Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has concluded and the biggest accolade I've seen attributed it that, not only has Frieren revived the fantasy genre, reinvigorated Madhouse's position, but most notably, that it is an anime free of tropes/clichés — but the last point isn't reflective of reality. What makes Frieren special is how it handles tropes that makes it free from cliché. A common take I dislike is that tropes are inherently bad, they aren't. Many tropes can vibrate with the essence of said character, it is just the lack of characterization associated with the trope that makes many meaningless, and thus, cliché. Frieren can be
...
argued, at least in the beginning, to be a Mary Sue, but the more you learn, she isn't exactly one. Her power doesn't come from just because, but rather, her immense dedication to her passion of collecting magic for the past millennium. Stark has the trope of an overpowered character who doesn't believe in his own strength, classic.. but he suffers from impersonator syndrome, he doesn't even believe in himself. Instead of that notion coming out of nowhere, he has, albeit flawed, a reason nonetheless. The use of a trope is of his character itself, not as a cliche.
In fantasy shows, elves are generally very long-lived, and you will not believe who is an elf.. Frieren. To an elf, a lifespan such as ours is very short lasting, as time is essentially distorted. What is 10 ENTIRE YEARS to us may feel as if it was a month for her. What's a reasonable time for an elf to visit a friend is almost an entire generation.. or 3. But this is what establishes the beauty of Frieren.
People have called Frieren a “kuudere”, which is an archetype of a character who is outright detached from emotions; in essence, yes, Frieren is reminiscent of such an archetype, yet, she is not. She experiences emotions, and throughout my life, I've evolved too. From crying at an embargo of chocolate pudding and being isolated in my chambers for hours on end (mom said it's bedtime and no snacks); but, if for whatever reason, my mother repeated that, I, in my love for chocolate pudding, wouldn't shed a tear, it’s a bad example, but I've grown up. How I experience and express emotions has matured, and who knows through the experiences of a mage who has lived for over 1,000 years, how she expresses and experiences emotions has evolved? – The biggest issue with kuuderes, to me, is you cannot attach your emotions to most of them, you cannot empathize, you cannot relate to them. They are seemingly emotional androids, but you can and do with Frieren -- unlike a kuudere, she isn't emotionless, she's emotionally distanced. The show and its beauty isn't about experiencing emotions for the first time, she has already shown an abundance, and clearly, it couldn't be her first time, but it is to value why you can and do feel those emotions and the time associated with the memories/present that evoke such emotions. To value the people you have in your life and to be empathetic to those around you too. Frieren is shown many times, even if she has difficulty understanding emotions, to care and worry just as deeply.
With this, I took as a message to appreciate time, to live life for what it's worth, even if you feel you have the time to laze around, there is also much more you can do in your life – and the lack of appreciation can snowball into regret, Frieren thought she had all the time in the world, and she was correct, but her beloved did not. It has helped me realize how limited our time is, without the existential crisis, and to appreciate who we have, when we have them. Animes have moved me, instead of idolizing values preached, this anime has spurred me into action to actually.. do. I've spent more time with my family, I've started to apologize a lot more, as the time spent with negativity, with what time we have, are ill-spent. I already knew it, but Frieren pushed me to do it.
Shows, in their purest forms, have two things: intention & obstacle. One Piece? Luffy (main character, if you somehow didn't know) wants to be the pirate king -- that is his intent, now the obstacle is the government, who hates pirates; and other pirates. But where is this formula in Frieren? Of course, we have setbacks, but setbacks aren't exactly obstacles, just as going to nana's house and there being a roadblock (very rude roadblock!) doesn't mean it's impossible, it essentially just requires a detour that may delay you. The episodes are so compact with details and an undertone of pure enjoyment, episodes can feel like they flew by, but you’re left satisfied feeling you’ve actually learned about the world, its magic, the characters, all of it. The show, for me, hasn’t dragged out once. People can enjoy shows who do that, hell, I watched all of One Piece. But, there are times when I am anything but fond of it. Frieren allows you to love it, if you, of course, so choose to. But the show is about and focuses heavily on the present and not, “when will this happen?” or “this is the goal we’re going to accomplish btw!! :3” – For example, while I am interested in seeing what this "heaven" thing is all about.. the fact I have rarely put that much thought into seeing the goal and more into the journey.. Its ability to accomplish such a feat of keeping you enthralled is a testimony to its paramount storytelling.
One thing many animes preach, with Frieren not being an exception, is that collectivism is better than individualism, yet, their execution makes the messaging fall flat. A character can be so insanely overpowered or always lucky that it ruins the idea of actual group work and learning together. While some animes can execute that part successfully, some further fall flat as the character can still end up remaining self-centered/individualistic. Frieren, however, doesn't make this mistake. In many instances, the characters have to work together, independently, but for an overarching goal and to fight in an accommodating way which accounts for each other's strengths and weaknesses; most notably in episodes 8-10. Even if Frieren can probably win without much difficulty, she is both an ally and a teacher, and whilst those under her care may doubt their strength, Frieren knows they can endure & succeed and encourages the working-together aspect. Which we see even more within the Mage Exam Arc.
I love almost everything about Frieren, especially the visual storytelling, there is almost, if not any, unnecessary dialogue just for the sake of it. You can see communication in people's visible expressions, their pause, their hand gestures, etc., which communicate people's emotions and change. Take the ballroom for example, we see Fern initially apprehensive at Stark's hand, then comfortability, then happiness. And while it's nice to learn one's mindset and characterization, internal monologue aren't always necessary, and in my opinion, takes away from the scene and focuses on the character instead of the moment. Frieren balances the dialogue, allowing for truly amazing moments. It develops relationships between people, Fern & Stark are the highlight of that. We see characters get closer and learn to confide in one another, have banter, mess around, it not only feels, it is organic.
