Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works

#DankRecs Utena is kinda like female Shirou. Both is a lawful good hero who tried to save people, and both deconstructs heroic figure (hell, what happened to Utena in the end is practically the same as Archer's fate as a guardian and with his role and being tan himself, the Grail War Archer is kinda like Akio on some extent.) Both also has fights, one with good visuals while others with good musics as well as some SoL moments in the story.

Haibane Renmei has been renowned as "Angel Beats for Hipsters" due to having more philosophical approach, classic western settings, symbolism, and less comedy/action/moe. Both are stories about little children that have to accept their conditions and moving on from their past life sins/regrets in afterlife settiings.

Kara no Kyoukai Movie 1: Fukan Fuukei
add

There's some bit similarities in this two anime, although there's pretty siginificant difference but I think for you guys who like Mononoke should try Kara no Kyoukai, since I haven't saw any recommendations for this one. Both deals with person that drive away the disturbing supernatural events that causes victims and explore about the cause of this events in a pretty detailed way. The story arcs of Mononoke is unrelated each other while in Kara no Kyoukai, the 5th movie connected and explained the whole series.

Akame ga Kill!
add

#DankRecs If you like Jojo you should probably like Akame ga Kill and vice versa. They both actually gives a pretty similar feels, which is: -Over the top fullpacked actions -Characters having 'bizarre' abilities -Simple/Easy to understand plotline -People actually die when they're killed -Fanservice in their own respective way (Jojo by using homoerotic machoness, Akame ga Kill with the camera angles, Esdeath, Leone, etc) -As both are shounens, the usual exaggerating shounen vibes are present in both series.

No Food No Life, Shokugeki no Sora. That's how similar they are. Both have a cocky OP protagonist voiced by the same seiyuu, ecchiness, duels with some kind of set rules, a lot of grills, and explanation on whats on the characters mind after their "smart move". BOth of this anime are truly birds from the same nest.

Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu
add

Both are movies in which depict the event after the TV series. The concept of both movies are pretty similar IMO, in which our dandere took a central role here in the relations with the male protagonist, and the male protagonist decision was also similar. It's just that End of Evangelion has some actions and also depicts what happened on Shinji mouth, while The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya showed us more to the what happened on the given lifeline and how the protagonist act on that lifeline.

Shinsekai yori
add

Oh my God, after finished watching Shiki, I just realized that it actually has so much similarities to Shinsekai Yori, especially on their mysterious athmosphere between both of them. they share some other similarities too, in which consists of: -How 2 humanoid species lives together in a dystopian system, so that it's inevitable to having fights between both species, it's explained more superficially in Shinsekai Yori while in Shiki, it's told less blatantly but if you look a bit deeper it's basically pretty similar. -A lot of characters were killed in both series. -Moral dilemmas. -Slow pacing, but then turns to a heavy Thriller later on the series. -Supernatural powers. -Rural areas settings. While the difference between both shows are: -Shinsekai Yori's mysterious aura are somewhat heartwarming while it's kind of creepy in Shiki. -The gore was heavily shown in Shiki while kept minimum in Shinsekai Yori. -Shinsekai Yori ending was more conclusive than Shiki.
