This is a story about two girls, who look cut out of a "cute girls doing cute stuff" and both are in middle school. Saying that, this is not a beautiful story, it is an ugly and real one. And thats what makes this so good.
Drapped behind the veneer of what I said above is a story that really pulls at fears we all may have. The fear of isolation. The fear of being who you are and being rejected for it. The fear of growing up. The fear of existing in a pain that you dont know ... if you can escape from. It touches so much on the more painful things of the human condition as well, only really pushing a little too hard a few times.

Where other stories would get overly preachy or indulge in themselves so much over these thoughts, this one stays very human about them. This is still an ugly story though.


I found and read this on a lark and honestly, if you are into these types of psychological series, I suggest you really should read it. Other reviews paint a better picture than mine may have, but the fact that this manga drove me to write my first review of any series I have read/watched should be telling in how much I believe that.
