It was as if the writer for this little oneshot took a huge pair of scissors and just snipped every sister-loves-brother tale out there. I know he's adopted, but gasp! I love him! How many times have you heard that tale? Yet other mangas seem to carry this idea out so much beter than Suki ever could, like De Capo, for instance. It's every forbidden relationship you've probably seen, so there's no sense in reading this unless your a major shoujo fan or if you're trying to fil your maga list to the brim. The ending wasn't even unexpected; it wasn't as if I
...
expected the girl to fall to her death at the end. Actually, I wish she did fall to her death, because A) That would make for an interesting twist in this oh-so-copied plot, and B) With the main character's death, I wouldn't be reading this right now. What I also didn't understand was her random anger splats, in which she yells at her brother and runs into her room crying soon after. I can't tell if the writer is trying to convey a "Oh my, she loves him so much it hurts!", but it's not done very well, in any event.
Artwork: 4/10
You've got your average big eyed, girl and your average chick stealing, hot guy. Nothing you probably haven't seen before.
Characters: 4/10
Again, the characters reek of copy and paste. The deepest thing the girl says is "I can't say I love you", which I have to admit, made me smile the first time I read it.
Then the phrase was crammed into multiple sentences over the course of the thing, and as Marlin said in Finding Nemo, "Good feeling's gone."
Worth the Read?: Shoujo fans will probably love this little oneshot. I suggest only reading to bump up your manga list, to see if I'm just a grumpy old coot who gave this manga a bad review because I could, or, of course, if you're a fan of this brother/sister repeated storyline.

Storyline: 8/10
Whenever you played Sonic or Mario as a child, did you ever consider what the boss felt? Perhaps he was in the middle of drinking his tea when you so rudely barged in. This short manga explores the idea of that, and shows how stressful it can really be to be evil (and the boss of minions touched by your every word). The ending of it was unexpected, and though the hero's words could be taken in many different ways, I found myself smiling toward the end of it. If you fancy yourself as a video game fan, particularly a Nintendo one, this
...
one shot is for you.
Artwork: 7/10
Demon King's shock is shown in quite a funny manner, but other than that, the art is nothing special. I am, however, quite impressed with the captured hero's clothing. It's quite a nice outfit. I know, it has nothing to do with this review.
But seriously, look at it. That headband is pretty kickass.
Characters: 8/10
There are no underlaying, deep emotions in this story. It's really just there for "teh lulz". However, the woes of the poor Demon King are captured quite well in his words to the reader, and you can either walk away from this manga with a newfound respect for villians or walk away wondering where you can find this guy's castle solely for the purpose of beating him up.
Worth the Read?: Seeing as it's only nine pages long, what do you have to loose? I say go for it, especially if you're a fan of video games.

Storyline: 6/10
I have to say, this has to be the weirdest yuri that I have ever read. The way that Marimo the librarian and her friend Mikito find out for their love is boardline over-the-top (and not in a good way). The plot jumped around in so many directions that I found myself confused as to what I got myself into, and I remember when they included Marimo's "wet week", I found myself utterly confused. However, when it all boils down, it's the tale of a librarian who refuses to leave the kotatsu in fear of freezing, and her friend egging her to leave it
...
in such a way that they finally realise their love for one another.
Very odd plotline, but if that's your thing, I think you'll enjoy this oneshot.
Artwork: 6/10
Just your average manga artwork. Nothing very eye grabbing, to be honest. The girls are drawn very cute.
Characters: 3/10
The characters aren't very believable in their love. It's basicly touch-and-go (literally) and the two are in love. All the while, there's some random girl under the kotatsu (presumbly one of Marimo's friends) who doesn't even say anything; just continues reading. If your friends were bumping each other's privates, I'm thinking you would of said something on the matter. I understand that the entire point was to convey a "Gasp! They've wanted to touch each other for such a long time!", but the feeling I got was "Damn, she kicked that thing somethin' fierce". I think the author should of spent a little more time explaining each character, but then again, it was a oneshot probably meant to fap to, so what do I know?
Worth the Read?: It's merely an manga to either pass because of how "jumpy" it is plotwise or a manga to read for exactly that reason.
Additional Comments:
It's a short little manga, so I guess if in doubt if you should read it or not, I say go for it. The one private part is censored, if you're worried about that. However, I hope you understand what you are getting into with the aid of my review.

