The next time an Anime character says: 'I...I...I..' I'm gonna punch someone, I swear to God. Damn even if I wanted to I wouldn't be able to count the times a person says that and doesn't finish their sentence. But alright, the review.
Story:
The story isn't actually bad. The story has quite some depth, including the background stories of the characters (in fact this is probably the most important thing in the story). Especially because it features shounen ai, it is a more unique story than a standard romance story. Because let's face it; this is a romance anime. Sure there is some fighting, but not
...
very much. The few (compared to other anime with similar stories) fighting scenes are also generally short.
The problem with the story however, are the characters. Most are cool and good, except the main character. Will talk about that later.
Art:
I think it is comparable to anime such as Zombie Loan. I'm glad they chose for normal eyes and stuff like that. Unlike other things, the art and animation didn't throw me off. It was actually quite good.
Sound:
I just said the Art didn't throw me off. The sound did. Not in overall, but the most important sound did. And that is the main character's voice. Honestly damn how annoying can a voice be, seriously. I wouldn't really care if a side character had this voice, but the main guy just talks so much with that annoying voice. It actually makes the conversations involving the main guy and someone else annoying. I honestly thought of stop watching this anime the first episodes just because of his voice.
Character:
This is probably the thing that the anime does best, and does worst.
Let me start with the not-so-imporant side characters. These are actually done quite well. They all have a very specific personality, are not boring and for boy-lovers here: The guys in this anime are hot. I absoluty have no problems with these characters.
But now to the main character: this guy is so fucking annoying. No, it's not because that is how he's supposed to be. It's because he's crying all the fucking time, always complaining, always trying to be the good guy and always talks with this annoying voice. I have never seen such a boring main character. I couldn't' care less about him. Even though he is the core of the story, this anime would have been so much better without him. The anime should have focused on the other characters.
Enjoyment:
This is probably the first anime I have watched completely while really struggling to finish it. The only thing that kept me watching was the story and the other characters, but it was a hard time and I wouldn't recommend this anime to anyone. There are plenty of better anime out there with this setting and a good story.

Ao no exorcist had the potentional to become a masterpiece, but unfortunately was only great during about halftime of the series.
Story:
In a modern age, similar to ours, there are both demons and exorcists. The story follows the son of Satan, the lord of the demon world. The son, who's name is Rin, has a weaker, but smarter twin brother. They are not 100% demon. They were born from a human woman.
At the year of 15 both Rin and his brother go to a special school for exorcists because of certain circumstances (won't give spoilers). Here Rin follows lessons to become an exorcist, which is
...
odd because he is the son Satan, and thus the son of the leader of demons.
The story was very good until about halfway of the anime. Especially when Rin gets into the school you feel like the story is kickass. Unfortunately however at that point things get rushed (which you can kinda expect because the anime only has 25 episodes) to the climax of the anime. The rush, along with the few filler episodes, make an odd balance. The story already is quite short, so there really shouldn't be fillers in the anime.
This doesn't mean the rest of the anime was bad, though. It just wasn't as good as the first half. Things become predictable, while in the first half there were quite a few plot twists. On top of that the ending is very open. I expect there to be a second season, but there hasn't been one announced yet. But because of the ending, I'm quite sure they are aiming for a second season. Otherwise the ending is just lame.
Art and Animation:
The art is quite original. Some people like to compare it to Soul Eater, but the art is more modern and realistic at most points. There is a lot of detail in character art, aswell in the art of demons. It is clear they put a lot of effort in the art. There has been no scene I can remember that looked ugly. The animations of the fights could have been better though. I feel like the action in fights was kinda limited and they never went full-out. This may be because the main character is incredibly strong, but even so I have the feeling they put more effort in non-action scenes than action scenes.
Other than that the art and animation are very good and original.
Sound:
Meh, can't be to positive about that. I found the intro's and outro's plain weak and simple. To me it seems they didn't put much effort in it at all.
The voices of characters on the other hand were good. The voices fit for the characters.
Character:
Hmm. I didn't think the main character was anything special really. He's incredibly stupid, but very strong. This gives some hilarious moments, and I admit the comedy side of the anime is very well. But the development of the character kind of disappointed me. Even animes with fewer episodes (12-13) have better development. The reason that the main character doesn't show much development may be because the show focuses on other characters too, which isn't a bad thing, but it does mean they can spend less time on the main character than you'd wish for.
Other characters however are great. Although they don't show much development either, they all have a clear personality. Some more interesting than others, that must be said. The principal of the school is funny as hell for example, while some monk kid is boring as hell but yet gets a full episode about him.
