Alright! My 4th review here at mal.. first if you are a grammar nazi then don’t bother reading my review. Why? English is not my native language. Some or most are spoilers ahead so if didn’t played the game then it’s better to back off and read other’s review for this adaption. Since this contains major or a lot of spoilers thru out the anime be brave enough to click the spoilers button if they have lol. And I am a huge fan of Persona 4 so here goes nothing lol. So, if you are disappointed with my grammars then I am sorry seriously ... :P


Alright let us start with the BGM, I rate it 7. The BGM is poorly overused. Sometimes the BGM is making it awkward to watch this cause the game itself doesn’t have much voice over thru out the dialog. The anime is different cause you will hear the characters talking to each other with voices. Although the execution when on the dungeon is still there the dialogues are purely voiced out or overlapped so the great BGM is replaced by shouting/talking. This is also great cause they’ve used the original cast from the game. Also note that the OP 1 and OP 2 are from the game. Pursuing My True Self as OP 1 from the OP Credits from the game got remixed. Longer instrumental lol. Sky's the Limit well, kinda good for the beat.Beauty of Destiny for ED, I didn't really listened to this one. Except for the ED song from Episode 18. Burn My Dread OP at episode 15 brought back the atmosphere at persona 3.


Art. I will rate it 7. 2d isn’t fit for the usual characters that I often see when I am playing the game version of this although Yukiko is hotter than usual lol. I have no complains either at the animation. Some fighting scenes are good some are not. The lack of color is what I am pointing out here. But if you don’t mind the colors like I do its fine.


Now for the story …. If you didn’t really played the game before you won’t understand a goddamn thing about this. Social links are the HUGE yeah I really mean HUGE part of the story. Although I am happy the social links fit the situation from the anime, some are really out of place like. I will give out the details later on when the airing is finished so there would be not much spoilers. I will rate 6/10



Like I said earlier about the story you won’t understand a goddamn thing about what the eff is happening at the characters. The characters revolves around the Social Links. some scenes are cut or rather than giving them more screentime they just cut the whole thing out. I will put 6 at the characters.


Now for the enjoyment so far for me. I will give it 7. I understand what is the “Social Link” so the enjoyment for this anime is a hit for me. I think they only focused on the Hermit, Chariot, Lovers, Magician, Emperor, Fortune, Star, Priestess and Justice social link. Although some of the awaited social links are seen over the anime but not that good compare to the game.
Overall? I will give this a 6. Some fit some doesn’t . I believe that handling a game to anime is HARD. But not this crappy show although I am still watching it and barely holding until the “ true ending “

Story: 9/10
The story revolves around Nura Clan. A Clan of “youkai” that controls 10,000 demons. Amongst them is what they called “supreme commander” a very powerful “youkai”.
Now for the protagonist story so far. Nurarhiyon no Mago didn’t lack story backgrounds at all. They explained what happened in the past with the right execution. Except for the flashbacks that his ... season lacked. The jabs also were at the right timing and in the right scene.
The first antagonist didn’t lack also the background which is a factor plus because you know why he did that and those. Over all pacing are great. There is no filler. None at all. Some scenes from manga are cut here and placed at the second season instead.

Art: 8/10
IMO the sword/katana fighting are the main stream of this, the animation was great. Also the opening credits were great it’s well drawn. The ending credits weren’t that good compare to the opening. The chibi or the miniture forms of the characters didn’t fit. The genre of this was supposed to be "Monster" not a "Cute" or "Moe" one.
The youkai are well drawn, Animations are really great.

Sound: 8/10
Opening song was great. Fast Forward by Money Majik. Every time I’m listening to the full version I also sang.The BGM when Nurarhiyon attacks a youkai has a good execution. The back ground tracks fit every scene Nurarhiyon no Mago has to offer. What destroyed the good sounds is the ending song. It didn’t fit what genre nurarhiyon has. The 2nd one didn't make it for me either.

