Both anime deal with gangs, mafias, and other groups fighting over turf through crimes of violence and drug-dealing. Both also have characters with physical abilities that surpass the limits of normal humans. There's a good amount of action and mystery in both anime plus the art styles are somewhat similar.

In both of these anime music plays a large role in the development of characters and romance. There is also plenty of drama and feels. Differences include White Album 2 being more on the serious side, while Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso tends to be a little less serious through its addition of comedy.

Ao Haru Ride
|
The main male characters in both anime are very pessimistic thus giving off quite a depressing vibe. They both do give some pretty good advice though when "helping" others. A love triangle is also present in both anime. While both anime are Rom-coms, Oregairu tends to not focus on romance as much as Ao Haru Ride.

Terra Formars: Bugs 2-hen

Both anime have a dark and serious theme where humanity is forced to face a much larger and stronger enemy than themselves. The enemies (Titans in SnK and Mutant Cockroaches in Terra Formars) both mercilessly slaughter humanity like if there is no tomorrow. Humanity is not completely screwed as our main cast in both anime do have a trump card at hand.

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
|
These two anime both feature a futuristic world which is filled with magic and magic-related elements. Strike the Blood goes a bit further by also adding in some supernatural elements. They both contain action and romance, but Strike the Blood also adds in some ecchi and comedy. Both anime also feature annoying, yet skillful female main characters. You have Miyuki from Mahouka who calls her brother Tatsuya by "Onii-sama" about a hundred times per episode and Yukina from Strike the Blood who insists on interrupting Kojou's catchphrase "This is my fight" with her infamous "No Senpai, this is OUR fight."

These shounen battle-anime feature battles that rely more on strategy and tactics rather than on raw power and strength. Also the battles are usually short and to the point. In these anime one character doesn't hog the spotlight either. Each main character gets their time to shine.

Durarara!!
|
In both anime there are several gangs/factions fighting for power and control over their respective cities. Both also feature a mysterious person that, from the shadows, gets involved with the rivalries between the gangs by manipulating them. Other than that both anime are quite different. Texhnolyze is slow paced, darker, depressing and contains sci-fi elements unlike Durarara which is mostly the opposite and has supernatural elements in it.

Shigurui
|
The two main characters of each anime are very similar. Irako from Shigurui and Griffith from Berserk are both men who have come from a very low status and share the goal of ascending to the top. Likewise, Fujiki from Shigurui and Guts from Berserk are both very loyal men who always get the job done. Both anime are also very dark containing lots of violence, blood, gore, and sex and should be intended for more mature audiences.
