To me, this movie is just something necessary, mostly, to clear the mess they made in DA:LEK, but not great on it's own. And no, it doesn't have anything to do about the characters, there's nothing wrong about them. The main story is a bit depressing but good, although it feels like it was a bit forced and rushed. On that part, everything seems good, although I do have a huge problem on the fact that they made the evolution scenes like the old series.
Let me put it like this, back then, its common for an anime to use a template scene, especially when it's
...
a long series... Rurouni Kenshin did it, Gundam Seed did it, so obviously it's not weird if digimon does it, and weirdly but understandably, they still do it 'till now. Now, since it's a template, it was made to fit all kind of situations and locations within the story. NOW, doing such thing in this movie, where the place is different, with an obvious different situation, not only is it cringy for a grown up to watch (since most likely the people who watch this movie would be a grown up being at least about 25), it also feels weird. Some might argue, "but that's the nostalgic parts" or so, but, how about the movies before this, I.E. DA Tri? they made a new one, which is simpler, and makes more sense when it comes to something someone might see randomly at random places: the digimon turns into an egg, and emerged as a new digimon. IT MAKES SENSE. Now, where will you find a castle to shoot at, and why does imperialdramon have to shoot at a castle every time it digivolves to it? That doesn't make any sense, and no matter how much I love digimon, I hate the fact that I did get hyped by it back then, since it doesn't make any sense...AND THEY CHOSE TO USE IT HERE? SERIOUSLY?

I didn't quite bother on filling the episodes, didn't even wanted to make a review on this disappointing series at all tbh, like, I watched it jumping episodes to the end, simply wishing it'd get better.... BUT it never did. Like, the concept of modernizing a popular anime of the past isn't bad, many ended up great, but WTH is this? They used the name "digimon adventure", but it's nothing like the original digimon adventure, besides the characters. The story is different, the backstory of each character is different, the relationship between the children and their digimons are different, everything is different. by that, is
...
it even worth watching?
Now, if you think I'm just talking nonsense because I didn't quite say anything about the quality if this series alone, which there are actually lots of complaints about the story writing (I.E. the weird battles, like, takeru riding pegasmon while pegasmon vigorously rotates itself, and survived), but my biggest concern is about this: the Digimon Adventure series has lots of series in them, from the original digimon adventure, 02, not to forget, the movies including the prequel about the first time taichi met greymon and so, digimon adventure tri, digimon adventure beyond, digimon adventure last evolution kizuna, digimon adventure 02 the beginning, and so on... and the series is still on going, like, we still haven't got the series where taichi and friends reunite with their digimon post DA:LEK... and at the same time, they released this series, WHICH HAS NO CONNECTION AT ALL WITH THE ORIGINAL DIGIMON ADVENTURE TIMELINE... Well, let's say, as a grown up you can understand the concept of multiverse and so, but now,the main target audience of digimon adventure are children. Could they understand that?
In other words, they should've just stay faithful to the original story and just modernize the quality of the animation OR just use another name with different characters to begin with.

I just remembered a beef I had with this series ages ago, which is simply, the animation is good, the drama is good, it has some common minor problems, like, it lacks details of the game, it lacks story of the journey between floors, etc, which are usually forgivable when it comes to action animes... but that's as far as the good parts go, like no matter how much good aspects of the anime can go, it's obviously not worth watching due to it's lack of consistency.
Just think about it a bit. If you die in game, you die, if someone unplug the device, you
...
die, anything that makes you disconnect to the game, kills you. The next point is, the technology was still like, everything is connected by cable, not WiFi... EVEN IF it was Wifi, it's not something like mobile games or so, where you can bring the console wherever you want... SO, now tell me... if that's the plot of the story, then how the F$&! did they bring everyone, including kirito, to the hospital? Seriously, HOW?

I'll start with the negative aspects, I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like the animation quality isn't as good as the first season.... aaaand the romance part is just, simply, naruto and hinata all over again...
And with that out of the way, for everything elses, the story is simple but perfect. By that I mean, the attention to detail, story-wise, doesn't quite have any loopholes...well, if I may complain a bit, there are some, like about how does the console technology works, or some other random details, but structurally speaking, everything just add up perfectly.
The storytelling too is good, like, the
...
plot is about multiple games, yet the concept of every single one of them are understandable. It somehow feels like watching some random e-sport tournament. They also gave it less drama and more comedy, which also makes the story easier to understand, and also more relaxing.
Animation-wise, like I said before, not as good as the first season, like, there's a bit more noticeable "lazy animation" throughout the season, including in some action scenes. but, as far as I noticed it, not much detail reduction was seen, so, it's still good, but I still wish they did it as good as the first season.

