If you like stories about middle school girls going through depression while having characters fighting these two are for you. -They are both anime original stories (BRS being inspired by a vocaloid song) -Both have over the top fights that fit really well with the drama. -Both Madoka and Mato really care about their friends. -The tone of both series are really similar and both osts and animation styles are really good. -Both will take you for an emotional roller coaster.

If you like stories about anti-heroes who battle demons while almost becoming one these series are for you!!!! -Akira and Guts start off very diferent but become violent, strong and determined characters who stop at nothing to protect the ones they love. -They both have tons of gore, violence and nudity and awesome demon designs. -The main characters lives are full of tragedy. -They are both classics in their own right and even thought none have a proper anime adaptations. (Miura inspired himself on some of Go Nagai's manga to write Berserk)

They just show characters interacting and influencing the world and society were they live -They both show the underworld of a particular city (NY for Baccano and Ikebukuro (Tokyo) for Durarara) -They both have a strong silent female character (Celty for Durarara and Chane for Baccano) -They both have characters who trade information

If you like politics and military tatics in your anime these two are for you! -They are both historical dramas set in the middle ages -They both have a huge focus on tatics and politics and have a secondary character who serves to explore these themes (Griffith in Berserk and Narsus in Arslan Senki) -They are both realistic although they have some fantasy elements (Berserk is stronger in this aspect) -They both show a war were the MCs have little chance of winning. Although they are similar Berserk in its final episodes is very fantasy focused with some (greatly designed) demons

-They are both psychological thrillers -The MCs are young geniuses who want to change the world with morally questionable methods (Light killing criminals and 9 and 12 doing terrorism) -The antagonists for both series are as smart as the people they are trying to catch -They both have epic mental battles and cat and mouse plots -They were both directed by some of the best anime directors (Shinshiro Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Kids on the Slope) for Zankyou no Terror and Tetsurō Araki (Guilty Crown, Attack on titan))
