It's about cabaret girls. Hooray! It's not like I love cabaret girls. The idea of the main characters are cabaret girls are unique and fresh that made me eager to know about this manga instantly. As the synopsis above, following the 4 cabaret girls, the story of them in love (with girls of course lol).
The art of this manga, for the background, is modest. It's not exaggerating much, just enough. Often we will have it plain for the background and surrounded with effects to emphasize the characters aura and feelings. This effect does perfectly nice to boost the nuance of them, both in conversation and
...
l̷o̷v̷e̷ scenes. What I really love about this manga is how the characters are drawn so great. It's rich with detail and classy outfit and dress that really portrays their life as cabaret girls. I said before that this manga's content is explicit because you will find no censor in it (FYI, the scenes are only up to the teasing parts).
The story of these are divided into three parts, every chapter has its own central characters. You'll be offered with different types of cabaret girls with different entertaining love lives. I fall in love in all of these 3 different chapters because of its diversity of storyline. Sadly, I cannot explain since it will be spoiler. Their love happen to be pure, precious, vivacious, and supportive. This kind of one-shot is rare, I felt the characters are alive in such a short narration.
I really like this, so sweet 9+. You can read it on Dynasty Scans: Sweet Guilty Love Bites.
Pros:
Nice comedy, so fun and fresh
Every part has its own unique aspects, what a great story and characters
Personally, I really like the theme, cabaret girls, those nice dresses af

STORY
Gabriel is now graduated from Heaven's school above-world and must deepen her knowledge about human by seeing them firsthand to human world. As an angel, of course with angelic personality, she has a dream to become a great angel who will lead people to happiness. She is considered as the best alumnus, gained reputation as a worthy-of-being-a-role-model angel. When the time starts to rhyme with her new experience in human world, Gab―short for Gabriel―is exceptionally addicted to game in her PC. The MMORPG that she plays all the time, almost nonstop, is made excuses as the way to observe human
...
by learn it from human entertainment. Don't you think it's another game-like series, no, it's absolutely not! Gabriel DropOut surpasses it in terms of enjoyment and laughter.
STORY IMPRESSION
The concept of angels & demons is not special at all. We have so many of it especially in supernatural genre series. It goes along too with the slice-of-life theme, we have several series of it, namely The Devil is a Part-timer! as an example. Nonetheless, Gabriel DropOut brings something fresher and much more laughter as well as slice-of-life spice. When it's common to find male demon race, we won't be offered males, instead we get extraordinary demons with its uniqueness. Watch out! The angels aren't angelic at all and the demons aren't demonic at all. It's like fucking parody of reverse side of angel and demon race in regard to the personality. What's cute and enjoyable is the story...they enter schools, mingle in the human world, learn how to life like human (eating in cafetaria, learn cooking, summer break, part-time, partying). There are times when they get holiday in human world then visiting back their realm (heaven and hell). So funny futuristic upper realm with goodies there far from the expectation of mine where Heaven and Hell of them are such sacred places.
CHARACTERIZATION
A bit of its personality has been mentioned. In regard to personality, the major characters here, the angels and demons: Gab, Vigne, Satanichia, and Raphi are all like the opposite of their race reputation. They aren't represent the angel race as angels and demon race as demons at all. Gab and Raphi, one of the best students in Heaven, one of them is a fallen angel who's addicted to video game like trash lol and another one is actually corrupted with her hidden-yet-visible sadistic and mocking deeds. These two brings already uncountable laughter and added with the dunce demon, Satanichia, and angelic demon, Vigne. The demons are kinder than the angels itself and vice versa.
Their friendship and characters development itself is good. Well, for friendship is great, because their ties as friends growing stronger. They try to help each other with their own (funny) way. There are several problems present and they manage to handle it together. Every character has their own problem even if it's not much illustrated. However, it's not a real big problem, just small one, that later involved all of them because they're friends OMG SO CUTE AND FUN LOL For additional information, we're also being given the background information about their lives both in Heaven and Hell at a glance too.
The 4 main characters aren't easy to be bored. However, we still get some minor characters too. Like the angel junior named Tapris who's prone to get fooled and has a racism over satan race. Yet she is still so pure with virtue concept that makes her act inbetween to still act good and respective to goodness or do racism over good satan. We also got the class rep figure as the normal human. She is funny for being respectful to her responsibility, or it's as she thought she have to. But, she does it in an overly way she does it sometimes burdening herself of course that brings us laughter. Other minor like the major characters family members give us background information of what kind of environment the major were raised.