I've seen arguments such as "who's the better couple? Deku x Explosion-Guy or Deku x Guy-Who-Couldn't-Dodge-The-Kettle" and to me, it feels like a cop-out, just "oh. my. god. he works hard? i am in love" WHAT DO YOU MEAN? THAT'S IT? - I've been in love before, it can feel as sudden as that, but there are building blocks that set the fundamental foundation to allow yourself to properly fall in love; to trust, to love, to feel comfortable, everything. Instead of showing us a random loaf of bread, it gives us crumbs that build the bread itself, you see the dough form and mold into the bread itself, that you can see.
Additionally, with the characters, we have huge differences. Characters actually feel like characters, and I love all of them. We actually see growth and characters mellowing out as the series progresses. There are some people I haven’t seen or spoken to in years, yet, they were awesome people, even if I knew them for a short time, but y’know, the world is small sometimes, I am sure I’ll meet at least one of them again in the future – but this is also what’s beautiful about Frieren, we have outstanding characters we may or may not see again, but the fact we were able to be introduced to such characters is what I find special and realistic about Frieren. Also, reasonings. Stark started his journey with Frieren as his master requested it, and he wanted to give great stories to his master. To Fern, on the other hand, who lost her family in war, and Heiter, who saved her life, Frieren is essentially the only family she has left. With the juxtaposition of their reasonings and chemistry, plus love for Frieren, I find it very special.
People generally give accolades to a talented creator for their music composition in a series, which Evan Call, by all accounts, rightfully so. But no matter how good a soundtrack is, if the anime studio uses it improperly or doesn't let the music truly take its form, bringing a scene to the emotional place we need to truly appreciate the sentimental aspects of the show to even greater heights, the music is then, tragically, equated to jack when misused. Madhouse, in practically every instance, used the soundtrack properly at every perfect instance, they let it play out and let the emotions hit deeply, and it works. The soundtrack is my favorite from Evan Call, and I cannot imagine one more fitting for Frieren. I give my props for Madhouse giving the respect Evan deserves by utilizing his music so skillfully and efficiently, and Evan for composing it as masterfully as he has.
Lastly, the visuals. There’s not much I can say which can articulates the appreciation it deserves, but it is genuinely an amazing fest on the eyes, how amazing the backgrounds are crafted, which can be appreciated, from things as simply being seen as a hand behind the flower, you can appreciate the beautiful world that Frieren lives in and you are, alongside her, on a journey on. For a show more philosophical and somewhat laid-back, it genuinely may be, especially as of Episode 26, the best animated show I have ever seen. The visuals are insane during fights, with beautiful colors bringing and the power that can truly be felt in your room, and it truly brings out the heart and soul of the animators, voice actors, and every component that is in the show.
Frieren is at its strongest with characters, and while I wish to fangirl in the most masculine way further, and would’ve given more specific examples, but I do not want to spoil the show further for those who read my review without having been exposed to the show previously. I encourage you to watch it, it may take a bit or be strong during the first episode, but it will become a soft, if not, all-time favorite. It has touched places in my heart and pushed me forward to places that I never expected to be moved from a piece of media, it has opened my eyes even further. Thank you to the amazing staff who made the show as great as it is, the mangaka & their artist, voice actors, and everybody. For all of this and how it spoke to me, this is the greatest show I have ever watched. Even though it just ended, I’ve watched over 75 episodes of Frieren due to how many times I’ve already rewatched it. Additionally, thank you to all who have read my review too. This anime is a perfect 10/10; in characters, story, animation, art, sound, everything.
P.S: One thing I see many people didn't take note of is how dedicated the sound team was, when Frieren jumps or tilts her head, you can actually hear the sound of her earrings moving, I thought that level of detail was genuinely so amazing. :^)

Now now, i'm trying to be as fair as possible with the score. Keep in mind, the enjoyment is high. I highly recommend for a quick, wholesome read. Considering there's only 10 chapters out currently.
-- Story: (3/10)
The story isn't anything special, Shota-kun (Theo) was tragedically abandon by his parents at a young age, the age where you wouldn't recall a thing as you were too young. Fortunately for him, an elderly couple picked him up and he revered them similar to a parental figure, as he considered them his grandparents. But sadly, they both died. Aged 12, Theo realized to survive in this world, one
...
needs power. Also, this is set in a fantasy world (like Konosuba), but! Theo isn't the strongest, hence why he wants power (lol). So he worked helping mercenaries by carrying baggage and whatnot, as again, he isn't the strongest. So fast forward, he's now 14 and looking into this magic stuff. Sees a summoning ritual for the devil in many books, and we should know what he wants. Power! Upon mentally preparing himself for this, well, he didn't. He didn't even know what the devil was. But, he then took it upon himself to summon this demon. Now, the wish you've been waiting for, with the devil's mesmerizing beauty, he wishes for her to marry him! Completely unexpected for the ones who haven't read the name of this manga! But, we see the newly-wed life of these two, and man. It's great and wholesome. Fun to read. Though, you can see almost all of what I explained literally just in the first few pages. But it's a mix of episodic and sometimes loosely consistent chapters. If you wanna see where it goes, read the manga man! But there isn't any overarching story that's building up or anything, just a mix bagged of goodies really
-- Art: (6.5-7/10)
For the art, it's good. Not on the level of Vagabond, Berserk, One Punch Man, but good to the point where you might stop and think, man this is some pretty decent art. To me, it isn't just good enough to the point where you're just only satisfied with the work, but good enough to the point where you might take a second and appreciate the work every now and then. Very satisfactory work. No complaints.
