Finally, we can talk about Attack on Titan as a whole, a series that's been airing for 10 years now.
Well, it's time to lay it all out!
So, the first season of Attack on Titan is basically a build-up for the rest of the series but it's still an amazing shonen anime season on its own and a wonderful introduction to a much bigger narrative, while Season 2 is more of the same but with more focus on the characters.
Thankfully though, the first part of Season 3 is where the story slowly starts unfolding itself, while Season 3 Part 2 is the part that elevates the
...
series into something truly special, where the series earns a legendary status and why it's as beloved and popular as it is.
My favorite part of Attack on Titan, however, is the entirety of the Final Season; it has the best set-pieces in the series and it's so goddamn engaging, literally mind-blowing and epic in every sense of the word, it might even be my favorite Anime season of all time.
Overall, despite very few minor inconsistencies, Attack on Titan has one of the most well-written stories by subverting expectations countless times with some of the best plot twists I've ever seen. It's an absolutely incredible story filled with jaw-dropping, thought-provoking, heart-breaking and unforgettable moments, backed up by an equally incredible cast of characters.
Last but not least, messy CGI aside, the animation is excellent, and the music and the action scenes are simply god-tier.
Pros:
+ Fascinating story
+ Compelling characters
+ Breathtaking set-pieces and animation
+ Godlike music
+ Awesome action
Cons:
- Inconsistent CGI quality
Final Rating: 10/10
- Masterpiece -
Believe the hype, Attack on Titan goes above and beyond expectations to deliver a titanic masterpiece.
For me personally, Attack on Titan is not only my favorite animated series of all time; it's one of the best, if not the best piece of media I've ever seen, period.
Do I recommend it?:
If you haven't watched it yet, watch it now.

The first season of Vinland Saga was a strong contender for being my favorite first season in an anime, and after finding out that the first season is supposed to be a mere prologue for the entire story, I had very high expectations for the rest of the series.
What I loved about the first season the most was both the plot and the idea behind its story; I was fascinated and I hoped season 2 would do something similar, and after watching all the 24 episodes, I can safely say that I'm blown away, straight up! The story in season 2 is an absolutely incredible
...
rollercoaster of emotions, a tearjerker that made me cry countless times, and the writing is some of the best I've seen in a while.
Same goes for the characters by the way; they're as engaging and interesting as ever, and the development for each character is the best possible outcome they could ever had.
Also, the music, the atmosphere and the cinematography are arguably the best I've seen in an anime, maybe ever.
I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this season, just like the first season; I think it's a perfect anime so far for me.
Pros:
+ Outstanding narrative
+ Masterful writing
+ Compelling characters and development
+ Excellent audio quality and soundtrack
+ Gorgeous visuals and extraordinary atmosphere
Cons:
- None
Final Rating: 10/10
- Masterpiece -
Vinland Saga Season 2 is without a doubt a masterpiece and one of my favorite arcs of any Anime, ever.
While the first season was already a wonderful journey and a perfect start for a bigger story, this season is a - beyond - perfect continuation and it elevated Vinland Saga as easily one of my favorite anime series of all time.
I can only wish for the next seasons to be as good as the first 2 seasons.
Do I recommend it?:
Everyone should experience this masterpiece in my opinion.

To be honest, I never really liked Mob Psycho 100's art style and I wasn't interested in watching the series, however, the amount of praise it receives from most people who've watched it convinced me to watch the series as well.
The first thing I noticed while watching Mob Psycho 100 is that the story of the series is very character-driven; instead of having an overarching plot, it emphasizes on its characters and their own stories, and it does that extraordinarily well! The characters are incredible! The main characters in particular are some of the most - if not the most - relatable characters I've ever
...
seen, and the side-characters are great as well.
The narrative is beautiful and even though the story is character-driven, it also tackles some wonderful themes that make the story all the more relatable.
I'm genuinely shocked by how much I found myself relating to the characters and the story, seriously.
Also, the ending subverted my expectations; it wasn't exactly what I expected it would be but it was something even more satisfying and fitting for the series.
The action is absolutely spectacular and seeing Mob going 100% is definitely a highlight, however, it's not really an important part of the series.
Aside from these elements though, I got to say, even though I'm not the biggest fan of Mob Psycho 100's art style, the animation is top-tier, without a doubt, and the music is good too.
Pros:
+ Compelling character-driven story
+ Relatable and lovable characters
+ Explosive action
+ Gorgeous animation
+ Nice music
Cons:
- None
Final Rating: 10/10
- Masterpiece -
Overall, Mob Psycho 100 blew me away! It went from an amazing first season to a masterpiece of a second season and a fantastic third season with a perfect ending; it's a perfect "trilogy".
Do I recommend it?:
Definitely! A must-watch Anime series in my opinion.