VISUALIZATION & MUSIC
For the visualization, let's start from the characters design itself. Well, there's nothing fancy here but keep it mind that their simple design combines with the personalities and story will make them hard to forget and easy to make you fall in love. Blonde girls, red-haired rather devilish, an angelic looks from white-haired character, dark-haired as the most mature, it's common to find yet I really like them. The facial expressions are really well-animated and that's how the funny moments can reach its funniest state. The changing on their normal faces and its irritating expressions in an instant is like a grenade for lots of laugh. The visualization in broader sense to its surrounding makes use gradation of colour which makes it look smooth and boost the aura of characters. This aspect of Gabriel DropOut mixes well with the sound aspect in which the seiyuu(s) successfully encouraging the jokes. What's more the background music is really fit for this comedy genre.
The theme song itself for the OP "Gabriel Drop Kick (ガヴリールドロップキック)" is sung by Miyu Tomita, Saori Oonishi, Naomi Oozora & Kana Hanazawa (the 4 major characters' seiyuus). ED "Hallelujah☆Essaim (ハレルヤ☆エッサイム)" is also sung by them. The OP has catchy beats with bright colours as background. It's like they have conversation when singing with catchy beat. A mixing of pop and the drum beat like rock genre. What's best is the seiyuus' voices here. The ED is great too! The seiyuu(s) fill(s) the blank space perfectly without being annoying to the rhythm and it's clearly pump up the energy. Funny background scenes for ED soundtrack. The ED of Gabriel DropOut has many changes on tempo/beat like in Sabagebu!
The background music when something is in tight situation or funny-comedy can change so sudden and it is impressive. It brings laughter and it never made me bored with this classic way. There are always no jokes and unpredictable things as outcome. The seiyuus are really into the characters, like when it's in the cornered situation, background music comes and passes, the seiyuus will voice up the characters both funny and interesting like "how can you sound it out like that?!".
Pros:
Theme songs. I like the seiyuu(s) so much there!
Despite of common theme of angels and demons, the series delivers something new as a plot and the friendship of them growing up in an awesome way.
So much fun and laughter by the jokes and the visualization.

This manga is quite...naughty. By becoming the students in an elite school doesn't make either Sachiru nor Tenga happy. Their dreams to have a real education in National Elit Academy's High School are evaporates like dew. Like its name, only wealthy can go study here. But, all of them in fact are messed up people. This supposedly educational institution to teach the students about knowledge and behaving in manner does the opposite and highly appreciate the students who like to fuck. This school main purpose is "love". In the era of birth crisis in Japan, this school stands us the pioneer by teaching their students
...
how to love.
It's like a manga's relative of Kimi wa Midara na Boku no Joou above. When the main character has no choice but forced in situation to engage in smut activities (yet it still not into smut scenes, it'll probably soon only if the manga continued). The background element is kinda the same like it is that the school is for the wealth only, tuition part and so on.
In Retort Pouch! manga, the school is treating the "love" like an achievement which they have to conquer, and conquering in here means they indulge in the desire for sex. The school main purpose, as stated in manga, is about how the students can learn how to be in a relationship so they can marry in the future and give birth as the Japan in that time has problem of decline of population.
Well, this school even has its own special lesson named "Virgin tutoring lessons" with purpose to teach couples to have a normal relationship and matching proper couples for marriage. It's deeply related to our main characters because they are, Sachiru-san and Tenga-san are the famous supreme virgin students. In another hand it means, they're not like what the school wants them to be, they don't even seem interested like other students in lovey-dovey activities.
This is where the school will go rough to make them learn precisely. This series is quite funny, and I like the gyaru girl. Her personality is making me curious af.
The illustration is great! The character design is both simple and classy. They are expressing their auras through their styles (design characters). Can't say much still about it, this manga...is really hanging. There is no sign whether it will be continued or not. It just being left like that.

