This is probably one of the worst animes of 2021.
First off I wanna say that I had high expectations for Wave, I’d been looking forward to it since I saw the trailer in October 2020. Right when it started airing I was super excited because I had been waiting months, but after the first episode I was highly disappointed in the weird pacing and the main character was very bland. Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop was a very cute light hearted slice of life anime. There wasn’t anything that made the story stand out to me, it was kind of basic, but the art and the lightheartedness made it fun and easygoing to watch. The characters were relatable, and throughout the movie they slowly start to overcome their insecurities. This one is perfect for the whole family, I watched this with my mom, dad, and little sister and they all enjoyed it. First of all I’d like to say this is definitely one of my favorite animes. The storyline was very intriguing and had me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole thing. Also the chemistry between Ash and Eiji was great and It was fun to watch them interact with each other, but I personally don’t ship them, they’re just best friends in my eyes. However, with that being said, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to younger viewers because the content is more mature and might frighten some people. But overall in my opinion it was a 10/10 for sure!
