Both shows have a strong focus on character and development, and are very character driven. While their competitive sports are an important part of each show, the characters and their relationships are the main driving forces. The characters are relatable, but also a little bit exaggerated - a little bit humorous - both in appearance and personality. Friendship and teamwork between 'enemies' is another major theme in both shows, where neither show has 'bad guys' or 'good guys' despite everyone competing very seriously. You want to cheer for everyone! Every character is interesting and has their own unique stories and relationships. I think if you enjoy YOI, you'll definitely enjoy Hiakyuu!!

Both series have similar plots, similar character relations, similar love triangles, similar character designs and an overall similar feel. Both Yukari and Haruhi are short, small breasted scholarship girls who get pushed into a life where they're surrounded by rich, stunningly good looking guys. And in both cases, the girls have to disguise themselves as a boy. They're both more intelligent than your average cutesy shouju main, and they're also both really poor. I also think that Ryou and Aya from PR have a similar relationship to Tamaki and Kyouya from OHSHC and, in some respects, even similar personalities. There are other main and supporting characters in PR that remind me of Ouran characters. The biggest differences between the two, I think, is the paneling (PR is just nicer to read and easier to follow in that regard) and the length (OHSHC is a lot longer). If anyone likes one of these manga, then I strongly recommend trying out the other too~

Both characters are in similar situations. They both lost their older brother, and have been entrusted to their older brother's best friend. The older brother's death is very mysterious and almost suspicious in both manga, and in both cases appear to be more important to the plot than we think at first. Both main characters fall in love with their brother's best friend, who, in both manga, is an adult and much older than the Main, and is often referred to as a pedophile (jokingly by friends, usually.) Both main characters are cute, awkward and shy, but still very mentally and emotionally strong and intelligent, unlike most leads in shouju series. Both 'Brother's Best Friends' are over protective of the main character. They were both very, very close to the Main's older brother and would do anything to protect his sibling. But one of the biggest things that make these two shouju similar is that both manga have more action and violence and nitty gritty reality than you're typical romance.

Both series have that 'shonen-ai vibe', adventure, action, and overall quite a similar plot. Both main characters are younger and somewhat naive, and are being helped, guided and protected by an older character. Both main characters are important to the government because of their powers or abilities, and both are wanted by the enemy and being protected by a large organization. Most male characters are 'pretty boys' with character designs and personalities to appeal to woman. The comedy is similar, and so are some of the action scenes. Overall, I'd recommend Karneval to anyone who enjoyed 07 Ghost, and vice versa,

Both of these series have a similar vibe for me. Both the main characters are highschool students bored of their current lives, who accidentally end up with power over a huge amount of people. They both keep their real identities a secret from their followers, and their followers are a mixture of old, young, rich, poor, etc. Both series also have darkly fantastical creatures; in Death Note, the Shinigame, and in Durarara, the Dullahan. However, despite their ominous appearances and folktales, neither being is evil. They both give guidance to the main character, without supplying all the information and working for their own cause. I would definitely recommend Durarara to anyone to enjoyed Death Note, and vica-versa.

Both of these series have similar protagonists. Ciel and Oz are wealthy children from prestigious families living in historical London, and they both have a close relationship with their servants. Both boys have entered into a contract with an otherworldly creature and both their servants (Sebastian and Gilbert) have dark and mysterious personalities, and even look a little similar. Both stories could be considered dark, but they're both lightened with a little humor and eccentric characters. Also in both series Dolls are used as a symbol for madness and some characters are not as they appear. Also, and this is something I feel I have to include, there is a little fanservice and suggestive scenes between Young Master and servant to attract shonen-ai fan viewers. However, it's not so heavy in either that it should turn off people who are not so fond of shonen-ai.

Both are shouju romance anime series that revolve around a high school school girl and two or more boys.