As the time goes by, Saitou finally can meet Subaru again in the high school after struggling for a scholarship. Saitou, who is treated badly like ignored or viewed as low-life classmate and seems like forgotten by Subaru, then wishes the obverse God, to make Subaru's room and his connected. It happens, the wish comes true anyhow... If you're expecting something like "Saitou tries to convince her ojou-sama to come back to him" or "Saitou tries to do ecchi stuff to her while declaring his love", you should immediately turn that expectation off. Because it's more gripping than just it! Lewdness? Yes, you will get
...
it, so MANY of it. But, it's not worthless story without any kind of development with so many ecchi-ness. It's not fanservice only.
Frankly speaking, the "granted wish" by observe God that involved both parties, Subaru and Saitou takes cost. As the main contractor, who is actually Subaru that wishes for it firstly, she has to bear the consequence losing her self-control for one hour. It's like far from expected that granted wish such as it would be exchanged with "self-control". But, that it is. There's a reasoning why "self-control" is at stake rather than "lifespan" which is more reasonable to take as a cost. And...this is where it leads us to lewd scenes. Even if it's going to be NSFW (Smut) almost all of the chapter, but every chapter itself has incredible improving plot that sequence is worth to wait. By that, we know more about the characters, its values, their point of views, feelings, and future desire. It's such a hard decision to believe the fact of offering lewd scenes can improve the understanding of characters and its personalities, that's why I recommend you to read it by yourself. As I said before, this manga's ero stuff is not for "just" fanservice. This reason is my most favorite because, as we all know, so many ecchi genre series, moreover smut, have no plus point than it's ecchiness itself for pleasure. This one is DEFINITELY different, from "who does it", "what kind of the things performed", "how does it possible to happen", even its "resolution". The characterization itself is not found in many other series. Focusing on the main characters, Subaru and Saitou are like flawless example of the real consummate love (look for Sternberg's Love theory lol). In the surface, we know they have commitment for themselves and their feelings. Our understanding grows that it's not just commitment to themselves, it evolves to each other. They also have passion when together, their intimacy moreover. It's not because the lewd activities, but it's more about how "close" and "care" they are for each other feelings.
Aside from the aspect of story and characterization that both funny, challenging, intriguing, one of a kind, the illustration is fantastic. Like Haruwaka manga, it has nice character design. It also pays attention into the surrounding of its characters and never make the panels look boring. The illustration can give the vibe of how charming is the character or how complicated their feeling is. It surpasses the physical appearances only.
It's not just entertaining with perverted scenes. It takes the perverted fellow to another level about how funny it is to "not" be pervert in times of need as the story develops and characters are growing more commitment with picturesque illustration and "real feeling" (love). I really can't get enough of this and badly need the continuation of it.

Haruwaka is an erotastic story. The word erotastic that I borrow from the main character, describes how ero it is as well as fantastic. The fantastic point comes from its illustration tho'.
Haruwaka tells about the twin sisters who fall in love and date the same guy. Haru and Waka are happily date Ono even if it becomes threesome relationship. Haru is more girly and childish while Waka is collected and mature enough. Ono himself is the ero mangaka who dedicates his life to draw 2D manga and everything about 2D, 'til he dates Haru & Waka. The "dating" itself is the reason why everything gets
...
complicated afterwards.
Technically, the twin sisters are "dating" Ono. But, Ono himself views them as his material for eromanga (which actually this-kind-of-just-being-inspiration-for-manga develops into real feelings). The lewd scenes are plenty, but it's not without reason. The character leads to erotic scenes for manga material and it's also funny moments. It's not baseless ecchi-ness.
I still admit that the phase or the development of the story sometimes dull or too fast. They are likely to engage in something Ono asks in a sudden even if it's something which is new to them. Of course, it's not without exact cause. They do things because spending time with Ono is their top priority and being chosen as the only one is their goal.
The art is really nice. The char design looks so yummy. The boy looks kewl with masculine attribute on his face. Not too much exposed like the female face, but it's enough I think. As for characterization, Waka has straightforward trait which is really I'm into, while Haru is a bit resistant with something she's not agree with, but because of love and challenge she is willing to cross the border.