There is also a bit of fanservice, but not too much. So a healthy balance.
Enjoyment:
Even though at some points in the review I'm bashing the anime, I can't deny that time flew when I watched this. Where other, shorter, anime sometimes feel like a lifetime, this show ended way to early and I wouldnt have minded it to last atleast twice as long. The show was very entertaining and I hope there will be a second season.

WARNING:
Do not be mislead by the first few (1-2) episodes. At first this may seem like a typical happy school romance, but it's nothing like that. There is a reason there is a 17+ rating. It's really an adult anime.
Story:
School days is a heavy psychological anime. I didn't have any expectations for this anime. If anything, I expected it to be a romance. The story is much more than that.
The story is about a guy who falls in love with a girl who he also rides the train with. Another girl he has been friends with for ages introduces him to her. However,
...
this girl is also in love with the guy. The story plays with your feelings. I don't think I've ever had an anime I felt so awkward watching. It may just be my lack of experience - I haven't seen that many psychological anime - but I am sure you will not feel happy watching this anime. This is also a reason why people rate it low, and I can't blame them. I hate this anime. But the reason I hate it, is exactly why this anime is a masterpiece. No story has ever touched me like this, and no story has ever wanted me to quit following it just because it was to heavy for me. You know what's going to happen, it's not like things are unexpected except a few things. But because of the pace the story has, and the few plot twists, the story is very hard to watch. Not because it is not interesting, it's because you know what's going to happen but you also know you won't like it when it happens. You just don't want to see it happen.
Another reason the story is so touching, I think, is because you can really relate to it at some points.
I recommend to, if you decide to watch it, watch in in one go. It takes a few hours, but it's worth it if you really want to watch it. If you watch it in parts, I think the anime will lose some of it's impact. And the only reason the anime is so good is because of the impact.
Art:
The art is comparable to other modern anime. It's modern and looks good. The only thing that irritated me for the first two episodes, was the fact that the eyes looked a bit odd. It's not new to have eyebrows, but in this anime characters also have a black line under their eyes that look just like their eyebrows. But again, this only irritating the first two episodes. After that you get used to it because the story is so intriguing. It's nothing to punish the anime for, because anything else regarding art and animation is good enough.
Sound:
The sound really adds to the story. Some scenes probably wouldn't have been as good as they are without the background music. The voices for the characters fit well aswell and the intro and outra change depending on the feeling that covers an episode. I must admit I skip the outra and intro most times, but from what I heard they were good. Just like the story, they are depressing.
Characters:
Now this is what makes the story so good but they are also quite misleading. Upon watching the first two episodes, you wouldn't expect what will be going on later. Although the characters are in high school, they act like adults. There's lots of fanservice (nothing new here), however the fanservice is not just to please the watchers. It also adds to the story because sex is an important thing in this show. Especially for the main character.
Now for the main characters. He is your typical perverted boy who grows up but doesn't become less perverted. Although I'm not sure the "grow up" part covers the development in his personality. He does develop, but some may question if that is a good thing. I don't think the main character is the one who steals the show in this anime. Personally I think the side characters (who can also be considered main characters) are the ones who make this anime so interesting. Betrayal, love, broken hearts, violence, and many other things is what drives the characters to do things you'd rather not see.
At some (most?) times you hate the main character and want to beat the crap out of him, at other times you feel sorry for him. The same counts for the other characters. There is no character in this anime that has a clear personality. There are no characters that are perfect, no characters that are only friendly and no characters that are only the bad guys. Just in real life, every character has their own personalities which change over time aswell. Even the character who looks the most friendly reveals their true face over time. Just when you feel attached to a character, a situation comes up and you suddenly hate him or her.
I could talk for hours about them, but I think the best way to describe them is: human. They are human. Just like real life, nothing is what it seems.
Enjoyment:
I think this the key thing in this anime. I did not enjoy this anime. I did not want to continue watching. And hell, I didn't laugh even once. This anime made me depressed when watching it, and it made me awkward when awkward scenes were shown. But hell, that is exactly what the anime makes so good. The anime isn't trying to comfort you, nor is it trying to make you pleased. It's not trying to bring a smile on your face, not even when it shows fanservice. Do you see boobs? It's probably because someone is cheating on someone or because someone feels forced to. You won't feel happy seeing it.
Overall:
I think the only conclusion I can make is that it's really a masterpiece. You won't enjoy a single bit of the anime, but there is no way you can deny this show is a very good.

A very unique anime.