To be honest, I was never interested in watching Gurren Lagann, but I decided to watch it because a friend of mine told me I'd love it if I'm a fan of shonen anime series... and he couldn't have been more right.
Right off the bat, Gurren Lagann shines with its craziness, from the exaggerated focus on action to the witty dialogue, charming characters and vibrant animation, and it only gets bigger, crazier and better from there.
The story gets better too, although it takes a bit long to get better. Gurren Lagann is not about the story though, it's about the feelings it provokes and the
...
themes it tackles, it's very inspiring and motivational at times, and it does an incredible job in these areas, despite having a good story nonetheless.
The pacing, however, is extremely consistent, from the first episode to the last episode, the scale and the power system subvert expectations by constantly getting bigger and bigger.
The action is definitely the highlight of the series though, because it's so goddamn hype-enducing, absurd and straight up ridiculous, I had myself laughing out loud, clapping and even shedding tears during some action scenes at times. It's just unparalleled! And if this wasn't enough, the animation is absolutely fantastic, even more so for the time Gurren Lagann came out.
Also, the music is fire as well and very fitting for the series.
Pros:
+ Insane over-the-top action
+ Engaging characters and story
+ Great pacing
+ Immense scale and power system
+ Gorgeous animation
Cons:
- Slow second act
Final Rating: 10/10
- Masterpiece -
It's been a while since I had so much fun while watching a series.
Absurd, ridiculous, epic, unique, insane, crazy, Gurren Lagann is all these terms combined, and it's very confident about it.
Without a doubt, one of the best experiences I had with an Anime series, period.
Do I recommend it?:
Hell yes!
Watch the first episode, and if you enjoy the style of it, watch the rest as well. If you don't enjoy the style of the first episode, don't bother watching the rest.

Despite not being the biggest fan of mecha, Code Geass managed to grab my attention with its interesting portrayal of the protagonist and the story.
My initial thoughts on the story though, were a little bit underwhelming because of the excessive amount of plot conveniences, however, the story got much better in the process. Overall, it's a great story with a cool concept, some amazing moments, a lot of crazy twists and turns, and a literally perfect ending that makes the entire story worth watching.
Same goes for the characters; they started out a bit underwhelming but they got better afterwards. Lelouch in particular, is arguably my
...
favorite protagonist of all time and undoubtedly one of my favorite fictional characters ever.
What managed to exceed my expectations even more though, is the animation, the fight scenes and the music; they're surprisingly good even to this day and I didn't expect that at all.
Lastly, it's not necessarily a flaw, but I feel like there's a bit too much fan-service in R2 that doesn't really fit in the series. I'm fine with fan-service in general though, so it's not a big deal, it just caught me by surprise.
Pros:
+ Compelling story with a beautiful ending
+ Good characters
+ Nice action scenes
Cons:
- Inconsistent writing
Final Rating: 8.5/10
- Really Great -
From feeling slightly disappointed to really liking the series, I can safely say that Code Geass impressed me.
I got to say, however, if it wasn't for the absolutely brilliant protagonist and the incredible ending, Code Geass wouldn't been nearly as good as it is.
Do I recommend it?:
Definitely! Even if you don't like mecha Anime series, it's worth watching Code Geass just for the protagonist and the ending alone.

The first season of Demon Slayer was good but not necessarily great.
Thankfully though, Mugen Train was much more fun and it made me appreciate the series more.
Entertainment District Arc, however, is something else.
While I don't have any thoughts on the story because it's not a pivotal part of the series yet, the characters have been infinitely more engaging and likable after the Mugen Train incident, and just like Kyojuro Rengoku, Uzui Tengen is quite a surprise; he's probably my favorite character in the series so far.
Also, I'm glad most of the annoying tropes from the first season have been toned down significantly.
What ufotable strives to
...
do the best in Demon Slayer isn't the characters or the story though, it's the animation and the fight scenes.
Now, I fully stand by what I'm about to say but I think Entertainment District Arc has, without a single doubt in my mind, the best animation and the best fight scenes I've ever seen in an animated series, ever.
Lastly, the second to last episode ("I Will Never Give Up") is undoubtedly my favorite episode in the entire series so far.
Pros:
+ Great characters
+ Best animation
+ Best fight scenes
Cons:
- None
Final Rating: 9/10
- Amazing -
Put simply, Entertainment District Arc is one of the most exciting things I've ever seen.
Just like how the title of my favorite episode suggests, Demon Slayer doesn't seem to give up; it went from a slow and slightly underwhelming first season to an insane second season.
With the Entertainment District Arc, I can safely say that Demon Slayer has the potential to be one of my favorite modern shonen Anime series.
Do I recommend it?:
Highly recommended! It only gets better and better.