Characters: 8/10
The characters fit what personalities they have. Adding characters while the story progress with their background is also a plus factor, at the same time Rukio is “growing” every episode. They also didn’t lack time executing who is going to “grow” with the explanation.
The character development is great. Overall the adaption from the manga onto an anime didn't lacked anything except less than 10 chapters form the start but not that huge character back story. Try to read the manga first rather knowing it here (at the review)

Enjoyment: 9/10
I really did enjoy this. Various scenes will be enjoyable while watching this. You will be caught in suspense, laugh at the jabs and get excited on the katana fights. And this anime already leave a huge impression to me and still continued for the 2nd season!

Final Score: 9/10
It’s up to you to decide whether you gonna watch this or ditch it, but imo this anime is great. The jokes are in the right time. Great Music and the BGM is really mixed on the scenes. Great Art and Character development.

Story: 8/10

Otaku is now a god!? That wasn’t a bad thing. What if you became a god? What will you do? Then you entered a contract without knowing what the contract is? And you can’t end the contract that easily, and by the way the contract will end your life if the conditions didn’t meet.
The reason that I read this manga was because of the harem genre. There are currently 7 female excluding Elsee/Elsea/Elly or whatever and Hakua. Still the girls or the harem factor is still growing. The story became confusing on chapter 90-110 it wasn’t so clear (IMO). The ... story became random instantly. And the antagonist only has short time compare to the protagonists.

Art: 9/10

I really don’t have an eye when it comes to manga. But the art of this manga was good. Especially when the two protagonists are in their chibi forms. Also the noticeable form when it comes to chibi is Elsee when she sees a fire truck.

Characters: 9/10
There are so many characters to review so I can’t really point out some to review. First let’s focus on the antagonist that this manga lacked.
The antagonist has only 1 Colum per uhhh, didn’t know I think I saw him only 2 times while reading the 11 volumes of this manga. And he’s only line was “tch” or whatever he is saying.
Keima can now interact on different people after meeting Elsee his “buddy”. And he is forgetting that he is an otaku when he and Elsee got a “capturing” mission.
Elsee, she didn’t change one bit. But the fact that she loves fire trucks is unbelievable. But when she is depressed or sad is also unbelievable.

Enjoyment: 10/10
This manga made me teary, laugh out loud, sad, excited or should I say that I felt a lot of mixed emotion when reading this. I really enjoyed this. I started reading it only for the jabs but I was wrong! After reading 30 chapters it gave me already the excitement what will happen in the next chapter.

Final Score: 9/10
Why 9 you say? Just try to read the volume 1 and you will be quickly hooked on the story. I can’t say anything anymore. Well that’s because this is my first review (on manga) after 1yr of watching animes and reading mangas that are scattered on the Net: P

Story: 4/10
Oh. Resident Evil on anime! Yay! Bzzzt! Yes it’s same but HOTD sucked big time. It’s nearly ending and there is nothing special happening! Character background lacks further more this is a suspense anime not HAREM!!! HOTD only does fan service + boy and girl alone for almost 2 episodes.

Art: 9/10
It’s well drawn. I have nothing against on the art when it comes to HOTD. For me this anime has the greatest art on summer anime lineup. The characters are well drawn and of course the zombies

Sound: 8/10
The opening really rocks. I’m listening to it when I was writing this review. ... The seiyuu also fits the characteristic of the character it’s near perfect if only the male protagonist wasn’t shouting a lot.

Characters: 4/10

There is no development overall. When you’re watching this you will only see this factor. Boy accepts who or what the girl whose with him whether it’s a bad or a good personality. There is nothing happening when boy + girl is stuck to a certain area. They are not even maturing.

Enjoyment: 6/10
I did enjoy some fan service scenes panties showing at the right time. But nothing follows.

Overall: 4/10
Instead of wasting your bandwidth and time for this anime go download/watch hentai instead. This is one of the “wasted” anime on summer line up this year, it has a great impression at episode 1 and got good music/bgm and the art was best but after episode 5 nothing more. It’s up to you if you want to watch a fan service suspense anime that nothing happens.
