TLDR: As far as the story goes, this is the best Liella season, and probably my favorite non-Nijigasaki LoveLive season. However, it also has possibly the worst music of any LoveLive season (at least since the original 2) and they seem to have saved all of the good music for the secondary songs on the CDs that contain the songs from the anime.
The character writing this season is definitely some of the best in LoveLive. For example, while the first 3 episodes or so are nothing really that special, episode 4 dealt with a slightly dark topic and completely changed my opinion on one of
...
the characters. Natsumi really just always seemed like a gimmick character, which they always seem to have a few of in every group. But it seems like Liella really doesn't have any gimmicky characters anymore, which I can really appreciate.
Another thing I can appreciate over every other LoveLive season/group is that it feels like there is a real resolution with what will happen to the group after the 3rd years leave, and even what will happen to the 3rd years after they leave. The original (muse's anime/movie) did a terrible job with this, and I feel like Aqours' anime did a bad job with it as well, but I feel like if Liella's story ended here, I wouldn't have a single complaint.
That being said, it's still not perfect. For how good of an episode 4 was, there was another episode that was complete filler and honestly fairly boring. It felt like it shouldn't have even been there considering the only noteworthy information they gave was that there performance in the previous episode was amazing, despite it being probably their worst song so far. I just felt like I was being gaslit the whole episode. There was also supposed to be a Chisato episode (I think) where we barely saw Chisato at all and she ended up singing the ending. I definitely feel every character got their time to shine this season except for Chisato, but I always felt like Chisato is the type to do all of the work and take none of the credit, so maybe it is fitting. There was another point where there was very obviously supposed to be a song, but instead the episode just kind of ends... It didn't seem like a big deal, but was just kind of weird.
Which leads me into the worst part of this season: the music. I don't understand why they didn't use the CD songs instead of some of the songs they used. Itsumo no peace sign would have been a perfect song to replace the song I mentioned earlier, and while I kind of like "Superstar" (the song) it doesn't feel like it should have been the song to win their final LoveLive because it really isn't that good. I just always think back to how they sang Starlight Prologue (one of their best songs) and supposedly lost, and I compare that to this and it just doesn't make any sense.
This is also the first season of LoveLive to break the mold of not showing men's faces. Not sure if that's good or bad, but it is notable considering people always associate LoveLive as the series that men don't really exist. (or they do, but are never shown)

On one hand it's a pretty sad and thought provoking story about how women treat dogs better than men. On the other hand it's completely a degenerate story about weird kinks and bestiality.
The art is very good and it's pretty good overall, it just seems like some of it drags on too long like a family guy joke.
Also, can we talk about how reviewers are complaining about the plotline? I don't think that's why one would watch a show like this
story: 3/10
oppai: 10/10 (but there were too few)
art: 8/10
overall:
...
7/10 too many dogs
Apparently that's not enough information for my review so: dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs dogs

I decided to binge watch this because I saw that it was a rated around 8.3 and that would put it up with some of my favorite anime of all time. Obviously this is not deserving of an 8.3. It takes 10 episodes to get good and then it just kind of ends. The way it ends makes the whole show seem like a waste of time anyway. As if they don't really care about MyGO because they're not that great and the whole show was just to set up for a better band that they will make a show for next.
The art style is
...
just as horrendous as all other bandori anime, barring the original. The worst CG garbage still being produced. 0/10
The characters are completely ridiculous, but I think that's the point. I found the character that was the most relatable was Rana and that's probably because she's the one with the least screen time. Honestly didn't really care for the other characters. And again, maybe that's the point as they seem to have gone completely crazy with making the characters as ridiculous and unlikable as possible. 4/10
Despite this, episodes 10, 11, and 12 are basically the whole show. They are very good. Every one of my 4 points I give this show is because of these 3 episodes. However, Episode 13 is a big slap in the face and I don't recommend watching it

Appropriately modeled from a mobile game, this seems to just be a way to get people to play the game instead of being an actual Modoka Magica side story.
The story plays out like someone's first draft where they wrote the entire story non-stop in one sitting. What you thought was the entire point of the story, gets continually more and more downplayed throughout, as if the author lost interest and instead began to favor a new story half way through. It results in an unsatisfying, absurd, and inconclusive story, which is a far cry from the original anime and movie
The visuals, while more
...
CG than the original, are still fairly good. And, of course, the music is still fantastic

Every time I watch this movie it gets better, unlike the original 12 episode series which I still gave a 10. There's just so many small details to be noticed each time you watch this that you never could have noticed on your first viewing. The only thing that this falls short in from the original series is maybe the music, but that's a lot to live up to, so I gave sound a 9.
10/10 in every other category from me
The art is a big step up, the story gets better the more you watch it.
I was thinking of not giving it a 10
...
because there is no way to legally watch it in the US anymore, but that's not the fault of the people who actually put the work into making the movie.

This has been my favorite anime for the longest time, but for some reason I've never reviewed it. I give everything a 10 except the story and the character categories. Story gets a 9 because of some minor plot holes, but those only become relevant after you've watched the show a second time so who cares. I gave character a 7 because there are some characters that I just flat out hate, but maybe it was designed that way.
The visuals and the sound alone make this a 10/10 for me. The music is amazing and the visuals fall short only of the Madoka Magica Rebellion
...
movie.
I won't say anything else other than don't do what I did and spoil it halfway through. I almost quit watching because it seemed like it was going nowhere by episode 5, so I looked up the rest but that was a big mistake.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS
Warning: this review could not be written without spoilers, but I would have found the movie more enjoyable if I knew how it ended beforehand.
Honestly, I would have preferred a predictable, cliche story than the one given because the plot for the movie makes absolutely NO SENSE.
.
.
SPOILERS AHEAD:
What do I mean? Well the movie was very good up until this point where Honoka meets this street singer who says she used to be a part of a singing group when she was younger, but then quit for a good reason (apparently). She then proposes a question to Honoka: why do they
...
sing? Honoka spends some time trying to find the answer. When she finds out, we also find out that that street singer is Honoka in the future.
Yes that's right. Honoka sings because she loves singing, and she loves all of her friends and wanted to save her school, but she gives up fame and the chance to be with her friends doing what she loves to become a street singer in New York City. What in the holy hell were they thinking when they wrote this?
It wasn't just Honoka either, the decision was unanimous, making it even less believable. Nico would never have given up the opportunity. And since none of them say anything about plans after school, we are left wondering why the writers thought any of this made sense.
The CG is also more jarring than ever with scenes containing drawn animation and CG in THE SAME FRAME. Specifically the New York performance.
On another note, the music is good. And the characters were always great until the second half of this movie.
