Watch as this low ranked but good natured kid becomes a murderous sociopathic edgelord with zero personality or emotions. Woooow great anime.
Honestly, the only thing this anime has going for it is its visuals, but even then they're just above average. This show actually just copied the strength training routine from One Punch Man and went with it. The hilarious thing is how a lot of people who never exercise will be inspired by it and then waste their time doing a simple program that won't give any meaningful results for the time they put in. It's supposed to be a JOKE guys.
This show teaches
...
people that hard work and effort are a waste of time since we don't get a fancy UI to boost our stats. And that's a shame because hard work and effort does pay off if you focus it correctly. But for the majority of people who burn out on excessive basic exercises that don't yield good results, they will take the easy road of giving up.
This male spinelessness is why birthrates are declining.
MC: Why do people like seeing characters becoming a soulless husk of their old selves? There's literally nothing appealing or cool about the Sasuke Uchiha archetype. It is honestly the worst type of role model. There's nothing to gain from emulating the dark triad personality traits, unless you find prison exciting.
This dumpster fire gets lukewarm coffee/10

This anime really sucked. It's total garbage and a waste of time to watch. It's like waiting for a roller-coaster to reach the summit for descent, only the roller-coaster breaks down midway up, leaving everyone onboard stuck for 6 hours while the staff try to find a way to get the ride to move.
First we have the main plot, which is about a stone world and how people are trying to survive in it, and how one boy named Senku tries to use "science" to bring the world back to the modern age. Great synopsis! Well, turns out we have to watch 5 episodes or
...
so before anything actually gets started because this anime just drags its feet. Actually, this anime drags its feet throughout the entire series, and the timeline in very inconsistent. Sometimes two episodes might represent one or two days in the anime, and at other times two episodes might represent 3+ months, seemingly at random.
Another negative is all the science jargon they use. A lot of people love this anime because it's science accurate, but so what? Nobody who isn't a total science buff, or expert in the related fields/industries are going to learn anything personally useful from this. And just like studying a textbook, unless you have an eidetic memory you're going to forget almost all of the information they give you shortly after watching it anyways.
The main plot of the show is TOO SIMPLE. There's literally only one main goal, and one main antagonist. It's like watching spy vs spy, or hero beats the bad guy, only with a plethora of definitions and terms copy pasted out of technical manuals, and the implementation of the finished science products after twenty boring conversations, poorly executed gags, and a pointless stretch of viewing time, is really lackluster. There's no shock value, or awe value. It's just like, "yep, that's what that is. Ok then."
Positives -
-Senku has leek hair.
-Senku's dad is a pretty cool character.
-I literally can't think of anything else.
Negatives -
-Poor animation
-Poor background art
-Poor character art
-Atrocious and inconsistent pacing
-Lackluster reveals
-Boring lectures
-One dimensional characters
-Cringy, overly melodramatic antagonist
-Not funny
-I could have been watching something else

I'll make this review brief. I was reluctant to watch this because I thought it'd be some happy fluffy Shoujo with a lot of pastries and candy. Boy was I wrong.
This anime is so yandere that it makes Yuno from Mirai Nikki look wholesome. And anime with literal Yandere characters isn't extremely common, so this is a very nice change.
-The OP/End songs are pretty good.
-The characters look fairly standard but their personalities are absolutely extreme. Just don't expect realistic personalities. This anime is the Kill la Kill of character personalities, which may be a negative for some, but not a big deal for others.
-A good
...
amount of shock value that will make you wonder what could possibly top the last f***** up thing you saw.
-The animation is fair, nothing to brag about but it's not bad either.
-The pacing is just right. There are several plot developments in each episode, and at least one really f***** up scene for each.
Overall I give this anime an 8/10 because it is a fresh take on the crazy yandere trope.

I rarely gives out 10's, and if I do, it is usually for subjective reasons of personal preference, so bear that in mind.
Story 8/10 - Considering the theme, it is pretty good.. Well executed from opening, middle, and conclusion for each episode. I rate the consistency of episode progression from an objective standpoint, since a standard for scene progression is closer to a science in the industry.
Art 9/10 - There are some scenes that are beautifully drawn, and that made me want to get out and go explore nature. However, there are also some less than stellar scenes that look like the drawings were drafted
...
on a budget or during crunch time, so I take one point off.
Sound 10/10 - When an anime gets this right, for many people, it can absolutely impact the entire atmosphere and memorability that a show provides. Happily enough, Yuru Camp pulls off the sound excellently, and it ends up conveying a very positive and happy mood in the OP, which engages the viewer and gets them excited to tag along for an adventure. Then at the end of the episode, the ED chosen is a very relaxing song that you might imagine yourself lounging back to under dim lights before peacefully going to sleep after a long days adventure filled with good memories.
Character 8/10 - The sort of moe archetypes you find in Yuru Camp are just that, common archetypes. However, they fit perfectly in theme with the anime, so it's hard to argue the need to reinvent the wheel when it spins just fine. The uncommon anime settings that the characters are placed in (camping!), however, gives their archetypal nature some much appreciated diversity that prevents the characters from coming across as a redundant cliche.
Enjoyment 10/10 - This is where I express my subjective take. I love a variety of genre's in Anime, and generic Moe is... One of those genre's that I'm not a huge fan of. However, I've always had a soft spot for Slice of Life and unconventional themes in Animation, and that's what this anime is, with it's uplifting theme of hopeful, joyous happiness that is reminiscent of youthful ignorance and optimism. Truly, it's a show that depicts a completely unprejudiced, non-judging, peaceful world devoid of any of the hardships that are prevalent in real life, and "camping" is the metaphorical vehicle used to express the optimism, peacefulness, wonder, and exploration of the unknown in a positive, fun light.
Overall 10/10 - The show acted as a temporary cure/escape from my long term, high functioning depression. It is incredible at lifting spirit and was a joy to watch. Other users are not far off in calling this anime therapeutic.
Lastly, I could have just as easily given this anime an 8/10, which I'd say is closer to an objective score. However... You know, sentiment and all. I like to round up the score to reflect the individual impact the show had on me as a viewer, and hopefully to encourage others to look past some of the meta number crunching and go with what they feel they will enjoy.