-- Characters: (5/10)
The most frequently shown characters, (Helvi, Theo, and the receptionists), all have their own unique and fun personalities. But, if you're looking for deep, thought-provoking characters, wrong manga bro. The characters, to be blunt, aren't deep or anything of the sort. However, they're absolutely are fun and enjoyable, and I am wanting to see much more of them. However, to say they're even decently written would be an overstatement. They're a fair set of characters objectively speaking, nothing is absolutely amazing or going great for them. But if we have similar teste, they'd be heavily enjoyable these set of characters. Again, unfortunately not good though.
-- Enjoyment: (8.5-9/10)
I was scrolling on Twitter and saw a few panels of this, posted by a friend, man, I don't regret asking because I had such a fun read with this, unfortunately, chapters aren't too frequent, which is a shame. But y'know, it's fine.. as long as we get a chapter every now and then. But I can assure you, if you like wholesome and cute, you'll absolutely enjoy the fuck outta this as did I. Worth the read, and I thoroughly enjoyed all the chapters which are out. Only like one chapter I didn't enjoy as much, but it was still enjoyable. Maybe as it goes on, I won't enjoy it as much. But I can only speak for right now.
-- Overall: (6.5-7/10)
There isn't anything about this manga that is so deep, thought-provoking, or really anything for this to get a score of atleast an 8. But the characters are fun and the enjoyment factor is high, high enough to get a 7/10 from me, for now atleast. Is this a surefire manga you're bound to enjoy? Who knows. All up to personal preference. But for now, I recommend this considering the fun read.
Hope you enjoyed the review and founded it helpful, hope it wasn't too long. Have a good day! -- on a side note, this was a quick drift. if u think some parts need to be rewritten/fixed, lmk. ty

It's over, after over a year when it should've ended, it's over! No, I'm not saying it should've ended because it's bad, but rather, for the staff man. Y'know, this anime would be better off as a seasonal anime or something.
Black Clover has some of the worst comedy though. No question. Plus, I can completely understand why people dislike or like this anime
Black Clover, how can I put this.. it's somewhat like a bag of carrots, where the carrots aren't even that good at all (rather they're not that great (bad) lol). But, before you drop this bag in the garbage, you stupidly take another
...
carrot giving it another chance, and coincidentally, that carrot actually taste superb..? Like, genuinely good, so you eat the rest of the bag thinking there'll be something of that caliber, but honestly. you might regret that. Because there were maybe 2 carrots that tasted actually good out of the 9, but you might not be entirely sure about that other one. It just tasted a bit better than the other 7. This great carrot or whatever is none other that Arc 8, the Elves Reincarnation Arc, which officially spans from episodes 94-157, but you can just say it actually spans to the 94-120/130ish episodes range. This, was the best thing BC has made and I think that will be the only amazing thing it made, who knows though? I'm stupid enough to keep eating the carrots, hoping it will be anywhere near that caliber of that specific carrot. Maybe not, but I'm still hoping!
Though, the last few episodes were actually pretty good. Because I was engaged and found the arc a bit interesting, and a main reason I did was because of the introduction of Nacht Faust. We may have just met him, but he's already one of the best characters in the series (I'm an anime-only so I don't know if I'll dislike him later in the future adaptations)!
But honestly, BC is a mess of things, cliche, and all of that. It can be tiring on how much of a shounen this anime is with all these plot convenience and whatever. Is it worth your time watching 93 episodes for it to get good for like 30 episodes, just for it to dip in quality by a whole lot, just for it to go back up, not even by a lot, just only a little bit? Depends, if you enjoyed the first 10 episodes, I'd say yes. If not, probably ain't worth your time. I mainly watched this show because there are moments where I'm hating the story, but enjoying it. Though it can feel like it drags on for a while and certain points. So yeah. Mainly outta enjoyment purposes and cause I first started watching this a year ago.
The last dozen episodes had some bad episodes, but it had its fair share of great ones too. Like the last 3 episodes especially were all great, ep 168-170 were super fun and actually great episodes. Won't lie.
Now, thinking about it. I was just getting into anime, so maybe my opinion on it being enjoyable shouldn't be taken too seriously.. not sure.
~ Story: (5.5/10)
In a world where everybody has magic, we met twins who one has magic and the other, lol no. First time that happened! They also rivals btw, and uh, ones insanely powerful (not the mc), and the other one has to catch up to him lol. It turns out, Yuno, who has insanely amazing magical power isn't even a twin, he's royalty! Amazing, so no hope for those who aren't royalty, they get weak power always, so it's just "No hope for those who arent royalty, sucks if u arent tho!"
Though, it was a nice reveal won't lie, mainly cause I wasn't expecting that.. and I'm lazy. If you think I'm going to go more in-depth, nah.
Now, the story isn't mediocre. The anime isn't either, infact, I put the anime at a 6, when in truth, it's a 5.75/10. It's mainly here because of some fair arcs (Arc 3, 4, 5, and 9.), and one great/good arc (Arc 8), all the others were mid or just bad. No arc I felt was anything lower than a 4/10. plot isn't something unique either, you probably heard of something very similar. There are moments in this show where after an episode ends, it leaves you raising an eyebrow, wanting to know what will happen next, and then moments where you ask yourself, "When will this show enddddd?!" (ended the day of this review) There are good and bad moments, more bad than good though.
~SIDENOTE~
All the arcs were enjoyable to me though, most of them are bad story-wise. Though, I will say, I watched this show for almost a year now, so it could be a bias maybe. I started actually getting into anime like in very late 2019, Dec maybe, and was gone for most of March, so I came back on like March 18th, and started watching Black Clover 2 weeks after, so idk how to rate this fairly. Might rate it lower if I started watching this yesterday, not sure.