How should I say it...? The recipe of the whole package is somehow a combination of a disaster, yet, it also became something that's well balanced.
By that I mean like, first things first, it's an isekai, something that people nowadays are bored with, but, it's not a one way journey so it doesn't have that "no way back" or "runaway" kind of vibe. Next, the MC lacks ambition or target which makes the story kinda slow, but thanks to that, it also lack the cliffhangers which, tbh, might ruin your day. Next, the action animation is quite average, not near to those lazy ones,
...
but nowhere near the best, BUT since there's no over the top super human abilities dueling or so, there's no problem with that at all. And the most interesting point to me is, the MC the characters that takes lots of time to realize their feelings....which in a "normal" romance anime would be boring and annoying (since they're usually about teenagers), but since the main characters are, lets just say, "aged", there's no random fighting or so, or rather, they just enjoy being with each other and that's it.
Overall, with no heavy story, no intense fighting, no over the top comedy, no emotional roller coaster, it's just relaxing, and that's it.

It's basically a mix of some romcom with a plot similar to nisekoi, with a tsundere couple. So technically, if you like it, you'd like it, if you don't, you don't. To be honest, that's all anyone needs to know about this series.
Anything else...? Well, it has some parodic aspects, the pace is somehow almost as slow as some indian soap opera, without the million facial close ups.... and... to be fair, by comparing it with nesekoi, there's more, emotions in this one, like... If I'm not mistaken, since I watched it quite a long time ago... in nisekoi, the main couple basically just hates
...
each other, whilst in this series (kurakon), as far as this season goes, they have mixed feelings towards each other, but keeps on hiding them, or rather, the story is basically about a communication problem.
Overall, it's not bad, but there's nothing special either...

The easiest way to say it is: the action is good, but that's just it! Everything else is just, simply, terrible.
When it comes to the first season, it seems kinda promising at the start, like, a weakling, trying to get money for his mother's medication, gets a power-up, founds out about the elixir of life, and then starts a journey to get it. At first he does struggle, and needs to kill those who wants to kill him, at least there's still some morale at the start... but after that, once he gets strong enough, everything goes like, random fighting, and everyone besides the
...
MC simply became weaklings. So, simply, the story goes like, it's either the MC fighting every boss, or the other hunters (including the S ranks) showing of, basically, nothing besides their own weaknesses. So, what's the point of the story in the first place? The one and only hero that can stop the upcoming apocalypse? Even if that's the case, there's no story about such apocalypse (at least not yet).
What I'm trying to say here is, for this point, I don't mind if the story is focused on the MC, there's nothing wrong about that, but the story telling, the world building, there's almost none of them. When we even compare this series with a one with a similar plot, like One Punch Man, a somewhat pre-apocalyptic world, where the ones defending them are the "heroes", or in this series, "hunters", with a main character that's OP. in OPM, the back story of the world, the characters, both heroes and villains, exists. Some fanatic fans will argue, "but the title is solo leveling, so what's wrong with that?", well, if you say it like that then, the story of one punch man isn't always about the one punch man himself, harry potter isn't about harry potter but more about voldemort, naruto doesn't have anything to do with ramen besides the MC loves to eat ramen, one piece doesn't quite have the one piece in the story, or at least not yet, and bleach doesn't have anything to do with laundry, what kind of logic is that? (sorry about the rant about a comment I saw, defending this series).
Besides that main problem, there's also other things like, the lack of consistency, or rather, the lack of causality. In other words, Not only the visual looks, but the MC's personality too just changes, just like that, with no explanation at all.
So, to sum things up, why I wouldn't recommend this series is simply because, there's almost no story, almost no world building, side stories, moral value, consistency, and target. So, again, what's the point of the story in the first place?

I'll try to make this short since I'd end up ranting all over the place. First things first, let's be honest, plotwise, it's interesting. like, imagine you wake up in a dystopian alternative world of your known world, with what would you do? That by itself can end up with an interesting philosophical discussion. Besides that, Rinne's background that's, basically, being rejected by al races has it's potential. But sadly, that's it, everything else is bad. Visually, the animation is bad, although it's not the laziest way possible to make it, the action scenes are still too lazy. like, even romance animes at the same
...
season as this anime was released has better animation quality than this. That again, it could be forgivable if they made story is good, but, no, it isn't. Everything goes too hasty, they weren't even suspicious with the arrival of a stranger who weirdly knows everyone. They didn't actually give much explanation about the universe they're in, like, what are the difference between every race, etc. Even up to the last episode they didn't even give a hint on why did their world had to go through the reset. Beside those things, it also lacks the drama, like, it lacks political drama, there's almost no romantical drama (although it end up being like a harem at the end), and tt also lacks the emotional drama (like, there's also almost no expression at all). Overall, I'd say it's simply just a waste of potential, that's it.