I came up with an idea that the ending will not be too good for me, but yeah it's happened as predicted. If you like an open ending where you can wander everywhere with your mind to decide what kind of ending suits you the best, try this one. Many events involved here as it's real dating and interesting like by the time they go out for summer vacation, the homeroom too, hanabi, cultural festival at school, karaoke dating, and so on. (RATE: 7)

I can't agree for more as Dynasty-Scans says in the page of Mare [メア] manga, "This manga isn't for the faint of heart. It contains rape, hetero, tentacles, gore, and of course yuri (which isn't til later)." It has 10 chapters which the first half of it is episodic. We will have different kind of NSFW story within main characters' school. While the second half of it focusing on the main character's issue in the past that present in the present.
Mea is said as Yagami Tsukiko's classmate and roommate. But, her present itself both as Tsukiko's classmate and roommate is manipulated by her power that
...
can control demon. She is manipulating her presence in the school and mingle with it.
1st: Mea's existence, Yagami Tsukiko's introduction and issue.
2nd: Sawada and Sekiguchi-Sensei, forbidden affair at school.
3rd: Youko loves to be sexually pleased.
4th: Mea wants to run away from the semester exam.
5th: Kagura who believes in God.
6th: Yuka, about a girl who commits abortion.
7th-10th: A few chapters later is all about Mea, it tells about Mea's past and her life-and-death moment in the present that haunting her.
The art for the human character is rounded-like with big rounded eyes and simple background (if there's any background details it'll be around school and simpler one). It has dark nuance enough for 19's manga and I like it. The art of the demons summoned by the main character is vary. For the goddess-like creature that shining and seems pure. There are demons who look firm built too like it's really from different dimension. The silly face and jokes are funny.
I was curious about the summoned demons actually I eager to finish this less than an hour before I went to campus. The demon's presence itself isn't much, and beware of the contents in every chapters which might turn into something inconvenient to see. (RATE: 6.5-7)

Passionate Electric Waves is a short story, two chapters in Milk Shell [ミルクシェル] manga by Morinaga Milk which is already old (around 2002). Ema and Aya is a childhood friend who's in love with each other and get surprising visit by an alien amidst their relationship. This manga represents an old art with big eyes and round faces characters with typical shading of an old manga. The art shows mature contents with no censorship, that means, it's visible for our eyes to see the genital organ (unlike some yuri mangas which prevent to expose much about it). But, the story has cute nuance since the

Note that, I'm not SAO series fans. I hadn't posted the review of its 1st season, but I really don't like it, I thought it was too much exaggerating, too imba characters and lame romance. The 2nd season is better than its 1st for me. Still, with not too much impression for SAO series, I wished the Movie (Ordinal Scale) would give a new breakthrough point. I would like to join in the crowds and hype, there I was, along with other kind of アニメ lovers let myself made a chance for SAO - Ordinal Scale to impress me...and here
...
is my review.
VISUALIZATION
It's well... good, maybe between good or great (better than just "good"). The city panorama and the bosses they fight as well as the fighting itself is calculated nicely. The Ordinal Scale movie, which timing for the fighting is usually at night, is given us the vibrant of dark and haunting feeling. It supports the story as it gets more intrigue all over the place. The switch between real life and Ordinal Scale's space is great that the surrounding around you suddenly, still in the same place and kind of architecture, turns into something similar in different realm. When they're switching into fighting mode, the camera pan / its angle perfectly took place to show the greatest part of the characters which is varied, added with several match facial expressions. Regarding to the characters in the movie, there are only several characters added here. Several major and minor characters; those are the core characters who become the basic reasoning of its plot. The additional characters are the basic story for this movie. They have just, well say, good enough characters design.
STORY
"It basically the same SAO".
That's no other suitable sentence to describe this.
The very idea is trying to have another kind or method of trapped people in a game that harm their lives (because of the creator's sole purpose). At first, it's trying to convince the viewers that the new game called Augma which is created by an old experienced geezer will not make the players lost its consciousness to the real world like Sword Art Online series using AmuSphere did before. It guarantees the players to enjoy the sense of "gaming" in the form of reality.
Simply to say, you're actually gaming a kind of game like Sword Art Online, in here named Ordinal Scale, with full human sense (hearing, touch, taste, smell, sight). Well, to support this game, it's using "real human capability" as indicator. I think by adding this way, Ordinal Scale tries to change the viewers speculation about what the MMORPG series is all about. The usage/function of the "real human capability" is a challenge the game offers to them. No other option than to fight the bosses/monsters with our basic own body's limitation. The characters surely having difficulties to sway their weapons, to move instantly like in the virtual game world with all of the advantages for body limitations and skill, fatigues as the real human. However, sometimes the movie still makes no sense of letting the characters powerfully deal damage to the bosses/monsters and jumping so high and gracefully. It's also not clear how far the limitation of human body to the user ability when they activate and transform into themselves in the Ordinal Scale realm.
