> SIMILARITIES: Everyday life comedies about "I got a new buddy who is not a human" - Both stories are about a human spending time and building a friendship with a creature from another area of his/her world (mythological creature or gods). - This creature have a half human, half animal body. - This creature is a weirdo among its fellows (the funny weirdo not the creepy one) because of a strong (but yet something annoying for the human which it so funny for us watcher) personality. - The stories take place in the human world but we get to discover the "other" world and the other weirdo friends of this endearing creature. We also discover that despite their origins, they have the same problem (annoying but great friends, perverts, heartbreak and parent issues, etc.) and even lifestyle (especially in Muromi-san for the latter) > DIFFERENCES - Muromi-san is only about trying to make you laugh like hell (you can guess it just from the opening) as in Nekogami sometime they try to make you cry (don't worry, only one or two drops no more) - Muromi-san's story is really focus on present and the creature: the story start when they met and we don't get to know the past or current life of the human so we only know him through Muromi, but we get to know some stuff about the past life of Muromi-san. - The humour is more composed in Negokami: no boobs bashing for example... (yes it's a must-seen scene in Muromi-san)

[Bear with me please: it is just a first impression, I will properly discuss the similarities and differences (or even delete it) when Mekakucity will be finished] > SIMILARITIES One-of-the-kind animes due to their original (sometime unstructured) cinematography/storytelling, which talk about supernatural things happening in current digital societies (should we call that "Digital" Science-fiction?). - Original graphic (the graphic of the layout is versatile to make sometime the character stand out and another time the in-the-moment-story stand out) - Storytelling (everyone is lost at the beginning because they don't know what is happening or don't know how to handle it (no real leader nor guide) ¦ it seems that everything will go back to normal, not thanks to the special attributes of the main characters, but rather when the social issue of the characters, and the society in general, will be addressed) - Collision between digital and real world () - Voice actors (to confirm).