~ Art: (7/10)
The art is just good, there are moments where the art is a 8.5/10, next moment, a 2-3/10. It's terribly inconsistent, kind of like Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, but that's a bit more consistent. But, their staff only had to work like on 1-2 cours per season, while BC didn't. Not much to say here, all-in-all, the artwork is definitely pretty good. Props to the staff.
Last dozen of episodes, the art was pretty great cause it was consistent. But soon, some fight scenes were just "ok, why is the art like this?" cause they had little time and maybe low budget and it seriously looked like it was done in moments, or as soon as possible because they needed to submit the episode in 3 minutes time. Still, some episodes looked great, like ep. 169 for example looked great in general.
~ Sound: (8.5/10)
For some characters, it sounds like they got a random stranger off the street and just said, "yo, buddy, wanna work on an anime?" and for others, they choose a fitting voice actor. No disrespect to any of their work though, it's just that their voice doesn't fit the characters too well imo.
But the sounds as in like OSTs, OPs&EDs, and stuff like that? It's damn GREAT! Probably out of all the more new-gen animes, it has some of the finest music, yknow? If I heard any of that, no complaints from me there. It's a nice listen. Maybe a 9.25/10 there. Really like the OSTs and stuff.
But don't let that be the reason you watch this show. If you want an ok show at best, 10/10 sound, 9/10 visuals, watch Classroom of the Elite (unless if you want a great story, read the light novels for Classroom of the Elite, bad adaptation).
~ Characters: (5.25/10)
Probably the worst part of the show. Characters like Yami, Nacht Faust, and the Wizard King are actually pretty damn good characters. But that's it.
Asta is just "AGGGGUUHH! AHHHHH!!!" -- Nothing really noteworthy about him too, don't hate him though
Noelle is just "BAKASTA! (oh god i hope he loves me)" -- Sure, she's cute. Okay? But still just a typical tsundere with atleast some difference than all the others.
Luck isn't bad, but all he is like is: "Haha! Fight me" -- Can be a fun character, but y'know, just "FIGHT ME!! FIGHT ME!!" bit annoying
Yuno is just "I'm silent person, so im cool or something" -- we barely even know him too, just that he's Asta's rival.
Characters here are probably one you've seen before, quite a bit of the characters aren't that bad at all, actually pretty decent or even good. But the majority of them, or important ones, well. They just either shit or okay..
Charmy is just a terrible character though, idc. I don't need to go on, or rather, I don't want to.
~ Enjoyment: (7.75/10)
I started this anime a year ago, 1 year ago, I had maybe less than 1.5 weeks of anime watched? (For reference, I have nearly 11 at the time of writing) So, seeing something like this, I was hooked because I found it enjoyable. But I have no memories of this being a bad show, but same with a great show with an amazing story, just mainly fun. If somebody told me, BC is damn fun and has some good arcs, I'm giving this a 7-8. I wouldn't argue cause I can kinda understand that anything higher is just a damn no.
Recently, however, I haven't found it that fun at all, some good moments, but more
or less, it can feel like a chore, but I can 100% see why somebody can enjoy the fuck outta this. Just not fun for me anymore, though I did enjoy the last 4 episodes and the beginning of Arc 9.
~ Overall: (5.75/10)
Overall, it's not mid, but it ain't exactly not mid. I'm too lazy to make my review good or whatever, just gonna make it passable because i'm tired and I just wanted to make this review for ??? reason. idk why i made this, thats all. have a good day, and this review jus my opinion, yall entitled to your own.

Oh, it's already over? Goddamnit. I want more already -- and it just ended on me like that.
But, I'll review it in my sorrow this season of Dr. Stone, (if you're perhaps looking for a review to know whether or not Dr. Stone is worth it? It is. Get on it) so okay, let's get on to it.
But before I begin, Dr. Stone can most certainly be described as cliche or their talks can be bloated at times, though thats a bit rare. But it certainly makes up for it.
~Story (7.5/10):
Dr. Stone's story, plot, whatever you wanna call it is, generally speaking, is a good
...
plot. Nothing so profound, it isn't something so deep or thought-provoking you'd have to think for a good few minutes to digest the episode. Rather, when an episode ends, or for me at least, I just feel a rather gratifying feeling, For Dr. Stone, you should seriously expect things to be done with science, and always that. But the thing is, it's realistic, it isn't something they're pulling out of their ass. All things in Dr. Stone are definitely plausible and can be done in real life (some things shouldn't be mimicked in real life, but it really does work!). Which is one thing I absolutely do love about Dr. Stone. Dr. Stone can execute such a simple story, effectively, along with maybe some of the best pacing you'll see in awhile, the pacing never feels off nor is there ever things done superfluously, it's all very sufficient. It all makes sense
Though, it kicks off pretty much right where the first season ended, I would give a quick summary of the first season for those who forgot, wanted to see it written down or whatever, I don't know. However, I don't need to, we had Gen **personally**, explain it to us in the first episode. I don't care what anybody says, that was NOT a waste of the first 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Thanks Gen.
~
HOWEVER, there's only one MAIN issue with the Dr. Stone. It's too damn short, you may argue "But bro, it's like 21 minutes (excluding op&ed) of content, what do you mean?" Well, valid point. But shut up. Please. I just love Dr. Stone and want more contenttt.
As Ellenwitch put it in their preliminary review for this season, "Stone Wars keeps you interested, only wishing that it wasn't 24mins long, and was much longer, as you'll be wanting the next episode to come out as soon as the one you are watching is finished. We're all sitting here on the edge of our sea[t], anticipating to see how the Stone Wars end." -- and also to see the next season come out preferably the next day. Though, that might be a bit taxing on the animators or there might not be enough content for another cour, yet.