Widely considered to be one of the greatest Visual Novels and Anime series of all time, I had to watch Steins;Gate.
I'm gonna be honest, I had very high expectations before getting into the series, however, after having finished watching Steins;Gate, I can safely say that it actually managed to live up to my expectations; the story is so goddamn intriguing, I couldn't stop watching. It has a slightly slow - albeit highly entertaining - start but it only gets better. It's an absolutely beautiful story overall with a lot of twists and turns, and it handles the concept of time travel surprisingly well.
Also, the characters
...
- particularly the main characters - are very likable and engaging, and the dialogue & character interactions are amazing.
Aside from the story and the characters though, Steins;Gate doesn't really have anything else going on for it, but it doesn't really need anything else because it manages to excel in both story and characters.
Besides, the opening theme is very good too, so that's a plus.
Pros:
+ Compelling story
+ Focused and well-executed concept
+ Great characters
Cons:
- None
Final Rating: 9.5/10
- Outstanding -
Steins;Gate is a wonderful psychological, narrative series and a timeless classic, and it's such a blast to watch, I wouldn't mind watching it for a second time.
Do I recommend it?:
It's a must-watch, and I highly recommend it to shonen Anime fans as well.

First of all, Mugen Train is a canon sequel to the first season of Demon Slayer and it connects the gap between the first season and the second season.
Now, the story in Mugen Train is just a minor part of a bigger narrative and it's not really important at all.
The characters, however, are quite good; in fact, they got better than before. I never really liked Tanjiro and Inosuke in the first season of the series as much as I liked them here. But the biggest surprise of them all is Kyojuro Rengoku; he was completely irrelevant in the first season of the series but
...
he surprised me in Mugen Train; I might like him more than the main characters of the series so far.
My favorite part of the movie though and its selling point is the absolutely excellent animation and fight scenes. The first season of Demon Slayer already had fantastic animation and great fight scenes but Mugen Train took it to another level; the animation in particular is undoubtedly one of the best I've ever seen, period.
As for the flaws, there is some CGI in the movie and it doesn't look good for the most part, unfortunately, but the rest of the movie looks gorgeous.
Also, the first half of the movie is somewhat uninteresting and not on par with the second half.
Pros:
+ Likable characters
+ Mind-blowing animation
+ Great fight scenes
Cons:
- CGI
- Slow first half
Final Rating: 7.5/10
- Very Good -
As someone who wasn't the biggest fan of the direction the first season of Demon Slayer was taking, Mugen Train left me satisfied and excited for the future of the series.
Do I recommend it?:
If you're a fan of the series, watch it.
If you aren't a fan of the series, I wouldn't recommend it.

I wanted to watch Death Note for a long time now but I never managed to get into the series until recently.
After hearing how Death Note doesn't necessarily excel in action, I expected it will emphasize on delivering a compelling story, and it does; the story is very intriguing, focused and amusing... for the most part.
Same goes for everything else, like the concept, the main characters and even the music.
Honestly, I haven't seen something like it before... however, unfortunately for the series, the second part (the last 12 episodes) is disappointing; it feels rushed, it introduces some uninteresting characters and most importantly, it lacks focus,
...
unlike the first part. On the bright side though, the second part is significantly shorter than the first part, it keeps some good elements from the first part and the ending is so good, it saves the series from going downhill.
Lastly, I don't consider it a flaw but I want to get this off my chest. Misa Amane - a major character - has to be the most stubborn and annoying character I've seen in a while; I'm genuinely impressed by how much she was able to make me despise her character, like... she's absolutely insufferable at times.
Pros:
+ Engaging story
+ Interesting concept
+ Good characters
+ Great music
Cons:
- Underwhelming second part
Final Rating: 8/10
- Great -
In the end, Death Note is extremely entertaining and unique despite the noticeable weaker second part.
Do I recommend it?:
Yes because it's surprisingly enjoyable.

I started watching Hunter × Hunter by the end of March, and 2 months later it's finally over.
Now, to be honest, Hunter × Hunter's pacing is quite slow, particularly in the Hunter Exam & Chimera Ant Arcs, however, the plot uses a ton of creative ideas to keep things fresh and enjoyable constantly, which is impressive, and the story gets much more interesting and mature in the process, and the pay-offs are some of the best I've seen in an Anime.
The characters are awesome; they're very engaging and "colorful", particularly the main characters and especially the villains; Hunter × Hunter has undoubtedly some of my
...
favorite villains I've ever seen! I was genuinely impressed by characters like Hisoka and Meruem, 2 of my favorite characters in the whole series.
Also, the music and the animation are great.
Unfortunately, despite having a sense of closure and a fantastic ending, the story is not entirely finished yet and it's probably never going to be finished; it's been 8 years since the series stopped releasing episodes.
That's probably my only "major" complaint about the series.
Pros:
+ Intriguing story
+ Wide variety of different ideas for each arc
+ Compelling and likable characters
+ Charming music
+ Beautiful animation
Cons:
- Slow pacing
- Unfinished bigger narrative
Final Rating: 9.5/10
- Outstanding -
Hunter × Hunter is an extremely well-rounded, entertaining and masterfully made series even if it's somewhat unfinished; it's an absolutely wonderful adventure filled with surprises.
Do I recommend it?:
Definitely yes! Unless 148 full episodes is too much for you.
