Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari or The Rising of the Shield Hero is an overall good anime. Regardless of your age or gender the anime appeals quite widely and grabs your attention from the first episode. It may seem like a cliche Isekai, but it's much more than that.
Storyline/Plot: (7)
The Rising of the Shield Hero has a very strong start, but gets progressively worse. The story itself isn't that special. Being Isekaied into a world to solve a problem that only the summoned 'hero' can deal with isn't anything new. The thing that really sets apart this Isekai from others is its strong themes.

Power is emphasised a lot and shows how despotic people can be. The main character goes through a lot of backlash and hatred from others due to this.
Art/Animation: (7)
The art/animation is overall pretty good. Especially in a magical world where weapons and spells are constantly used if the animation of the action doesn't look good it gets rid of most of the appeal. Most the art/animation used though is very clean and well-suited to the anime.
Sound: (7)
To the music, to the soundtracks and the sound effects in general are all fairly good. There isn't anything that stands out in general.
Characters: (8)
The characters are splendid and one of big reasons as to why the story is so interesting. Naofumi (the main character) has an obvious chracter development, but you can always point out why they happen. Most of the events that happen in the plot lead to many changes in Naofumi which influences different outcomes. Naofumi only ends up this way due to the incredible synergy between the other characters including the flat (flat as in steriotypical) ones.

Overall the anime is quite enjoyable and I quite much enjoyed it. It probably would have been better if they had made the near end part better.

If you like Isekais with many plot twists and characters constantly having mental breakdowns (it's pretty interesting trust me) then this anime is for you.
