This anime just kept taking me by surprise. Enjoyable throughout. The second the first season ending credits rolled across my screen I went and found the manga. The story is captivating. Its a classic post-apocalypse journey type of narrative. Exploring the ruins of what was once Japan. The anime does a great job of showing you the way the world is given everything that happened without ever really covering what went down. Civilization has fallen and had time to start to spring back up. Life goes on even after huge catastrophes and the people / scenes of this world feel realistic.
The characters are an interesting

Solid but not spectacular anime. It drops a lot of the western grunginess of the original show. And the story moves at a break neck pace. Overall, I think someone new to the series would enjoy this more than somebody that has something to compare it to.
The art is deceptively good. I normally don't like this CGI / cell shaded look. But it stopped bothering me after an episode or two. The large scale scenes can be jaw dropping, and the level of detail in each city or small landscape is also well done. This is the rare anime that I'd love to watch ... Dec 30, 2024
I love the fact that they brought this show back with such a high attention to detail. If you're a Bleach fan, you simply must watch this. You get to spend extra time with many of the characters that you'll forgot you missed. I think if you have not seen the original series, you will love the art, and fights, but you will be lost in the story. I recommend catching up on Bleach even via a recap before getting into this show. It does not try too hard to explain itself and just takes you through the story quickly.
The art is sublime. There's ... Dec 23, 2024
Its fun. It gets deep. The characters are all unique and amazing. The lore is wild and crazy. And theres an element of romance. Whatever you like about anime and manga. It is represented here. Tragic backstories? Check. Interesting and deep power system? You got it. Awkward 'will they / won't they' romance? Thats one of the central themes! Speaking of themes, the OST is a perfect example of this show. Loud, fast, frantic, and catchy. And this first season only scratches the surface. I'm not going to give too much away here because part of the fun in Dadnadan are in how quickly things

Well done, but not as EXCELLENT as the manga. I cant explain it. There's just something special in the manga art style and paneling that just isnt coming across for me in the anime. When these chapters were coming out, I was racing to read every new chapter, but I had no problem letting the episodes stack up and bingeing them. I also watched this with someone who hasnt seen all of the other seasons so I had to explain a lot.
There were tons of great fights in this season, even more amazing back story. And I like where they ended it with the ... Sep 30, 2024

This anime was FUN as hell. I cant lie I thought this would just be something I throw on int he background and dont pay attention to. The main premise "Leader who is good at running away" intrigued me, but I didnt think I'd get hooked. RIght about episode 3 or 4 I decided this was one of my favorites.
The main character is a classic shonen. He has presence and pride and a drive to reach his goal. Could swap him out with Tanjiro from Demon Slayer and you wouldnt notice much of a difference. One of the strengths int his show are int he ... Sep 18, 2024

Fun concept for an anime which started fast. I liked it at first and was very intrigued with this anime from the first gore-y fight.
The story sort of tailed off in the middle. Seems like they wanted to spend time with each character and explain how they were connected. There were some fun adventures (baseball episode was dope) and I like the gore + overall rudeness of the show. But I found myself losing interest. When things started to come together at the end, I got excited again. Ready for season 2 The characters saved this show for me. I wish we got more info ... Jul 6, 2024

This shit was fire. Plain and simple. I normally hate the weak boy with no courage trope, but the MC in this one was strangely likable to me. Every episode ends on a cliff hanger. Great show to binge. Some cool insights into fighting if you're just a casual. And some genuine big laughing moments. There was an unhealthy amount of cringe moments, but overall I enjoyed it and I was upset when I realized we were on the last episode. Story wasnt very unique other than the way it combined so many of the tropes that we already love in anime.

When I saw they were animating the training arc as its own season, I was really disappointed. The source material for this anime ended in 2019. I'm just about ready to see this story come to a close. Its clear that the studios are just milking this title for everything its worth.
That being said, I love these characters. And it was low key nice to spend an arc with them when they werent all ont he verge of death. A good training arc is an essential part of any anime and this one performed well. We got back stories, we got unrealistic physical feats of ... Jul 1, 2024

A fun watch, for sure. Animation was on point for the most part. The premise is a bit commonplace, but made different by the age of the MC (30+). I really enjoyed this anime and watched every episode days within it coming out. but there was something missing that wouldve made it a perfect ten. Idk how to explain it. Maybe it was a bit too cutesy. Maybe we didnt spend enough time with the interesting side characters. Maybe this anime pulls too much from existing tropes. Maybe it was the image blurring during key moments. I'm not sure.
