This movie does a great job of giving things meaning. Uta and Hibiki, the main characters give each other hope. Without Uta mysteriously showing up, Hibiki would still be some kid afraid of listening to the real world.
The story itself was a beautiful thing to watch unravel. They made it work. I gave the story an 8 because it was predictable. I knew it was coming and I just hoped they displayed it well. I think that regardless of how predictable the ending was, they couldn't have ended it any better. It was emotional. It was both happy and sad. The story would've been a
...
10 if it weren't for the predictability.
The animation style was cool to watch on screen. It wasn't the best animation ever, but in moments they really wanted you to focus on, the animation style got intense and detailed, precisely what it needed. I rated the art a 9 out of 10 because it worked really well with the feeling the movie was trying to give off.
The sound was really well-done. It was kept simple but sweet. One tune that appears multiple times throughout the movie unites our two main characters, Uta and Hibiki. It continues to bring the two of them closer, and it helps bring the story to a closing. If Hibiki hadn't been able to hear that tiny tune, the movie never would have started in the first place. It was a 10/10 sound job.
The character development shown throughout the movie is nothing short of inspiring. I've never seen such well-done and realistic character development before. Hibiki has a sensory issue where noises are projected louder for him than they are for others. He wears a pair of headphones all the time in order to muffle the noises he hears. This song that he keeps hearing is the only noise that he doesn't know the source behind. He can only assume that it is coming from the Tokyo Tower. Upon arriving at the tower, he falls underwater, completely helpless and unable to escape. Suddenly, a girl, Uta arrives and helps him. After this encounter, Hibiki grows closer to the girl. This allows him to not only open up to her but to the rest of the world. This is a cute way to show how important a single person can be in someone's life. For me, the characters were an overall 10/10.
The enjoyment was a definite 10. There wasn't a moment that I wanted to pause the movie or look away. Even though the story was predictable, it was still entertaining and kept you guessing about other plotlines before the climax.
Overall I give Bubble a 9/10. It was a great movie and I recommend you watch this. It was entertaining, the animation was great compared to most, and the audio was incredible. In terms of characters and their development, they did better than most with this as well.

I had really high hopes when I first watched this, but I guess that was all for nothing.
The story follows a pair of twin brothers, Yukio Okumura, and the star of the show Rin Okumura. They're the sons of Satan. The conflict is between the Okumura brothers. Rin was born with demonic powers, similar to those of his father. Yukio was born about as normal as any other person. The most interesting thing about Yukio is his brother. Yukio is a selfish person more worried about himself than others. He thinks like a child. He seems to have a problem with his brother because ...
...
he's the son of Satan? You're twins! How could you dislike somebody for who their father is if you guys have the same parents? Yukio tries to kill Rin multiple times throughout the series, failing to get even remotely close every time.
Most of the other characters have bland personalities. They have the stereotypical anime girl. What was her name, Chiemi? Sorry, Shiemi. She has the most boring personality I've ever seen. She hasn't been anything but a bother to everyone around her. Rin's probably saved 3-4 times. What is Shiemi doing in a school for exorcists if she's afraid of everything?
Miwa is a terrible friend and an even worse person. He was a sketchy guy from the very start. Once Rin reveals himself to SAVE Bon, Miwa, Shiemi, Yukio, Izumo, and Shima, everyone turns on him. Why? Because he's the son of Satan. Funny thing is, they don't seem to hate Yukio. Miwa was the worst of them all. Bon, Shima, Izumo and Shiemi slowly begin to trust Rin, while Miwa gets himself possessed and blames it on Rin. Even after he is in control of himself again he continues to complain about how the son (singular, mind you) of Satan is allowed to go to a school for exorcists.
The plot of the story starts really slow. It was so slow that I guarantee I could've read half the series by the time Rin's demonic powers awoke. The pacing was all over the place. It was slow for every episode, until the final one. The final episode did not line up with anything that had previously happened. It was all so fast you didn't have time to understand the idea of the episode. The final episode definitely should have been left out of the show entirely or at least been turned into two or three episodes.
Overall, sound and animation are not really anything to fuss over. They don't stand out. For a show animated in 2011, the animation lacks any style. Even shows like Sōru Ītā, or Kuroshitsuji, both from 2008, have better animation quality than Ao No Exorcist.

I seem to have a different opinion on this show than most. If you can't tell, I'm a little bias towards entertainment than anything else.
While, yes it has some boring dialogue, a few bland characters, and only decent animation, it's quite interesting for something so ... "generic".
This isn't like most of the vampire animes you find. There are others like Sirius the Jaeger, Hellsing, etc, but if you mentioned vampire anime, Owari No Seraph (Seraph of the End) would be the first to come to my mind. It's as if Attack On Titan with vampires met The Promised Neverland with less mystery.
The first episode felt
...
a little more packed than the other episodes did. Overall, I think the pacing was pretty well done. I'm usually incredibly picky about the pacing of shows but this one didn't seem to do that bad. They do a pretty decent job keeping up with the manga's story and relaying information.
