While "Life" focuses more onto different stages of their lives, NYNY is way more in-depth, but both show ups and down, problems and even how their lives come to an end. As I just finished Life, I instantly thought of NYNY, so I wanted to make this recommendation.

HTI really reminded me of BF in a lot of ways, but it would too much of a spoiler to explain it. But to put it simple: both are sad stories with 2 male MCs trying to escape something and in the very end it just becomes more sad.

Ouji no Kikan

When I read Ouji no Kikan, there were 2 moments where I had to think of Banana Fish even though both manga have barely anthing in common: 1st moment (Ouji no Kikan): Kou thinking the following about Fumihiro "With no conditions, he accepted me. That made me really happy." That reminded me of Ash talking about Eiji from Banana Fish. 2nd moment (By His Side): Hachiya calling Shimizu 'Onii-chan', even though Shimizu is just a supporting character - but I got reminded of Ash's and Eiji's peaceful moments in the bought apartment, when they were at ease and Ash called him the same. But that is already about it.

Surprised this was not related to each other yet... - drugs - mafia - guns - a blonde male main character who is good at deceiving others - in comparison his partner in crime - the other main lead - is naive and way more innocent - a moment where a main person is shooting themselves in order to protect their partner - a bromance-feeling but not actually a romance going on

It's about an arranged marriage, while the guy has his eyes on someone else.

They start quite innocent, the main guy meets the main girl on supernatural terms and from an innocent start it all goes dark and gore in the end and both have a more or less open end to think about.
