009-1 is what happens when a slightly above average series goes under the radar of the average viewer and such has no real following. We end up in a place where the show is criminally under watched as there are things for viewers other than myself.
To start with, it is more shocking that this even got an adaptation than anything else. The manga began serialization in 1967 and ended in 1974 whereas this adaptation came out in 2006. Eat-Man is one of those shows that you'll pick up on whim based on the title alone and then the pace will either cause you drop it or you will slog through until the final couple of episodes because that's where any of the overarching story is.
Story: 3 The story is rather poor being a very episodic show. Until the last 3 episodes, there is almost no plot progression. The general plot for all of the other episodes follows around some girl that Bolt Crank has met this week and he will do some "mercenary" work which is just odd jobs. I enjoyed the show quite a bit. The art was just fine. No complaints concerning the art. The sound was good to. The ending song is higher up on my list of ending songs then a lot of the other anime I have watched. The characters felt a little flat. I didn't feel that they were flushed out enough. Especially Mikage. I felt that the pacing was really slow and that they could have rushed through some of it. There was one slight problem with the anime and that was that it felt incomplete.