The story itself is indeed a little overused I'll admit. It's got the classic 'main characters family dies and now they want revenge' sort of spin. Yeah, pretty bland. They use this entire idea for the first few episodes, making the entire series start off a little slow. Then they have the classic few year time skip from some weak little kid who can't protect their family to this character who whips out normal enemies in one blow. Nothing to show us in terms of the improvement of the character or how they were able to achieve it. They do, however, put their own spin on this. They are somehow able to make this entire plot interesting, which I give them respect for. The MC is able to turn that anger into something that allows him to work smoothly with the rest of his team. I feel like season two did do a better job with the plot though. It's more original in terms of the important parts. Y'know, besides war, but you see that in most shounen/fighting animes. I am a little disappointed only because the entire 'deadly disease' plot doesn't make it past the first couple of episodes. The disease wipes out almost everyone in episode one, then it was mentioned briefly by Shinoa in episode two.
Yuuichiro "Yuu" Hyakuya
The characters don't have a lot to offer by themselves. I like how this show deals with their MC's personality. It's not just the bland nice guy with nothing to offer. He's the type of guy who doesn't really want friends. He's the type of 'I won't just forgive you' type of guy. A lot may see this as his weakness as a character, but it makes him original. Most mainstream animes have those sort of shy but mostly awkward MCs who gets embarrassed easy or just wants to make amends with everyone. They're the nice guy who plays well with everyone. Yuuichiro isn't like that though. He's not afraid to fight. He's okay with resorting to violence. He's kind of cold towards others and isn't that guy who just wants to play nice with everyone.
Yoichi Saotome:
*Spoiler Warning*
Yoichi is what most would call your standard shy guy. He gets picked on by bullies because he isn't the type to fight back. He's easily embarrassed and just wants to be friends with everybody. His personality allows him to grow close to everyone in the group in a way that the others didn't. This personality is also the reason for his possessing later in the season. When the group of friends goes to get their weapons, Yoichi unsuccessfully grabs his without being overruled by the demon within it. This doesn't affect him in the long run, but it adds to the excitement of that episodes. It also allows us to see the real strength of Yoichi and Yuuichiro's friendship. I feel like this is important to Yoichi's character development for later on.
*End Spoiler*
Shinoa Hiiragi:
She is the average 'I'm better than you' character. She is important to the show, but she can easily get on anybody's nerves. She's got that overconfident, cocky attitude. Her importance comes from the fact that she's the first of the characters (besides MC) to show up. She acts as a mentor for Yuu as he tries to figure out how to become a good vampire slayer. She already knows how to do all of this and becomes the 'leader' of their group.
Shiho Kimizuki:
If Kusuo Saiki (From 'The Disasterous Life of Saiki K') and Kei Tsukishima (From 'Haikyuu') were one person. He's got a pretty plain personality. He's the jerk who gives everyone the cold shoulder. The guy that doesn't think he needs friends. If anything, this is probably the least original character in the entire series. He's the MC's frienemy. When they get their weapons, Kimizuki is the first to awaken and of course, he has to brag about it.
Guren Ichinose:
Please, do not get attached to this man.
*Spoilers*
He's the one who saved Yuuichiro when his family died. You watch the show and he looks like he's taken the place of a parental figure to Yuu. This is fine and all, but Guren is a traitor. He used Yuu as an experiment. Some people seem to overlook this, but how is this okay? He used Yuuichiro's trust to his advantage. He's a sneaky guy I'll admit, but what he does isn't okay. I will give him the benefit of the doubt because you don't find many characters like him. He's also kind of overconfident and braggy.
*End of Spoiler*
Mikaela "Mika" Hyakuya:
He is like the Shoto Todoroki (From 'My Hero Academia') of Owari No Seraph. He's the guy with a cold personality that everyone loves. He wasn't always cold though. Mika and Yuu seemed to switch personalities after the first episode. Mika used to be the fun, caring guy that everybody loved. Now, he's the cold-hearted guy that most are afraid of. I don't blame him though because that's what trauma does to you. He's protective of the one person he truly cares for.
The animation isn't the best. I think that the paint-like background works great for darker environments, but during outdoor scenes, it isn't the best. They do animate the characters well though. Overall, the animation definitely isn't their strong suit.
Song wise, they do a pretty good job. The opening is pretty good. The ending is decent. They know what the mood of the scenes are supposed to be and know what to play to fill that role. They don't play serious music during silly scenes or silly music during serious scenes. Usually, you end up excited about the fight and what's happening, the music doesn't take away from the show itself.
I'd say overall enjoyment for a show like this is incredible. I'm actually quite amazed by the way this show turned out. They really make you feel attached to the characters and what they're going through. It isn't like your watching a show and don't understand. You get a chance to understand why the characters act the way they do. They focus on more than just the Main Character. They explore other characters and their pasts. For me personally, I binged this entire season in one sitting. I watched this for four hours without doing much else. This might just be me, but I couldn't put this down. It's definitely a good choice if you want to start something new that's not as mainstream.
I hope if you haven't then you take the time to watch this. Thank you for reading!
