I wanted to like this, I do, but this was just a disappointment in what made the first season great.

It has the same charm that I like from the first season and the new characters are pretty charming. But the main problem of this show is the pacing and the lack of focus it had. There are just so many things going on this season that they just speedran through every episode but somehow made it slow in a lot of ways.

The first season had good pacing, showing Ryouma learning and adapting to the world around him with the people he grew to love and ... enjoying life at his own pace. The best episodes are when he was slowly accustomed to the town he visited, slowly making a laundry business, and the sad episode of realizing of losing the people he cared about, reminiscing about the love that he had, and thanks to the family that he has now. This is what made the first season so charming, heartwarming, and relaxing that immediately get invested in his character.

It had an interesting direction at first, with Ryouma expanding his business and meeting new people along the way. What made it kinda awful was the execution. As I said, there were so many things going on this season that it's kinda jarring that so many events piled up in a single season. It felt an episode had a single story arc. It feels like Ryouma is doing the same thing as in his past life, overworking without taking breaks, at least from the viewer's perspective. Sure, you could argue that he rested in between episodes, but I would like to see him taking a break or a small vacation for at least an episode. Granted, the last episode was charming showing that he cares about the community he was in and what having people closest to him means to him well.

Despite its problems, this is a fine adaptation, you'll find it either boring or charming. In the latter, I find it in the middle of the road of slightly below average. Would be cautiously optimistic about a third season.

Ah yes, Farming Life in Another World. A show that most people had mixed feelings about at the start of the season. Mainly it's the terrible reception of a similar anime that came out last season, so no one was expecting much. Despite its low expectations, the anime delivered as one of the most relaxing, feel-good anime of the season.

One of its greatest strengths is that it manages to focus on the farming aspect. Machio died from an illness and was given another chance in life in another world, and God decided to have a farming skill of his choice and live a life that ... he pleases. And so, he builds a civilization and lives a life of farming. It's an incredibly simple premise, but the execution is what made it work, having a splendid watch time and relaxation of a show.

Characters (7/10)
The characters in this show are likable. Most of them don't have any focus, but none of them are annoying. It's more on the vibe than anything making it fun to watch. On top of the likable characters, it's nice to see different species while slowly coming to know how powerful they are. A sharp contrast in how powerful and scary, but shows genuine care each resident and monster shows. Also Zabuton best girl, not even a contest.

Animation (8/10)
The animation is simple, but it works in the context of this show. A nice, comfy, chibi style of a slice-of-life.

Sounds/Music (8/10)
Nothing groundbreaking, but the score in this is comfy and relaxing and it works during the comedic scenes. The opening and ending songs are charming af

Enjoyment (9/10)
Out of every anime airing this season, this is what I look forward to the most. Would rewatch it again if I want a light mood to watch.

If you want a show that is purely relaxing and enjoy a fantasy farming life, this is the anime for you. It's not a masterpiece, but does it have to be? It's a simple, yet charming show. Go watch it!