Still related to its story, as I said above, SAO - Ordinal Scale tries to point out that it's not the same as previous SAO series, but the fact the show gives us "the same SAO". With its figured final consequences that harm the users lives, the effect to the users especially mentally exactly the same. And I felt like the rest after that is just SAO in another way of visualization. They're going mad, start to fight all over the places with overly-dramatic reaction it shouldn't be. Well, it's reasonable that this show is really for young teenagers who's still in puppy love. Furthermore, after that the limitation of power they have somehow start to fade away and they show skillfully themselves in a level far from what they begin at first (without any effort shown).
CHARACTERIZATION
The characters development is what this movie lacks about, except for the heroine, Asuna. She is, again, like the center of everything (even though she isn't). She is the gear to support the ending. She puts in as the victim and later become the life-saver. It doesn't make sense for me she becomes something "wow" with the kind of power and experiences she has. Only by that and represents in a hurry like she is one of those exceptions with unlimited power who can improve to its best.
MUSIC
I was pleased by the theme songs. Then, as expected from LiSA to be charged for the ED theme I guess. However, the ED is not as masterpiece as others brag about. Truly I felt unpleasant recalling the time I thought "the soundtracks are fucking amazing" when it's just "great". Put in some upbeat theme songs when the tension rises. Slower tension and slower theme songs, change it into dramatic feelings when the complicated matters come up. The ED from Lisa "Catch the Moment" is between melodious and upbeat. The combination of sweet piano tunes, resolute drum beat, and titillating guitar rhythm.
**The movie merchandise can be found HERE, the badge set is cute with chibi design on it and there's a simple yet dope tote bag.
Well, the plus points are for how well-planned this movie with its effort to come out with something fresher and new with Augma technology that I amazed at first, visualization anyway, theme songs, and how I enjoyed it. Still, it's like the 1st SAO that becomes overly dramatic (somehow overrated) and lack of development. For me, its rate is around 7.

PLOT
Re:ZERO's main character is Subaru, a typical hikkikomori who got thrown in an unknown town like RPG. He has no idea about where he is or what kind of situation he is in now. It doesn't like he was playing RPG before it happened. Even his expectation about the world he is stepping in is vaguely known and out of his mind. He ends up waking up in such a strange town he never visited before. A town where he can find anything like in the RPG. However, his joy isn’t going for long. In an instant, he senses he will get through adventurous yet
...
unpredictable future in the Capital of Lugunica, the place he is currently living.
Lugunica is the easternmost nation on the continental map of the odd world Subaru just discovered. As the first main heroine introduced hereafter, named Emilia, Subaru quickly decides to devote himself to this beautiful girl. Emilia saves him from the attackers and Subaru states an alibi of helping her finding the one who stole her gem to keep attached with her—since he wants to know more about the city and has nowhere to go. His decision to follow—so he will have someone beside to travel and gather information, —is the beginning of his bloody journey and the truth behind his existence there, as well as his discovered-newborn ability related to dark magic.
STORY ASPECT
The first half of this story was fucking boring. I really fed up with few episodes when Subaru comes back to his starting point because of his death moments. His ability is "Returns by Death" will activate immediately if he dies. He is unable to tell others about this ability whatsoever, thus, everytime he comes back to life he thinks about the plan to prevent his death and others he loves in Lugunica from death later. This series is way time too much to reveal the protagonist’s logic behind all of it. Too much soliloquy with slow development of Subaru's lame thoughts (fucking sick of it already after 3 episodes). It's starting to change after the deuteragonist, or at least that's how I assume the character named Rem there, enters Subaru's life. Rem is taking this series to a whole new point with an increasing amount of conversation with other supporting yet fundamental characters too. She is the reason why I decided to finish the series when I was already in half way and ready to drop this.
