I don't understand this anime. The whole anime and character development of the MC is based on the double talk, lies and reverse psychology of the people in his team. I mean not one person who contributes to MCs development through honest talk. People borderline abuse the MC emotionally to the point of insulting his mother, but somehow it is supposed to be some sort of motivational push INTENTIONALLY done by the said people. I know it's a fantasy story, but I doubt anyone will grow to be better with such treatment in real life. Anyone with a little self-respect would find another way to ... succeed than to bow down to people who insult his/her family. It started off really well, personally disappointed as the story progressed.

Why I am rating this so high you say??? Because I couldn't stop laughing, :-D thinking how stupid this is. This anime takes echi and absurd to a different level. Every time someone comes up with a new attack I start grinning. If you don't worry about plot and just want to laugh at something stupid, like a cat shiting on a dog video, you've got to watch this anime. The concept behind this is so stupid that is it is good. Gate of Babylon of Gilgamesh you say???!! This has Gate of Bootylon. Literally!!!

P.S. MAL, people should have the freedom to write ... short reviews. Writing unnecessary long reviews makes no sense. Not everything requires long reviews.

Never seen a more arrogant, dumb, annoying MC. This gut honestly makes Kirito look 10 times better. It is beyond belief how stupid this MC is. You line up every loudmouth MC is anime history and this guy will annoy those guys. Hours of my life wasted. And I don't plan to waste anymore. I don't want to write anymore but MAL tells me to write longer, which will only make the review saltier. I mean going into this I had so much hope, kind of a fresh concept to Isekai genre. Anime design is good. But I don't understand why the ... writer had to make the MC so insufferable.

Brilliant!!! This show portrays the end of the world beautifully with two primary characters and what becomes their primary goal. The contrast between what is normal in a regular world and how it is different after humanity is destroyed is shown so perfectly. How it narrated the mindset and reaction of two young women in such a situation in contrast to how adults would react in such situation is just brilliant. There are multiple moments in the entire series that makes you think twice about your life, and how precious things can be in a situation where the story is based on, and the same ... things that we take for granted. Some people might find the pacing a little slow, but that is the whole point of the story. End of the world as we know it and there is no concept of time or job or school or any kind of day to day activity. And in the situation, just two girls trying to survive. A fast-paced story would rather be inappropriate for that. I found the pace to be perfect and soundtrack used was nice and fit perfectly with the storyline and the moments. It is a gem that many people might ignore, but in a world that we live in that is constantly at the brink of annihilation, I think this series is just Brilliant!!

P.S. Not for people who are more interested in fanservice, cliche, or high pitch over the top characters.

The reason I gave this an 8, is because of pure enjoyment. For anime lovers, we constantly watch with complex stories. However, that isn't always fun. The elitist anime fans will judge you based on what you call good or bad. But that doesn't have to be the case always. I like this anime cause how I can enjoy each episode without giving my heart to much pressure. When you watch shows like Fate/Heavens Feel or AOT, you are constantly on the edge. You don't know what to expect and your heart and mind are constantly going through a rollercoaster. Now, Both the anime I ... mentioned are amazing. However, sometimes one needs to get away from that emotional torture and relax. And that's when this anime shines. Good things happening to good people. And not bad for your heart. Something that doesn't keep you up at night after watching, as the underlying incidents of rape in Fate or Eren's mother being eaten on AOT.
