High-Rise Invasion pissed me off, but I still finished it—mainly because it was only 12 episodes, and I didn’t have anything else to watch at the time. The plot itself was just okay—it wasn’t anything new or particularly unique, but it had potential to be a fun, chaotic action series. Unfortunately, the execution was pretty lackluster. The animation was choppy, which made some of the fights less enjoyable, though it wasn’t completely unwatchable. If the story had been stronger, I could’ve overlooked the animation issues, but sadly, that wasn’t the case.
But the biggest problem? The constant, in-your-face fanservice. It was excessive to the point where

it felt like the show cared more about sexualizing its female characters than actually telling a compelling story. Almost every time a female character moved, the camera just had to zoom in on chest shots, underwear flashes, or completely unnecessary jiggling. And don’t even get me started on the clothing damage—the main girls were constantly getting their outfits torn apart, revealing way too much for no good reason. Then there were the panty shots mid-fight, which just felt absurd. I mean, I’m trying to watch a cool, action-packed survival story, not a show that turns every fight into an excuse to undress its female characters.
And as if that wasn’t bad enough, they also threw in yuri-bait for no real reason other than to pander to a specific audience. Overall, this anime had potential (not really), but the unnecessary sexualization completely ruined the experience.