~Art (7/10):
The art in Dr. Stone is pretty great.. and weak, this season definitely has improvements compared to last. I'm glad it's more consistent, however, I don't like how sometimes is just consistent then the next moment, not so much. The art in the OP looks great though, I don't have much to talk about this here, but all-in-all, they did a great job, there are times where the art definitely is an easy 8/10, for example, most of ep 8&10, and other times, where it's a 2/10, and mainly for that I have to give it a 7. But the animators still did an amazing job overall.
~Sound (10/10):
I don't need to explain, do I? The OSTs? AMAZING! The VAs? ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, IF NOT, PERFECT ACTUALLY! THE OP AND ED? THEYRE RELAXING. MAYBE OP3 ISNT AS GREAT AS OP 1 OR 2, BUT IT'S STILL DAMN NICE. THE ED? SO DAMN GOOD.
But I wanna say: Great job to the VAs for doing an such a perfect job portraying the characters. Like Senkuu for example, when he finally heard that big oaf's voice over da phone, and aswell as him being a scumbag, his VA acted him out perfectly. There are times where it isn't a 10/10, but that's quite rare. If you're looking for amazing quality in terms of sound overall and with the VAs and more. Dr. Stone is where it's at, 10/10 overall.
~Characters (8/10):
Pretty much the same old characters we should all love. But Dr. Stone truly has shown some sides of the characters we didn't see before... and just managed to make us like them even more than before! Some of the noteworthy ones is the man himself, SENKUU!! You can't forget Gen, Chrome, Kohaku, and Tsukasa. Would've said Ukyou too, but we barely got to even meet him. Overall, all the characters may not be so realistic, but they're all pretty great. Love the dynamic and all that stuff. All you need to know is, Dr. Stone = great lol
~Enjoyment (9.5/10):
Not even Senkuu's science can explain how 20 minutes go by in 5!
~ Overall (8.5/10)
Definitely better than last, especially episodes 8-11. Easily 9/10. But that concludes my review, thought I did alright for this. Hope y’all enjoyed, have a nice day. Different opinions are welcomed

Since there isn't any reviews for this. I choose to do one myself. Please note these are my own thoughts, your thoughts are your own, agree or disagree.
Ah, Re:Zero. Easily one of my favorite Anime and Light Novels. I kinda do wish I could've said so for the manga aswell. Oh, and before I start: If you haven't read the Re:Zero, or hell, if you haven't even watched the anime, I recommend skipping over this review.
-- STORY: ~(6.75/10)~
Have you ever read something that just was actually really good? Now, try explaining out loud to yourself, it's fine if you have to reiterate once or twice
...
about what transpired, but try to make it more or less like the original. A bit taxing, is it not? The story you're trying to recreate is really good, no doubt about that, but since you're trying to reproduce the feelings that you encountered as most would get from reading the original work, it can be quite hard to tell the story in the way the original did. It's no understatement to say it's difficult, with experience you can become better. Unfortunately, I wouldn't say the mangaka has too much experience with this sort of thing. That's the complete impression i've gotten out of this. But this is more or less what happened here, lack of experience in storytelling made it present itself in not the most compelling way as did the LN/anime. Still enjoyed it, however. But don't get me wrong, that's not to say it was bad. It was borderline good in all honesty. Hope they get better at it in the future
-- ART: ~(6/10)~
The art wasn't good, DEFINITELY NOT BAD though. In actuality, it's pleasant. I say this because of how visually compelling some mangas are out there. Like Vagabond or Berserk. I consider them both 10/10s, to say only 3 steps down would get you to this level just won't sit right with me. I'd say that the best artwork you might see here is a step less than what I feel the very early Gintama [manga] deserves [artistically], so yeah that's just my assessment. Though this really just dabbles in the matter of subjectivity. So, can't really say much here more than what I've said.
-- CHARACTERS: ~(7/10)~
Remember in Heaven's Arena in Hunter x Hunter where Killua drew that line of his assessment on the difference in skills between Hisoka, Hanzo, Gon, and himself? (If not, goto https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXRpFGhI_J8&t=26s) Imagine that Hisoka is the Light Novel version, Hanzon the anime, and Killua the manga version. Sure, there's still a LONG distance between the two [Hazno & Killua], however, despite them not being the farthest away, they're far enough to warrant a noticeable difference, characters don't feel the exact same and just feel, seem, and act a little different.. this manga is not too great with the characters, not saying it is bad, but definitely not great..
They give off the same vibe i guess, they aren't as well-written as in the novel and whatnot, but still, they did a pretty good job of recreating them here. It's definitely a stretch from how you'd want to be, but considering their experience and whatnot, it isn't a stretch to say, they did a good job recreating them here.
-- ENJOYMENT: ~(7.25/10)~
I do not need to explain this, do I? I personally enjoyed it. I found it to be a fun experience, it isn't perfect. It felt boring at times, but at the end of the day, I'd say it's engaging enough to be considered a 7/10 -- which is a good score in my book. That is all for this one.
-- OVERALL: ~(7/10)~
Factoring all the numbers in, I'd say it's good. Just that, and I feel I'm being just a bit generous here. But overall, I'd say it's good. Is it worth your time? Depends. Are you huge on Re:Zero? If so, then yes. If not, then maybe. I'd say maybe not completely worth your time as it isn't a very quick read, not a long one though. But if you have the time to spare, I'd recommend it. But yeah, that'll conclude my review. I might edit a few things here and there, as I submitted this without even proofreading, but I hope you enjoyed it and whatnot. Have a good day, thanks for reading.
Also, I wrote this just for fun. I didn't spend too much time on it, just did it to write.

