This show is one of those shows which somehow keeps staying in your ptw list, eventhough you have been clearing some titles in your ptw list due to lack of watching time. You don't get rid of it because, you believe that this show will be pretty good. And when you finally watch it, you are not regretting anything.
Yes, i did trim my ptw list due to lack of watching time and i didn't get rid of this show because i believe this will be a good show. Turns out as what i expected, this show is good, for me at least.
Hoozuki no Reitetsu focus
...
on, perhaps we can say it, hell's slice of life. Yes, literally hell. The place where you will be sent to if you are a believer and have committed unforgivable sins, if you aren't believer then suit yourself. There are so much japanese myth reference, gods, legends, and even western and chinese reference, but most of them are japanese reference.
The story, i could say is written pretty well. In each episode we are served with what hell, japanese hell, looks like with all rules written or not written. With a well matched comedy, the story does deliver and leave some kind of impact to its viewer. A kind of impact which any believer won't accept. "I don't expect hell world would be this fun", said some guy in a comment section, eventhough each episode shows what kind of torture would someone get based on his/her sins.
The art and animation is more than just good for a non action anime. This show was handled by Wit Studio, so rest assured. Especially the art of each character, authentic with the exact amount of style and each of them is loveable, but the most lovable one is shiro the momotaro's dog.
This show is definitely enjoyable which can leave one kind of impact you hope you never ever said and it can give a laughter, if the comedy is somewhat like yours. 8/10.

Such a hidden gem.
Maison Ikkoku is your classical romantic-comedy in which there's too-many-sided relationship and yes, you are right, your usual not-so-special main character. Classic, Why? Because it's aired before 20th century. No, it's not the main reason i called it classic. It's so classic because it just made me remember how romantic-comedy series (anime or not) toying with its audience feeling like, cursing the MC because he is too coward, blaming the rival because he/she is so much annoying, the misunderstanding which annoyed us the most and the feeling when "The MC is probably gonna win that girl, better stop watching now" but you
...
can't stop watching until the last of episode while cursing the MC (again). Those feelings/vibes are what romantic-comedy anime nowadays lacking of.
No, my review hasn't ended. Here comes the (probably) clear review from each point of this anime.
Story (10/10):
Simple. Maison Ikkou story is so simple, yet entertaining to watch. You only get a not-so special MC falls in love with the main heroine on the first sight then rival keeps popping out one after another. There's nothing special in this concept, just a standard romantic-comedy anime. So what's so special? The vibes/feelings which i have stated before. You don't need story complex enough to enjoy a series, what you need is how good/proper the story is delivered. That's what Maison Ikkoku story offers us.
Art (10/10):
Again, simple (standard) yet detailed and offers much support to give the same vibe to the story. The art clearly gives enough help to feel feelings of Maison Ikokku story. You can even see from its MAL page that it doesn't have special art, but that's not a problem. An anime doesn't need a Makoto Shinkai level of art or perhaps Kyo Ani level to get 10/10 (personally).
Sound (10/10):
Catchy. Maison Ikkoku is also full of catchy ost and ofc, the first op will always be the best ost in this series and the most important part is that the sound does offer the same vibe of the related story in which it was played. No misplaced. Even, the background music is great.
Character (10/10):
Maison Ikkoku features many characters with variative traits, but most of them share the same trait, annoying. Yes, this is totally needed for a story which toys its audience feeling. Almost all of the MC gang is somewhat annoying in their own way and even it may force you to quit watching the series (but, ofc you probably won't). But again, the main heroine does have what a proper romantic-comedy heroine should have, a lovable trait. I even personally fall in love with the main heroine because i have never seen such a realistic-yet-impossible-to-get kind of characters before. Moreover, this part (characters) offers so much help in developing Maison Ikkoku story so i give it 10/10.
Enjoyment (10/10):
I can't say that i totally enjoy this series because it toys my feeling that much, but i can say that i'm completely hooked up to it until its last episode. Even now i wish they would make another Maison Ikkoku story which almost impossible to be true.
Ps: I even hesitate to watch the last episode because i don't want it to end.
Overall:
This anime is what i called "masterpiece in its simplicity", because almost all of the aspect is somewhat simple, yet it can deliver that much. Giving an unforgettable feelings and completely hooked you up even you know what will happen next and you know that you'll be annoyed. 10/10

