The stark contrast between the anime and literature has influenced me to write my first review, and unfortunately, it isn’t good. This is giving me Promised Neverland S2 vibes. The main problem is they’re manipulating character archetypes and unnecessarily adding characters that don’t need to be added (ex: Blond Twin Tailed girl). They changed the character design of Alium from a Dio-type to your run of the mill Malfoy reject. Even Professor Gray, who in the manga was a mix of Aizawa and Yami, is reduced to a scary, sniffling errand girl in the battle scene in ep. 4. They’ve split Amelia’s personality in two, ... giving some of her Tsundere nature to the blond twin tails. By changing the character dynamics, it’s reducing the show to a cheap copy of shows like “Irregular at Magic High School” and the like. This is definitely one of those, “The book was better” shows.