***SPOILER-FREE REVIEW***
-- after rethinking the entirety of all my animes I've ranked, tonikawa has been lowered to a 9. though, i still think it's dumb fun that's extremely sweet and enjoyable, which i have a soft spot for. doesn't deserve a 9. but screw it. giving it one anyways!
If you told me I would rate a series that easily doesn’t deserve a 10/10 rating at the end of the day, a 10/10, I would say probably nothing as, well, y’know, that was a scenario made up in my head. But, I have never rated anything I didn't feel was a masterpiece in its very essence
...
a 10/10, other than Tonikawa of course. This show definitely got me in my weak spot, because this is the most wholesome and sweetest show I've seen so far. Far be it from me to speak in absolutes here, but I'd say even somebody who isn’t a particular fan of the romance genre would definitely appreciate this quite a bit, the proof I got are some of my friends lol. In truth, this is not a 10/10 (as I said earlier). But, I just can't. I can't rate it any lower. It makes me feels so goddamn happy and stuff while watching that I just have the smile of an idiot on my face and I can't stop looking like an idiot while watching this, all these negative feelings I had, gone. They were washed away due to how happy and refreshed I felt after every episode. Also, yes. I completely fell victim to rating it higher because of how wholesome and happy it made me feel. Though, it's just my opinion that it is a 10/10 anyhow. But that's enough of me going on and on, let's dive into the specifics.
~ Story: (6/10)
For whatever reason, most romance animes think it's a good idea to have a realistic, well-thought-out story, but Hata Kenjirou was unique and brought a different approach when making this, they thought to themselves, " " that's right. Absolutely nothing! In all seriousness, though, the story isn't too special, it's practically just their daily regime with some other fun aspects and characters involved. Not too special, right? But what's wrong with that? There's not an unwritten rule that states "It's a must-have for all romances to have a great story!", as user Ronsuma said in his review for the first few episodes of this show, "The story is nothing special, but it doesn’t have to be. You will just fall in love with the pure innocence and wholesomeness this show provides." and they're absolutely correct. But there’s one thing that stands out against all other romance animes, there isn't a complicated issue that arises in Tsuaka and Nasa’s relationship or anything likewise to that. It’s just light-hearted fun. If you're a sucker for a light-hearted romantic comedy, with some sweet innocent fun that’ll make you smile, this show is definitely up your alley. But if you're into romances with a deep, compelling story, this most likely would not be your cup of tea.
The story isn't thought-provoking nor is it so complex, it's just wholesome, sweet, innocent, funny, enjoyable, and character-driven. Though I will say, it is executed in such an enjoyable manner, thus is the main reasoning behind my 6. All-in-all, I'd say it respectively deserves a 6 at best, though I can understand why people would rate it lower.
Now, just to prove how compelling this story is, here’s a short summary of the story, which kinda only exist in the first episode: Nasa falls in-love at first sight with a beautiful girl, he goes over to talk to her(?), gets hit by truck lol, Tsukasa saves him, he then very nearly loses consciousness, but doesn’t(!) and chases after her, he confesses falls unconscious after hearing her say “Only if you marry me”, and years later they reunite, get married, and now we get to see their daily life where they experience pure bliss and happiness -- not just them, alot of people who watch this show will feel just pure bliss and whatnot, for example, me. But, alright. That’s practically the entire story you need to know, pretty hardcore stuff, I know, I know. I’ll take my praise for explaining it so simply, yet thoroughly.
~ Art & Sound: (7.5->8/10) -- rounded it
The art isn't something you'd see and think, "Holy crap! That's amazing." In reality, you'd probably think it's pretty fitting and pleasant. It isn't over-the-top nor bad at all, it's just fitting. There’s really nothing else that’s noteworthy to say about the art other than its pleasant. (6/10)
For the sound, it's pretty solid, there are no real issues, the voice actors did an outstanding job, especially with our main duo. Going more in-depth so you can comprehend the outstanding lore behind Tonikawa's sound better, for other sounds such as the sound of picking up a bag, footsteps, etc. are done pretty well, though, but most animes are pretty golden in that region, so there's really no need to gloss over this. For what I am about to say, I will assume the position of Pope so I have papal infallibility and am unable to be wrong: in terms of music, it is outstanding. 10/10, the opening and endings are amazing and I love them, and they’re played at the perfect time, and for any other opinions that may differ, though it may be subjective, are wrong. (8.5->9/10)
~ Characters: (10/10)
I just love the characters so much that a score of 10/10 seems too low a score to really show how much I loved them. The main characters, Nasa and Tsuaka have a beautiful relationship that'll leave you on your seat wishing to see more of them. Unlike in some romances, there's no male or female toxicity to the other, or in general (thank god), huge and serious fights/arguments, or anything negative in that region. It's just pure bliss for them, and for us to, as we get to watch their daily lives. Even side characters, like the Arisugawa family, Nasa's parents, Chistoe and her maids are great characters in their own rights and are super fun to see. There really isn't much more to say on this other than, I love them all. Though, I love Tsukasa the most as a character. I'm not gonna go into deep detail about them all, but they're all enjoyable. I'd like to add that Nasa is just an amazing husband and literally an encyclopedia and Tsukasa is just best girl and pretty mysterious as not much about her past is known. -- Oh, and I forgot to mention, I am no longer in the position of the Pope. So any different opinions aren’t wrong about the characters, but still, any different opinions about the music is wrong.
~ Overall: (10/10)
Granted if you factor in all the scores, it'll be roughly 8.5/10, but screw that. I love it so much that any lower seems disrespectful. I cannot understand how anybody can hate this show, but their opinions are their own and I'll respect 'em. But, I’ll admit. This show has its flaws, I stated this isn’t a masterpiece in the beginning, but it truly isn’t. I’m primarily rating on how I felt after I watched this, that’s all. Sorry for that though, I don’t ever do that.
