I’ve been really enjoying “Whisper me a Love Song”. It has a great relationship with the main two and great drama too. However with its horrible release schedule, I wanted to watch this show to fill in the gap. I regret my decisions.

This show could have been 2 episodes long if they just threw Touko into therapy. Her character is so pathetic I wanted to reach into the screen and shake seance into her. Her whole thing with Yuu was so aggravating. She loves Yuu and will throw herself onto her, but she tells Yuu not to love her. They will have the ... most sweetest, cutest scene that I am fangirl squealing too like I just saw BTS pole dance for me and then Touko throws out the most stupid line of all time that will just ruin the whole scene before it.

The only thing that kept we watching this show was the play performance, and you don’t even get to see it. You spend so much time leading up to it for absolutely no reason.

4/10 show. 1 for Maki as he is best boy and the other 3 for the Cafe Owner and the Teacher’s relationship. Best parts of the show

Do you like the Monogatari series? Well then most likely you will also enjoy this show.

To me, this show is a 10/10. This is for many reasons:

1) Characters. Our main two characters are such fun to watch. The dialogue is really fun and you never get bored of just them talking. The character designs are also really well done. The side characters are also really good. Our main character isn’t the typical self insert MC you see in a lot of RomComs. Ko is actually a very interesting and funny character that is very entertaining to watch and also brilliantly voiced. The same also goes ... for Nazuna with Amamiya Sora doing an incredible voice for such a well written and fun character. The romance/friendship of our main two is what drives this show, and our main two certainly do steal this show.

2) Animation and Visuals. The animation is spectacular. It does such an incredible job capturing a night time aesthetic that the atmosphere sucks you in and makes you feel like you are there, experiencing the night with our characters. I feel like the person who was in charge of the lighting and the colours needs a raise. The nighttime is full of bright purples and blue that truly are a sight to behold. This is one of the best atmospheric shows I have ever seen.

3) The story. Sure the story isn’t some well plotted and planned story like Attack on Titan, but the story is basic in a good way. The story is interesting enough to keep you watching. This is a simple romance of a human boy and a vampire girl experiencing the night together and having fun. There are a lot of very interesting plot elements that come up that I won’t spoil.

4) Music. The OP and ED are fantastic. Creepy Nuts did a fantastic job with the OP and ED, as well as a few insert songs in scene too. The music truly does add to the night time aesthetics.

As my first review, I am really happy it is this show. This show is truly amazing in my eyes. This is most likely because I love the Monogatari series and Call of The Night and Monogatari share the same director. Call of The Night even has the SHAFT headtilts. So if you love Studio SHAFT or just love Monogatari then I truly do recommend this series