Rem's role is more than just deuteragonist here, more than that into the story. She grows up Subaru's thought and idea of his hopeless self. She spreads love and emotion to us with her love. What a pure love she has. However, even if Subaru as main protagonist experiences revolution of himself to better man than before, he is still the "irritating" one who made me wanna puke. He is weak for God's sake. Not just it, but his pose is irritating and already overdo, made it not funny anymore for me. He is good-for-nothing but boasts himself. He can act like a real hero and childish unpredictably with ease that made him like a character who doesn't have fix personality. His pride and his mumbling in the end only arises just for creating tension and sympathy.
CHARACTERS
The character development is only up for Subaru himself. It's clear that only Subaru who can make a change and new possibility for others because of his ability. He makes use of his ability to prevent or make progress for things when other characters just follow the decision he makes later with their own characteristic. Other characters help Subaru in their own role, but the most that we can feel is all about Rem (I discovered myself in a hesitation about who's the real main heroine here (Rem everywhere)). His thoughts and idea are getting better as the time goes. It is, however, impossible to change if there are no other characters support him (as I say, he is such irritating and pessimistic).
The other characters are all mannequins-like, They are there and suddenly just bunch of corpses by being replaced with other characters in stage. Only Emilia and Rem get their development a bit following Subaru. Subaru’s ill thoughts are created to make himself looks developed afterwards. From such ill thoughts to be something greater, a real man.
VISUALIZATION
Any expectation for its visualization will not be let down. Surely fantasy anime needs nice graphic for satisfying our eyes. Re:zero does nice colouring, when your emotions gonna stir up by the tension it gets hazy and when hope arises after the dark age of ill thoughts it becomes luminous. They combine the colouring well with situation. Beautiful scenes got my sight, but nothing really matters, except the character design which is impress me much. Green surrounding but not too detail, and epic battles although there aren't much battles I could find here. The facial expression of characters is the best aspect of visualization here. It's really represented the feeling of anger, sadness, hopelessness, desire, wrath, worry, sincerity, innocence, and relief. So many clear facial expressions that make this series can be so emotional for sensitive person. I guess, everything near the facial area is the focus of this series, aside from facial expressions, there are also hair, hair accessories, and near shoulder area.
MUSIC
The OP is sung by Konomi Suzuki "Redo", it's pop-rock like with many synthesizer effect, try to be a beat pieces but fail to satisfy my ears. The OP2 "Paradisus-Paradoxum" by MYTH & ROID is more Re:ZERO for the series. It's suitable to be Re:ZERO theme song with its beat and spread shadowy vibes with the instruments. The ED "STYX HELIX" by MYTH & ROID is another success for the music aspect in this series. I think MYTH & ROID is always slaying this series. This ED has more back vocals like whispering or murmur-like and slower tempo that fit for the ending. The ED2 "Stay Alive" is sung by Rie Takahashi (Emilia's seiyuu). It's the best for me! With ripped-apart-heart beat supported by the instruments (especially crashing drums) and seiyuu's vocal character as the singer, it's amazingly stunning. Plus the fact of the scenes that play in the back.
SUMMARY:
My own rate for this anime is 8. I can't forgive how dumbass and fucking boring it at first. Rem saves the series in a really good timing and after that it starts to be better than expected.
Pros & Cons:
The first-half of the series is fucking dumbass, I was getting bored and wondering. The second-half of the series was something priceless to watch for tho’. But, I should be honest here, I disappointed with the ending, it feels like they tried to pack it in hanging way.
In brief, it has no ecchi scenes (well, such female exaggerating parts of female and kind of flirting way does exist but it's considering as less).
The music aspect is so great, ED2 surely.
Rem is deeply, surely, definitely, falling in love with the protagonist. Her sincere love to him drives her to be a diamond that saves this series in my list. Rem is up for the pros here.
Emilia and Rem can tug at my heartstrings. Emilia is my favorite.

Short as it is, the introduction of Kuzu no Honkai. It begins with the unrequited love and desire to be with someone that they can't have. It leads them to form a promise together as lover. By doing so, they can embrace each other as they imagine it's the person they love. Both are falling for the teachers in their school. Mugi loves Akane-sensei who exhibits the elegance (and quite his type). Hana loves Kanai-sensei who's so dear with her since she was a child. Of course, those problematic feelings are intercalated by other characters feelings (love) too. They are ironically

STORY - CHARARACTERIZATION
I'm not an enthusiast in drama & romance. In fact, I'm very selective when I do watch the genres. I picked this, put it into my must-watch list right after finishing the 1st ep. "This anime is really heavy," what was I thought. From the intro in the 1st ep, it is very clear all ep won't be full of affection. It's indeed the story that will rip the smile apart (moreover if you like to pair one with each other, be prepared).