SIDENOTE: I’m definitely gonna buy the mangas because of how much I loved this show, I’ve heard the manga is on par/even better. Here's to another season! -- If you wanna discuss this, talk, or whatever, you can always leave a reply on my profile. Also, this was wayyyy longer than I intended it to be, and apologizes for any mistakes, but I only write reviews for fun and whatnot, but I hope you enjoyed reading. I’ll make sure to get back to you. But that'll conclude my review, have a nice day.

***[ SPOILERS ] ***
--EDIT: If you want to read a review that's way better than this, maybe read Anthony_64's, HanashiD4's, Stark700's or XHellLyterX's review on this season, I enjoyed their reviews on this season the most. This review is just pure laziness and sloppy lol, and i'mtoo tired to continuing trying to write a decent review, that's why i say this.
The first part of the second season of Re:ZERO has sadly ended, but even so, I enjoyed every second of it. There were parts where it seem just chaotic and parts that were just fun to watch.
The story isn't the easily to understand if
...
I have to put it bluntly, but it isn't so black and white. At least this season is an an arc instead of 3 (as in the first season).
STORY - 9/10
The story of the second season begins with the defeat of the white whale, Natsuki Subaru finally reunites with Emilia, (without concealing his identity). Bringing up the subject of Rem because well, she confessed her undying love to Subaru and Subaru felt it was only right to tell Emilia, after doing so, Emilia responds puzzled and asks, "Who's Rem?", in response Subaru was shocked and thought she was playing games. When he arrived at Crusch's mansion (for the first time), he found her empty shell and then shortly after, committed suicide in hopes to fix this problem, and of course, the point where he comes back from death is, nowhere near Rem. Then they arrive at Crusch mansion (again), Felix then has a breakdown of some sort and whatever, but that's mainly forgotten it seems nor does it really contribute much to the story, so I will just skip over it lol
Shortly after this entire dilemma, they take their leave and arrive to the sanctuary, to find Ram, Roswaal, and the villagers situated there, it's a mysterious place housing half-breeds and everything and secrets aswell. But due to a barrier, they have to participate in these trials to set everybody free.
Also, somehow Subaru managed to get back to the mansion and stuff went to 0-100, Subaru comes back to find out that an assassin has been sent (Elsa), and Subaru tries to save everybody, no matter how much times it takes.
ART - 8/10
The studio that animated Re:ZERO (both season 1 and) Season 2 is White Fox, which they did an amazing job of adapting the story I have to say, but moving on. The art wasn't state-of-the-art, but in no way, was the art terrible at all.
To keep it compact, it was more or less the same as the first season, nothing to noteworthy. But in some certain scenes, the art is above average, mainly in scenes that bring out, or is suppose to bring out the most shock and/or feelings. Like when Subaru is suffering or dying, once again, I'll like to state the art is in no way bad. It's pretty great if I had to say. But nowhere close to the state-of-the-art.
SOUND - 10/10
SOUND? The sound is 10/10, easily. Accounting for the intro, ending, OST, VAs, it's easily a 10/10.
The OST, OP, and ED gave off a "Re:ZERO vibe", that's the best way I can describe it. It gave a similar vibe to the first and second opening while being completely different. Also, just like most animes, they used most of the OST as they did in the first season, but there were some new ones.
For the Voice Actors? They were simply AMAZING. The speech in episode 12 by Echidna was done in a single try! They portrayed the characters perfectly, all of them. They did an amazing job voice acting the characters, all their voices fit the characters and they can portray each character amazing-ly.
CHARACTER - 10/10
With Re:ZERO, there are so many different characters and personalities, it's amazing how the writer of the novels (Tappei Nagatsuki) can keep track of them, bring back the characters, maybe with a plot twist or two, but ultimately Tappei brings back characters so they aren't forgotten. I'm feeling too tired to go into depths about each and every noteworthy character so I will do what I want, I mean, this is my review, isn't it?
We meet 7 witches with the addition of Regulus and Batenkaitos which are both Sin Archbishops, representing Greed and Gluttony. They were the two we saw attack Rem (in self-defense, she Rem took the initiative) and then 'eat' Rem's memories and name. We barely had enough time to learn the personality of the other 7 witches, but we all know Echidna's personality, she's the witch of greed and wants knowledge and wants to learn. She really lives up to her title, there isn't too much I can say about her, but there isn't too little either! All-in-all, the characters and some development were great, but just act like I write a full amazing paragraph for the character segiment as I am feeling too tired to keep on writing this, my apologizes.
ENJOYMENT - 10/10
This part is really subjective, personally I found the enjoyment I've got out of this a 10/10, can't really go in-depth about this one I feel.
But yeah, my enjoyment was an outstanding 10/10. That's just my take
OVERALL - 9.4/10
Taking everything into account, 9.4 would be the score I'd give it adding all the other scores for story, art, sound, etc. I rated this a 10/10 because that's what I wanted to rate it, that's all. I'd recommend this series to anybody who can sit through the painful episodes of 12-18, just my take it was painful tho.
But whatever, have a nice day.
___
If you read this through, thanks. If you disagree, hey! That's your opinion and I can respect it. We can civilly discuss this if you really wish to, I personally don't want to see any threats due to my opinions, but I can't really stop you from doing it, can I now?
But nevertheless. Have a nice day lol ok time to sleep
also, i might just edit this later to make it better.
i guess i'm really slothful, huh

-- EDIT: I retract my statement, I think this is just an 8/10 after reading the Light Novels, and they screwed up the anime. Light Novels remain superior!