Story 7/10:
The story began so very promising. The mysterious feeling it had along with the "unknown" element made it a very entertaining show to watch. You keep guessing what's to come and what it's all about, and basically every ending of the first few episodes ends with a cliffhanger. The story pace is good aswell for this kind of short anime. But at some point the biggest mystery has been revealed. What's left are a few minor mysteries, while the anime desperately tries to keep your attention by using half-lame cliffhangers. The only reason I kept watching was because there are only
...
so few episodes left anyway. However, there is a clear quality drop at about halfway of the story. The biggest selling of the anime - the mystery - gets revealed to early. Sure there are one or two mysteries left, but they are not interesting enough and the answers to them aren't satisfying aswell. In fact, now that I think about it, none of the climaxes were that great. This may be because of the few number of episodes. I think it would be better if they had made it longer.
In the end I enjoyed the story for what it was, but it could have been so much better. Especially the first few episodes were very much of a higher quality in storyline than the last ones.
Art 10/10:
Now the art, on the other hand, is just perfect. Especially landscapes are very nice to see. It's an unique style of art. The art of the characters are fine aswell, but not much better than your average anime, unlike the landscape I spoke of just now. Shadows are done nice, facial expressions are clear, and especially the special effects are good. You can see they put alot of effort in the art and animation. The only remark I have on the art are about the characters. Sometimes they seem to simplistic, and not much different than other characters.
Sound 8/10:
The sound is fine. The sounds of explosions and such are what you would expect to sound them like in real life, the background music during emotional scenes have been done nice, etc.
I do think the outro was done to lazy. Just a simple song that has, in my opinion, nothing to do with the anime except that it's slow.
Character 7/10:
There are quite a few characters in the anime. In fact I think there are to many. Because of the few number of episodes this anime has, and to many characters, not all characters get a chance to develop well. I only felt attracted to two (the main) characters. I couldn't care less about the others, with an exception here and there. The two main characters don't show much development as in personality, but both are mysterious enough to keep you interested in them. It's just to bad the show is also about side characters who are not interesting at all. The moment they introduce the characters, you basically know all about them and they are just not that special. You've got the standard smart girl who also happens to be the class president, you've got the nerd, you've got the innocent boy, the caring teachers, etc.
Character development is absolutely nowhere to be found in this anime. The only reason the main characters are interesting is because of how they look, and because they are mysterious.
Enjoyment 8/10:
In the end I must say I enjoyed the show, but it's nothing more than an average show with as plus point the well done mystery. Unfortunately the mystery gets worse throughout the serie, but still good enough to enjoy the show. On one hand the few amount of episodes is a good thing - I don't think I would be interested enough to continue watching after this last 12th episode. On the other hand the story may have been better if the serie was longer.
Overall a 7 out of 10.

Well the anime has come to an end (I heard), so it's time to write a review.
Story:
The story got me hooked right away. You don't see these kind of stories often, atleast not with this particular setting. However, as much as I loved the story, when I finished the anime I had the feeling they could have done so much more with it. I haven't read the manga so I can't judge the original story and whether it is the same as this Anime story, but I felt like this story was really potentional but focused to much on the wrong things. The story is
...
predictable at some points, at other points it isn't.
My main points of critique are about the ending of the story. Just when you feel an EPIC new Arc is about to begin, suddenly the anime ends with a lame plot twist which basically makes the whole story useless. I don't want to give spoilers, but I feel obligated to warn you that the promising, cool and awesome story you follow for pretty much the whole series, gets destroyed in the last episode. That's all I have left to say about the story. I was very dissapointed with the ending of the story. Perhaps it's better and different in the manga because the anime got cancelled. I don't know if the manga continues.
Art:
The art is good. Detailed and is satisfying.
Sound:
I must admit the sound wasn't outstanding. I can't remember a specific song or sound. But that also means it never disturbed me so I suppose the sound is fine as it is.
Character:
The characters are great. You can clearly see progress in their personalities. It's just to bad it never gets to the point you're waiting for, because the Anime got cancelled. Perhaps the manga continues, like said before.
Enjoyment:
All in all I enjoyed this anime very much. Until the last episode. The last episode was just bullshit, honestly. It makes me feel like I shouldn't have started this Anime to begin with because of it. It's probably the worst ending ever. Even though, I can't deny I enjoyed the anime for the other 59 episodes so it would be unfair to say I didn't enjoy the Anime. But I still can't ignore the ending. My enjoyment could have been a 10, but because of the ending it will be a 8.
In overall I enjoyed the anime.