The timing they use to bring things up is perfect. Like when the teacher meets with the main characters unexpectedly, the confession of Hanabi's friend, the yelling of Moka, accidental meeting with minor characters and many more. It goes smooth yet, once again, heavy. The story tries to make us understood how having such a dear feeling like love can be mentally sickening, reeling. It makes us think which side is right or wrong, what is more appropriate to do. Everyone here has their own basic reasoning in which supporting every deeds they do, nobody is wrong. They have different fears and kind of emotions to face, but it's all categorized the same "to someone they love". Weak mental stability can easily get stabbed every time the soliloquies appear, it's pretty distressing yet beautifully described.
Those characters. both in major and minor characters categories, are round type. All of them change along the story progress. It's shown by how mentally wounded their soul in soliloquies and therefore it changes themselves, like their thoughts, opinions, perspective, decisions, not to mention, feelings. Their characters development is progressive, as well as the characterization from other characters to each other in the meantime. The characters development shows the beginning 'til the end of the time they face their own problems and priority to what path they are going to choose and do.
VISUALIZATION
The visualization sync perfectly notable when it's the soliloquies when flow of the words describing the feeling and nuance really makes sense. It's logic from mind and it's understandable from heart. The words or thoughts itself are painful, killing. Almost every time the soliloquies fade away, it jumps to another scene or back to reality, the closure feels like we're drawn to sink with its somber ideas. The close-up characters faces are good, the male characters are plenty while parts of female characters face are graceful. Well, about the ecchi scenes itself, which are more than just enough ('till its get denouncement for its sexual content), is notable. It's great from the visualization and story. It's not in a rush to engage in intimate doing, slowly and in a logical way with clear reason why it puts there. I don't think there's no harm from this series from the beginning because it's already claimed that the genres would be ecchi and seinen too. I thought everyone should pay attention more to it and increase the awareness of it. Well, whatever tho' XD The surrounding visualization is ornamented well, soft yet resolute colouring with subtle contour. The slow motion is the best when they're getting contradiction within themselves.
MUSIC
The meaningful lyrics from the theme songs are killing, it always burns up the feelings there and make it heavier. It can make you cry if you really into the story (or at least quite sensitive). The insert songs (instruments) really play along, support well the tension when Hanabi and other characters are feeling themselves in The edge of frustration. The OP is sung by 96neko, one of my favorite because of her lower voice yet firm, "Uso no Hibana (嘘の火花)". It's worth to say it's one of the best theme songs in WINTER 2017 season. Then, we have the ED by Sayuri "Heikousen (平行線)". As the OP, it also has meaningful theme songs. Makes us feel that the characters can have everything but their feelings, like they signed the pact to make the person s/he likes happy, but wanted themselves to be saved pathetically.
Kuzu no Honkai brings sudden revolution to drama & romance genres, even with R+ (mild nudity) scenes. It opens the possibility to understand more the basic reasoning of someone's doing regardless of how slut or weak s/he is in the name of love. The scums' wishes dreadfully about love and people existence, it rocks 9++!
Pros:
This is a one-in-a-million series. Never watched the same theme series with this kind of main idea. A real amazing example of romance, psychological, & drama that worth to watch in a series.
The soliloquy is masterpiece. What an unthinkable thoughts and ideas occur, as well as its visualization in soliloquy parts. If other series using too much soliloquy that makes it boring, Kuzu no Honkai used soliloquy to craft the development of story.
What a fucking moment when they spite mockery, ridicule, nonsense thoughts. The usage of satire.
Love all of the elements in this psychological-romance-drama series, the characters are being self-righteous, superficial, inferior & superior. They feel so many emotions from the present, haunted future and treasured memories; emptiness, pure love, blind love, tainted wishes, guilty feelings, bitter reality, lust, malice, corrupted soul, fake happiness, as well as the representation of worst happiness.
From sound aspect, theme songs & seiyuu(s) are damn great.
