Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime based off of the video game Cyberpunk 2077 that released in 2020. The story is not based off the game though, only the atmosphere. The story is a completely new one.
As a person that has played the video game all the way through, I think this anime is a good successor to it. It pretty much has all the elements of Cyberpunk 2077 into the anime. for you. It is very psychological in the sense that there is much gore, and scenes that make you question your sanity.
Story: 5/10
It's ok. It's not anything groundbreaking or new, there are many series that have done this already.
Animation: 7/10
Very well done, nothing to scoff at. Though, it is better in some scenes.
Soundtrack: 9/10
The soundtrack delivers correct emotions for a certain scene and amplifies it.
Characters: 7/10
Honestly, it was too fast paced to really connect with any other characters other than the main characters. They really don't tell you much about the supporting characters.
Overall, this is decent, short anime and is worth the watch IF you're into the what I described about the anime above.
