Now, this is my very first review on MyAnimeList, so I might not be the best at this, but bare with me.
Story: 8
Horimiya's story is not really the defining point, but it is still very enjoyable. The main plot revolves around this gloomy dude and his girlfriend sharing their "secret" sides to each other, and it's actually something very often seem in other romcoms like this. However, what made me like it is the fact that it doesn't just stay at that. It always explores a little bit of each character a bit, and when it has explored enough, it introduces a new one as
...
well, to explore even further.
Art: 10
I mean, this show has amazing art and animation, really. For a romcom, I don't normally see animation that's this good, but Horimiya managed to catch my attention with its pastel colors and chill atmosphere. It really feels like a romcom. Not only that, but it's super well animated, and I could definitely see a lot of work put into every frame.
Sound: 9
The OST is just okay. Nothing especial with it. It's definitely not bad, and I can definitely see myself listening to it regularly, but there's nothing extremely outstanding in it. That being said, the OP is probably my favourite of all time. Yoh Kamiyama is one of my favourite artists, so when I found out that he was going to perform one of the theme songs for this anime, I was really impressed. It definitely did not disappoint me and I definitely enjoyed it a lot.
Character: 10
By far the best part of this anime. Every single character seems very fleshed out, but not to the point where it's overdone. They all have their very story, and I could go as far as to say that every single one of them could probably be their own protagonist of the show.
Enjoyment: 10
Probably because it's one of my favourite genres, I never really got bored while watching this show. It kept me going and once I thought I had only seem half of an episode, it was already over. The comedy is very well made, and I could definitely laugh a lot.
Overall: 10
Horimiya is by far my favourite anime. It has nice art, an amazing opening, some really great characters, and it always keeps you going. I definitely recommend this show to anyone who has liked romcoms before, and even if you haven't, you should still check it out.
