I’m having the same kind of Vibes I got from Chainsawman.
A powerful art style backed with a decent enough plot (nothing too original but nothing stale) and good potential to chapters to come.
It might not be a hit or become part of new-gen of “The Big Three”, but it has the potential to join cult classics like Gantz Chainsawman and others of the like as it is both a fantastical world, in this case, a world infested with a monster of varying appearance and features. This is probably one of the best mangas I have read in a while. And although all its characters are animals, it is one of the more humane stories I have read in this format. Fair enough, the duality between carnivores and herbivores doesn't translate well into our reality. But Most details and story elements end up unfolding in a very satisfying way. From finding oneself to carving your way in your truth, to the dangers of relationships and the sheltered life of school against the real world to even deeper elements like pride and shame about your cultural and genetic background.

Barakamon is one of those series that best show the simplicity of life.
The medium of anime is often populated with monsters, otherworldly creatures, special powers and overcomplicated plots (not that I'm complaining), where a lot happens fast. Barakamon is the opposite, true to its genre (slice of life) it follows a story where there ain't a lot of action nor progression in the plot, rather you follow the mundane life (yet highly entertaining) of Sei.
