearly all the time (I'm not fond of this one). He has his good moments of course.
Chooki (name, my god) is the athlete of the group usually making sports references in some of the things he says and plays a shit ton of them though he can't fish. He is well rounded for the group and he can be pretty competitive with the others when one upped by the Ceylan or Toxsa given all he's done. Also when it comes to his last 2nd form he has the best design to me.
Gen... ok there is little to say about him other than Sasuke, but friendlier after his villain arc. I constantly laughed at his character and made jokes at some of his dialouge because of Sasuke and the voice actor helps in this.
Vilius is standard evil tyrant warlord, but also an unsympathetic dick that is powerful, smart, and Megatron like from Cybertron era.
The side characters in this series is pretty much ok as well being supportive and likable or dis likable given how you feel about them.
Enjoyment: I didn't expect myself to like it as much as I do now since I didn't watch it on tv and was unappealing to me because so, but I really do like this show. It's plays it's cards right most of the time, characters are good to tolerable (Toxsa) and I would recommend this to people that are looking for something new in action and can just let go and watch then think after.
Overall it comes down to a 6.5/10 for me and I hope you all like it more than me or if you don't like it as much or at all that you can find something better.