First things first, I haven't read the original work, so it will be limited to the anime. And I'll begin with, the animation isn't lazy which is good, not like those adventury animes with single-or-double frame action shots. The ending "cover" songs also was something to wait for, some were even, to me personally, kinda nostalgic. And it has quite an interesting MC, and no I'm not talking about Alya. Again, hopefully there will me more explaining about Masachika's background, but as far as the anime goes (up to the end of season 1) he seems to be a boy who has some family related
...
trauma, chose to runaway, and somehow still tries to oppose them (I don't know if I missed some detail or what, but I'm not sure if the issue was about his parents got divorced or not, since the scene I remember is about his grandfather being upset about him choosing to "leave" the Suoh family). And thanks to his family issues, he somehow lost his will to "fight", and ends up being somewhat "lazy", but for some reason he ends up going all-in to help a classmate. I know, I did see when I was on the way to write my review on this, that this "laziness" isn't popular, and yes, I do believe that too is the best choice to make in this story, 'cause it basically makes it more emotional and deepens that depressive-ish feel to the Masachika's background.
Now, if the story goes about all what I just said, I'd say it's recommended. However, I do also have complaints about it, which would make me not actually recommending it to someone unless they're searching for a specific story that points at this. And no, it wouldn't be about the Russian language, since I haven't learned the language or interacted with a native Russian speaker, although, I can't help but suspect it to be somewhat too formal like the English they used in Meitantei Conan. But again, since I don't know and haven't seen the comments of those who know Russian, I won't say that part is a complaint, yet.
I also wouldn't complain about the harem-ish nature of the story, like, from my own experiences, I do see school councils to be filled with girls, also those who have high grades at school are usually girls, so, to put Masachika in a place surrounded by girls doesn't seem unnaturally odd.
So, my biggest problem with the story is, which is somehow the same to some other anime/manga/LN stories (which for some reason, at the moment I can't recall the titles), it's the title. Yes, it might be about me not knowing much about the modern Japanese culture, I do have to admit that one first. It's not about the long title, which I do find annoying and somehow forgettable, but about the story and the title that basically, either doesn't match the story or, in this case, spoils the ending all together.
(SPOILER ALERT)
It's simply like, the story is about Masachika, who in his childhood was interested with a Russian girl, which made him lean Russian. A long time after that, which obviously he lost contact with that girl, he got a classmate who is also Russian, or rather, by assuming their names, half Russian? Or maybe their father is the one half Russian? ANYWAY, they did give undeniable hints who the childhood Russian girl was, which iI know will make it a bit cliche, but also makes people wondering, who will he choose, but, no... the author chose from the very beginning to tell everyone, "he's gonna choose Alya". yes I know, Japanese stories like to focus more to the destination, but I must say, telling the destination in a story with a potential romantical dilemma like this is simply ruins the fun.
On the other hand, the title refers to a character who's also simply the mascot of the story. Again, the story goes about Masachika's childhood, Masachika's love interest, Masachika's family issues, Masachika's mental issues, Masachika's tactics, more that 50% of the story is about Kuze Masachika. Yet, the title is "Alya", who as far as who as far as I see it, only goes about her trying to understand her feelings, and being a mascot who acts cute and sings the opening and ending songs, that's it. In other words, the title makes it cheap and unrecommendable. I know, some of those who read this will say "don't judge the book by it's cover", but again, would Harry Potter be as big as we know it if back then JKR chose to name it "Lily's Boy" and gave the cover a picture of a lily (flower)? Or to make it a bit simmilar, if JKR named it "Voldemort's Death", wouldn't the readers be puzzled when the story goes on and on about Harry Potter, not Voldemort??
So yes, I did enjoy the story, I did enjoy the animation, I did enjoy the music, but I wish they gave it a less... how should I say it....? a less maskot-selling title. But again, that's from a perspective of someone who isn't Japanese, so, let's just enjoy what we enjoy and ignore what we don't enjoy.

To put things simple, I somehow liked it, but I won't (or rather, cannot) recommend it.
Why? Basically, how I see it, it's that typical story some guy doing a journey, who doesn't want to care but ends up caring... well, I'm still limited to the anime, so as far as I see it, it's simply just like that. The short stories within aren't that bad either, by that I mean, they do contain some social criticism, which, usually I would recommend.
HOWEVER, everything else, I'd say is somehow poorly made, like, first things first, it's not actually a harem anime (at least until the end of
...
the anime series to me it isn't), due to the fact that they're only 2 girls who actually has feelings towards the MC, but they somehow managed to make it look like a harem anime... it's simply like, one piece, but they started with luffy, nami, and robin.... seriously, why? Next, the story build-up is too fast, making the villains look like some villain from some Indian soap opera (I'm not trying to be a racist here, but it's just the first thing that pops up in my head). Not to forget, the action scenes were too cheaply made, which also ruins the purpose of adapting it into an anime in the first place.