Storyline: 4/10
This manga focuses on the story of the artist's pet dog. The stories that she shares, while heart warming, are not exactly entertaining. They are the standard pet stories that your aunt probably tells you at your family reunion whilest you sigh and listen only to be polite: Fido sleeps funny, Fido is so brave, Fido is yappy. It isn't that it has the same idea as many other manga out there, it is the fact that it basicly combines all those pet stories you've probably heard over the years into one. If you're a dog lover who cannot get a dog for whatever
...
reason, this might be your manga. However, as I own a dog of my own, I've already seen most of the crazy things dogs do, and nothing in here came as a suprise.
Artwork: 6/10
Nothing out of the ordinary, as far as I could tell. The dog was quite adorable though, especially when the artist drew comparisons of the dog's younger and older selves.
Characters: 5/10
Just your average dog-human relationship: the struggles, the good times, the saddness, the playtimes. It wasn't anything that made me drop the book and yell "WOAH! This is intense!" Then again, I didn't expect some jaw dropping relationship between human and animal anyway.
Worth the Read?: Depends on where you stand in life. If you love dogs, yet cannot get one, this manga might be worth a read as it explains all the little perks (and mishaps) of owning a dog. If you already have a dog, you've probably seen most of what is shown in this manga and you might want to give it a pass.
Additional Comments: The only thing that really made this manga worth reading was the adorable dog, at least to me.

Thus far, there have only been two chapters of this. As I can see, there is nothing out of the ordinary about this manga: boy with unnatural strength leaves home, wants to save the world, ends up saving girl along the way. What really throws me off is the complete randomness that is thrown into this series. Mayors wearing Lakers uniforms, brothers being tied up, and bunny warriors dropping f-bombs. It sounds funny until you're reading it and utterly confused as to why the author bothered to include this failed attempt at humor. However, there is a little bit of hope for this manga, as
...
it is just starting out. No doubt that the author has a few rough patches to fix, but I would reccomend sticking with this manga for a bit to see where it goes. It has the potential to be cute and perhaps semi-popular, but the rampant cursing and pointless "jokes" have got to go.
The art of this might be too cartoonish for most, but it reminds me of a game I used to play on my DS when I was younger; "Drawn to Life". The graphics are cute.
Overall, it's a manga worth reading and spending a little time following, as the story might progress a bit. It has the potential, but it is up to its author to make this story work.

From first glance, this is your typical, every day "Girl falls in love with childhood best friend, too shy to tell him". However, a twist soon occurs in the fact that the girl is seemingly "punished" for not confessing her love and the fact that she continously re-lives the same day for a significant period of time (I cannot really say anymore with spoliers). Though the idea of "love conquers all" can be found running rampant in many a manga, this manga manages to twist around the idea a bit in its own unique manner, all withen fourty pages. That being said, there a few
...
parts of it that seem a bit murky and confusing, and one can probably expect to re-read a few pages back to understand what is going on. However, these occurences are not very frequent, and I only ran into them near the very end of the tale. The art is average, though I thought it was particularly good during scenes of death. As for the characters, there are really only two focused on during this manga. They are your average, deep thought thinking characters, nothing extremly special as far as I can tell.
This being a oneshot and only fourty pages, mostly all art, you have nothing to loose by reading this. It is an interesting plot that does not rely heavily on common ideas that float around in manga.

Black Rock chan is simply an adorable manga. That is really all there is to the storyline, the child acting adorable. This is not to say that the plots were horrible (in fact, some made me smile a few times), but nothing really amazing. It's a bit hard to explain, as the story elements didn't feel very much repeated (you've got your average "protecter of the world" in Black Rock, but the series doesn't revolve around that), yet there was simply... nothing but a child and her mistress. I will not lie; the reactions of certain characters in certain situations are enough to make one
...
smile, and if for anything, read this manga for that. It's a nice little story to read if you're feeling blue.
If you read manga for the cute characters, this is surely a read for you, as Black Rock is quite an interesting character, cute in a way different than manga's other adorables.
The art did not wow me in a sense where I was simply amazed the artist could pull it off. In fact, all there was to it was (guess what I'm about to say, hmm?) adorable. The expressions, I must admit, were quite vibrant.
Simply put, if you want cute, here's a short manga for you. It's not anything very long. It's worth a quick read.