What do feel toward Seitokai Yakuindomo with its "sex jokes" is already stated in one quote from Cromartie High School character, Yamaquchi Noboru. As i recall, in the 4th eps, when Ishikawa told a sex joke, Yamaguchi hit him while saying "Why did i hit Ishiwaka? It's because he choose to tell sex jokes without thinking. This is typical pattern that someone with no sense of humor quickly falls into."
Seitokai Yakuindomo is what Yamaguchi has told before. Sex joke without thinking and quite repetitive. I'm not saying that those who loves Seitokai Yakuindomo jokes are those who don't have sense of humor, but personally i
...
do think the same way as the previous quote. I don't like this kind of humor. I know that adult jokes have sex joke in it and it can be really funny. However, if it is repetitive and said/done in wrong moment, the mood would be ruined. That's what Seitokai Yakuindomo did.
I would say that the art and sound is good, considering this anime is aired in 2010. The plot which is a story about some highschool students daily life, is a good component for comedy type anime. Some notable titles like GTO, Saiki, SKET Dance, Gin no Saji, and maybe currently airing Kaguya-sama show us that comedy and school are good combination. However, what Seitokai Yakuindomo did is a mistake. Completely ruin what could be a proper comedy school anime.
I know that i've only watched 2 eps of it, so i'm quite sure the reader might think that my opinion isn't valid at all. However, it really takes so much to watch those two episode in which i barely laugh at all, then why would you continue to watch thing that doesn't entertain you at all? The only option is dropping it.
Last, everyone has different sense of humor. So, if you like those kind of humor which i have stated before, go ahead watch this anime since that Seitokai Yakuindomo is. This could be warning sign for you who don't have that kind of taste.

I know that this anime is still on going halfway, so this review might could go wrong and right. However, from the 9 episodes that have been aired, i still can't give score more than 7 to this anime. The anime is good enough but it still can't be said very good or even great, because i think that this anime is lacking certain point.
Well, we may already knew that the art of this anime is above average which can be said as a good point of this anime. Then, we have this pretty rare theme in drama/romance anime which is another good point of
...
this anime. Yes, the adult/mature characters and vibes. Usually or to be precise, most of the drama/romance revolves around highschool students and doesn't give any mature/adult vibes. What else? Well, no opening song and just ending song which actually increase the vibes of this anime.
Despite those good points, i just can't sit back and watch this anime with full enjoyment the way i watch the other 8-rated anime because of that certain point. I know that this anime can be considered as slow pace one, but that's not the reason why. That certain point is probably the trademark of this anime. I just can't find a trademark which can make me or probably others viewers to really looking forward for the next eps. The mature vibes? Not strong enough. The link among the characters? Nope, not strong enough. The no op just ed thing? Out of question, because it doesn't relate much with the main story.
As i have stated before, this anime has many good points and probably more than what i have stated. However, i can't find any trademark/unique/special point of this anime so far and that's the main the reason why this anime can only be good enough. 7/10.

Welcome to the NHK! Yes, welcome to the club where we keep blaming every single misfortune and bad things to the global elite. By the description written in the synopsis section, you would get about 80% of what will happen and what will the 24 eps show us.
As i have stated before and what the sypnosis is written, this show indeed tells us a story about (maybe) hikikomori guy who are trying to get back into the society by the help of a mysterious young girl who actually doesn't have proper background in therapy and really she really has his own issues (minor spoiler). The
...
main theme alone is interesting, since we will actually see what is a hikikomori looks like.
However, my personal opinion said the main story lacks something. The story goes so much slower in the first quarter, that's the first one. I'm holding it at the 3rd or 4th eps since i don't feel anything special at first, except that the story revolves around hikikomorism. However, as the story goes on, Welcome to the NHK! often shows something relatable to the real life, sometimes a heartwarming moment (Well yeah, you can expect adult moments since this is about hikikomori guy), and i come to realize that this is a psychological show. The second one is how actually Satou isn't a hikikomori. After certain episode you would probaly realize that he isn't hikikomori and you will get to the real hikikomori. The last one is.... How can someone who despises society and is called (maybe)hikikomori has two fucking cute girls who love him? Isn't that too good to be true?
All of them are my personal opinion so it can be wrong and it can be true depends on how you feel it. Despite my previous statement, this show is a notable one and truly deserves the score it has right now (8.35). How this show goes pyschological, the main theme which is pretty rare, the comedy which was pretty good and all the relatable moments are i think enough for the reasons to watch this good show. 8/10

Detective conan is the perfect example of an amazing anime which always stick to its main genre, but could become boring sometimes. Why? Because it always stick to its main genre. I don't mean in a bad way, but that's what i feel up to this episode. Moreover, there are some flaws which actually can be improved to make this anime become a masterpiece of its own. This doesn't mean that i don't see any good point of this anime.
Like i said, Detective conan is an amazing anime which always sticks to its main genre and never fails to deliver amazing mystery-filled episodes. Up to
...
the eps i'm currently watching, i haven't seen any episode which has less than 90% mystery. At first, i was like "This show is amazing. Each episode, new mystery intensifies.(Eventhough some of them are 2 or 3 parts episode)" . However, as the show progress, i kinda get boring since it seems repetitive. Like, New episode->probably murder case->the culprit get caught->End. It would have been better if the case is more variated, because more or less 80% of them are murder case, or maybe the way that the culprit get caught is more variated.
Well, i may have stated that the way the story is delivered has some problems, but i do love the way they made the original anime episode/filler. So far, from my completed anime list, Detective Conan is the second one that has interesting filler which all of them are delivered with its main genre, beside gintama. So, you won't find any unnecessary beach scene where the characters are laughing/playing while showing their bikini suit, or maybe unnecessary flashback which is totally unrelated and out of its genre.
Maybe one other flaw which has been bugging me is, the way conan knocked Mouri Kogoro unconscious and deduce the case using Kogoro's voice. Well, up to the 200th eps, probably 80% of the case was solved this way. It would have been better and more logical if conan use any other method beside knocking someone out and use their voice to deduce the case. Well, i know it was asking for impossible since this anime has more than 900 eps, but this is the main reason why this anime can't be masterpiece of its own.
I know that there are some flaws in this series, but i can't deny that Detective Conan is one of the best anime that ever exist, the best mystery anime to be precise. The main plot is totally interesting. The way the suspense rising when the main plot is on. The character which each of them has unique personality and absolutely enjoyable, even the supporting characters like Takagi, Hattori, Kisaki Eri, etc. Such an amazing anime, but i can give a solid 9 since i have stated the main reason before. However, i will still rate this 9 as round up from my 8.5/10 score. Yes, 9/10.