-- EDIT 2: I meant a 7/10 lol, it's fun and all, but the story and characters were nowhere near as good as in the light novel
-- EDIT 3: haha im so clumsy, 6/10
As of writing this, this is hands down, one of the most unique animes regarding the school genre. Your typical anime about school is probably a dramatic, romance, slice of life anime. But this, while being an anime with genres of drama and slice of
...
life, isn't anything like those school animes with the same genres, Classroom of the Elite is on a whole new level.
For the main characters, you have your typical tsundere beauty, but she is sharp and has her moments where it's quite the opposite, as she confuses independence with self-isolation from other people and has a sharp-tongue, I, personally don't have a problem with that, but the only issue that can cause is the character not getting along with other characters in the anime, but she seems to follow her gut here and there. For example, she had a gut feeling that (most-likely) Kikyou hated her, and she was right on the money, but perhaps, it's actually instinct. Then for the other main character, Kiyotaka, an unbelievable sharp and somewhat cunning, he is apparently "average" as he only achieved 50 on all subjects on the entrance exams, I don't have much to say about him other than the fact that he feels people are just for achieving your victory, I hope by when the Light Novel or Anime ends, he has a change of heart somehow.
Story - 10/10
The story is unique, especially considering the fact this is an anime that takes place in a school. It isn't NOWHERE near your typical school anime, at first, it seemed like a school where the teacher doesn't punish you for wrongdoings in class and you get paid to purchase your very needs. I was baffled at first on how it seems so luxurious without any conditions, but then, the following month, they didn't receive their ¥100,000 monthly-payment, that's the part where it got my undivided attention and it made complete sense. In order to survive, you need to pay heed as a class, (possibly) get good grades, and follow the rules. The story itself is so unique, I cannot comprehend how anyone could've thought any of this up. The maker of the Light Novel (which the anime is based on) is truly creative and excels at storytelling.
Art - 10/10
The art is this anime is amazing, the reason I didn't give it the highest score (10), was due to the fact a few minor details. As when someone is far away, they don't put as many details on them as you'd expect. But besides that, the art is drawn in such a way that too many things look realistic and are far beyond your average anime art expectations. The small details in everything is such a nice touch, and that even metal objects have some white fragments due to the sun's glaze on them. The character's animation and lip-syncing are nearly perfect, the only issue is the voices for the characters' lip-syncing are [very rarely] off, here and there.
Sound - 9/10
The voice actors for every character was simply put, amazing. Simple sounds are put into account, and some sounds aren't perfect nor as realistic as in real life, but it's quite good.
Character - 9/10
Most of the characters are your average student's you'd expect in an anime, the laid-back one, the perverts, the sharp one, the tsundere, the shy one, the one-who-wants-to-be-friends-with-everyone, etc. As far as character developments go, it was really good for the first season (that is if they hopefully make another season), most of the characters were enjoyable and some weren't. Like you know who from Class C (Ryueen). Class B's characters are quite nice and enjoyable, while we seem to be a little in the dark about Sakayanagi and some others in Class A, we'd most likely find out next season.
Enjoyment - 10/10
This anime pulled me in, time to time in most animes, I pull out my phone and check stuff (not including when I am being called), but with this anime, I very rarely even took out my phone, and even when I did, I paid more heed to the anime rather than my phone. Which should show how I'd rather be watching the anime than whatever I was doing on my phone.
Overall - 9/10
This has to be on the top 3 animes I've watched. While more than 3 animes received a 10/10 and this one didn't, it brought me in and leave an impact on me and I just know for a fact, if/when more season(s) come out in the future, I'll enjoy them so much.
This concludes my review, thank you for reading all the way through.

After watching the first 6 episodes, you can say, I was so hyped for the rest of the story. I thought this would easily be on the top 5 animes I've watched. But I was mistaken.
The story had a good approach and had so much potential. But after the 13th episode, it made me a little bored, but I thought, maybe it'll get boring for a bit and then better a few episodes later. It didn't, the story just didn't feel right and then eventually the "gang", or the group of the 5 main characters just slipt up, one character hating this one and another
...
hated that one. It just made me disappointed in the story. It had a few good jokes here and there and for the ending, it kinda made it up for it.
Story - 5/10:
At the beginning, the story was just simply put, amazing. But then it felt like it got worse and worse as it went on. if just felt, not as good after they started hating one another. I was mainly enjoying when they spent their time together, and it's another one of those typically animes where they're in love with someone they knew awhile ago, new character steps in, they fall in love.
They could've sciped it up a bit if you know what I mean.
Art - 7/10:
For the time it was made, the art is surprisingly modern -- or just that the art style hasn't really changed as significantly as you'd expect it might from over 10 years ago.
Sound - 9/10:
The sounds for footsteps, things falling over, and all that were surprisingly well, the sounds felt natural and like if it were real life, it'd make those sounds as it was in the anime. It was excellent.
Character(s) - 8/10:
The designs for the character just felt right with me, it just sat right. I don't know how to explain it. The development was also pretty good and suiting for how the story went.
Enjoyment - 6/10:
As I somewhat said earlier, it was the most enjoyable in the beginning. But then, it just decreased and decreased and decreased. I wished they just didn't make everyone hate each other for the last 1/4 of the anime, and the end they weren't mean to each other, but before, they somewhat were. Like Ami to Miniori and Ryuuji. If it were jokingly, friendly way, or even in a not-serious way, I'd had enjoyed it more. But it really felt like pure hatred.
Overall - 6/10:
This concludes my first review that I wrote at 2:20AM and I am too tired to proofread or chec k for any errors ok gn, yea.
