Both have limited animation but still make good use of their budget with how the comedy is framed. Also, both stories are about someone (Negishi in Detroit Metal City, the three main girls in Back Street Girls) being put in a band they don't exactly want to be in, but at times, they find happiness in their new, chaotic life. Two good series to watch with friends, though if I'd recommend one, it'd be Detroit Metal City, one of the funniest comedy anime.