"You love monster right? Then go watch babylon in this season. You won't regret it.", said my friend while reccommending this show to me. Well, giving it a chance won't be a problem since i only watch 5 Fall 2019 anime.
I'm glad i give this show a shot. My friend is right, i don't regret watching it. My friend probably reccommend babylon since i'm into life and death topics at that time, which is relatable to babylon. Yes, babylon main story is about life and death. To put it precisely, it's about whether suicide should be called a crime or legal choice. Seisaki Zen,
...
shounen like public prosecutor who has his own ideal about justice caught up in an odd case. This odd case is caused by babylon main protagonist, who herself has her own ideal about justice. Both of the main character, trying to waver ones ideal, from the 1st episode until the last episode. This is the thing which i think becomes the main good point about this show. Babylon trying to give us the truth, even we know that there's no absolute truth about life and death. I know that the last episode is a little bit unexpected, since from the way how this show is built up. Probably this is one reason why babylon has a low rating.
However, babylon is one of great pyschological anime. Interested about life/death topics and probably some philoshopy. You need to give this show a shot.

Maquia is one of those anime which is frequently recommended to others in terms of its "great" story and "feels" journey. Unfortunately, those strong points are just the same as those mediocre anime, not good enough.
Just like the summary told us, it's about one clan who has a duty to keep isolated from outer world. Yes, it's a unique one, yet fails to fully entertain us, especially me. To keep it short, no climax, nothing special, no good romance, it's just a mother-loving-her-child story which even is not at the same level of Wolf Children. Surely dissapointed for the story.
Moving aside, the art/animation, character, and
...
sound is just good enough (7/10). I found nothing interesting and something that could standout the whole movie.
Overall, the movie is good, but not that good. To be fairly, it only deserved 7 to 7.8 score on MAL, but somehow it has 8.5/10. I'm still wondering which part that deserves 8/10 or more from this movie.
To be honest, i watched this while watching some youtube contents because as i said, nothing standout from this movie that could catch my attention the whole time.

From zero to hero shounen anime is really an interesting plot in anime world. Well, yes, KenIchi does it well in terms of story, but not perfectly. As the synopsis above, we could see a weak young boy who even can't even protect a woman. The plot goes well, in each episode we could see that boy growing stronger, learning new technique, meeting his eternal rival (you know, shounen things), and ofc getting closer with that woman whom he can't even protect.
Apart from having an interesting story with a probably-can-be-said a well written story, there's something which ruin the whole thing and wasting its potential,
...
and it's the animation. The art can be tolerate because it's neither good nor bad, but the animation can't be tolerate, it's pissing me off personally. Why? I can't even tell is this colored manga or an anime from its fighting scene. The fighting scenes totally ruined the tense for me, because its animation is too annoying, by annoying i mean that only one frame for merely seconds, yes one frame. That's why i can't even tell whether i'm watching an anime or "watching" manga.
I can't really recommend this for those who want to see a intense martial arts scene because the animation is so bad, but if you can ignore those things and just looking for the from zero to hero things, go ahead. You may see the comedy tag on this show, but the comedy isn't that hilarious, don't get your hopes too high.

Who said gamble mixed with sport isn't good enough? Well, those who have opinion like that should consider to watch One Outs. As the synopsis above, One outs is mostly about gambling in baseball world. Yes, gamble and baseball. Although, the gamble in this term isn't about manipulating score or something like that, it's more one on one gamble, in this term it's Touma vs the club owner.
One outs really did its job in delivering entertaining pyshcological anime by mixing gamble who really has that pyschological things + baseball tense. As we know, sports anime aren't only about winning and losing, but also how they
...
win and lose in which may affect their mental/pyschological. Just imagine those gambling tenses in a must-win baseball match. Yes, those tenses are what will you feel along this series.
Eventhough one outs is great in terms of pyschological things, its baseball may seem a little bit unrealitic. As the synopsis above, Touma pitches' speed are merely 134 kmh which is very normal and mediocre among pro players, but he's able to contribute a lot of things to his team and also striking out their enemy just by playing with some pyschological things. I know, some said that when you can read your enemy mind, you can win the game, but it seems unrealistic for me, personally.
All that said, One outs is a very must watch anime for those who love pyschological anime, because you know this is Death Note in baseball version for me, but i won't recommend this for those who love baseball anime because it may seems unrealistic at some moments. I have watched/read baseball matches, anime and manga, so i know what a baseball anime should look.
